Chapter – 6
Third Person's POV
Arav was started with a grumpy face, beside him the woman was standing with a very neutral face.
Their marriage has completed, now they are husband and wife. Arav was angry because he couldn’t able to stop this marriage and also one question was disturbing him in his mind, why they want this marriage? What is their motive?
Arav was looking at his newly wedded wife, who hasn’t speak a single word since then have come, intensely. He was thinking maybe she has been forced to do this marriage… but he again thought if she was forced then why there is no expression of anger or sadness on her face. From starting to end she has been giving a neutral expression, not angry, happy, sad… nothing. So expression was there in her face. Looking at her expression it was impossible to say that today was her marriage. Only one could guess seeing her bridal dress.
DHIRAJ : congratulations son… hope now you will be little responsible in your life and stop those habit of yours .
Dhiraj came in front of Arav and congratulate him by hugging. He said the last part whispering beside Arav's ear so that only he could heard that.
Breaking the hug with his son, Dhiraj stood in front of his son's new bride and keep his hand above her head to give her blessing.
DHIRAJ : welcome to our family, dear. From now on you are my daughter. Don’t worry… you will have no problem in our home.
Arav's POV
I knew dad will say this. Dad had said the same things to Shipa, when she got married with my brother but alas! She betrayed our love.
Now I am little afraid if this woman also will be like her then my parents will be very hurt. They never treated Shipa as their daughter-in-law. They had always treated her like their own daughter but…Sigh!
But strange…this woman didn’t even response anything to my dad. The way she is now looking at him with her big eyes, as if dad has talked in a foreign language and she didn’t understand anything.
Mrs. Agarwal (Sujata) poke her and she looked at her mother as if she come back her senses.
What is wrong with this woman? Why is she not talking anything? Why was she looking at my dad so strangely?
My thoughts broken hearing Mrs. Agarwal’s voice.
SUJATA : Don’t mind her… she is very shy. She rarely talk with anyone(said to Dhiraj apologetically) …(turned her face towards her daughter) honey, now they are your family. There is nothing to shy about.
She looked at her mother then turned her face towards my dad and gave him a small smile.
But she still didn’t said anything… wait… is she…is she mute? That’s the reason they wanted this marriage? Because may be no one from rich family will want to marry her…and they know about my situation, yeah maybe that’s the reason that they even accepted me as their son-in-law.
Aww my poor wife! You are so beautiful but you can’t talk. Don’t worry I will not torture you. I will not give you divorce. As long as you continue this marriage I will also do the same. Don’t worry I will not judge you. Sorry for judging you before without knowing you.
But they are actually cheating us by hiding this. They should have told us. Maybe… maybe they were afraid. Yeah that’s would be the reason they are hiding this big information from us. But they should not. If she is a mute, it’s not a crime. Now I am feeling bad that I had thought so much bad thing about her and her family.
Third Person’s POV
Arav was thinking all these in mind. He was even feeling little pity for his wife that just because she is mute she had to marry him, who is so much older than him.
But within some minutes all his assumptions proved wrong and all the sympathy, respect, care whatever emotions he had for his newly wedded wife changed into anger and hatred.
Arav was immersed in his thought and Dhiraj was talking with Mr. and Mrs. Agarwal, they were ready to go… right at this moment a young man maybe in his early twenties came running towards them and stood in front of Arav's newly wedded wife.
“Prisha! How could you marry him? You love me. You have promised to elope with me. Are they threatened you?” – that young man said while panting.
Arav looked at his wife with amused expression and Dhiraj and others were looking at them frowningly.
Mr. Agarwal came in front of his daughter and asked her…
MANIK : Is he telling the truth? You love him? You plan to elope with him??
Manik was asking his daughter very calmly. He doesn’t sound angry at all. As if he was asking only for the confirmation, is he was telling the truth or no.
Mrs. Agarwal came in front of her daughter and held her arms and made her(Prisha) looked at herself.
SUJATA : Honey, tell us… is he telling the truth? Tell your dad, do you love him?
“What are you asking? Why do you care? I am telling--”the young man was going to say something but Mrs. Agarwal interrupted him.
SUJATA : You shut up! I know who you are. Manik, he is one of our maid's son. I don’t think Prisha even like her. Honey, do you love her?
PRISHA : No…
Arav was looking Prisha astonishingly. This was the first time Arav heard something from Prisha’s mouth. His misconception about her being a mute broke.
SUJATA : I knew it. How can you even expect our daughter to like you? Don’t you know your class? You can’t even able to afford a morning coffee of her and you are saying she was planning to elope with you? In your dreams… now get out from here. Prisha don’t even look at you people... Right honey? You don’t even like him… right?
PRISHA : Righ... I don’t even like you.
“Prisha!! What are you saying....” the bodyguards don’t even let the young man to complete his sentence. They drag him from there. He tried to protest… he called Prisha’s name many time but Prisha didn’t even glance at him once.
Arav looked towards his dad, who had a guilty expression on his face.
Arav's POV
Seeing dad's expression I can understand what he is now feeling.
Same thing is happening again. This time it is with me. Dad is feeling guilty for forcing me to do this marriage. I can understand his feelings.
Don’t worry dad ... I will not fall in the same trap my brother had fallen many years ago. So my innocent little wife isn’t as innocent as she looks. I was right. She is a gold digger. She loves someone but today she is marrying me for money. I was right from the start. I was even feeling guilty for thinking this.. Huh! …Prisha Agarwal… oops Prisha Malhotra… you will regret for signing the marriage certificate today. So young in age but your greed is huge. Huh! The idiom is right… don’t judge a book by its cover.
You look so innocent but now I think you ate more dangerous than 'that woman'. Don’t worry my dear little wife… I am not Dheerav Malhotra… I am Arav Malhotra. I will not fall in your trap and I will also make sure you pay for your greed.
