✨Chapter 19✨
Dylan remembered that he kept the black card with a bank because he didn't see the use for it back then. He had everything he needed and could get whatever he wanted, so he felt it would be a waste to just spend the money on his black card lavishly.
He went to meet Andrea and asked her to lend him some money, promising to pay it back as soon as he returned.
"It's just a fare, so why would you pay back? If you still want to pay the money back, then sorry, but I can't give it to you," Andrea said.
"Okay, I won't return it. Thank you so much," Dylan said and left to take a taxi.
The taxi dropped him at his destination, and he hurriedly went into the bank. After going through the necessary procedures and signing some documents, he finally got his black card.
He didn't immediately go back to Julia's mansion. He went to one of his friends instead and apologized for his behavior over the last three years.
"I never knew you would even talk to me again till the end of this world," Michael said.
"I got into an accident and lost my memory for a while. I'm really sorry" Dylan apologized.
"I saw the accident, but it was deleted just a few hours later, so I thought it was a prank or something. I called you, but your number wasn't reachable," Michael explained.
"I'm really sorry about that. Nicole used me to achieve her goal, and I stupidly fell into her trap," Dylan said.
"Why are you here today? I heard you even sold your company?" Michael asked.
"Nicole sold it. I came here today to ask if there's a way I can get the company back," Dylan asked.
"Getting it back directly will be impossible. You can, however buy shares under a different name and let it keep increasing. You might be elected as the chairman through that," Michael said.
"So that's the only way? What if I want to build another company from scratch? Which one will be better?" Dylan asked.
"I guess building another one will be better. You will be the ultimate owner once again, and I'm sure your business will do well," Michael advised.
"Alright, thank you so much. I will heed your advice and do as you've said," Dylan said and left.
"Welcome, Miss Julia," Peterson greeted Julia, who had just returned from work.
"Thank you. I hope you are well," Julia asked.
"Yes, ma'am. I don't know if I should tell you this, but Mr. Dylan left this morning and hasn't returned since then," Peterson said.
"It doesn't matter, and there's no need to tell me anything about him anymore," Julia said and went inside.
"Welcome. How was work?" Andrea asked with a smile.
"It was fine. What about the kids?" Julia asked, looking around.
"They are upstairs. They've been reading since they came back," Andrea said.
"Really? What are they reading about this time?" Julia asked and made her way upstairs.
Once in a while, the kids use to read books that they find interesting even though it's not for their age and that's probably why they are so smart.
"My cuties!" Julia called when she got to their room.
"Mommy!" they screamed and ran to her.
Usually, they would ignore anyone who comes to them whenever they are reading books like these, including her, but they must really miss her so much.
"How are you doing?" Julia asked, hugging them tight.
"We are fine, Mommy, but we don't like the fact that you are always not at home when we return from school. It was different when we were in Paris," Kayden said.
"I know, but mommy has to work, too. I'm only taking a lot of time because it's been a long time since I went to the company. I promise to start spending more time with you very soon," Julia promised.
The kids continued reading the book a few minutes later, and Julia went to her room. While she was changing her clothes, Jerry's call came in.
The reason why she was actually home a bit earlier was because she was going out on a date with Jerry.
"I will be out in a jiffy," she said and ended the call.
She hurriedly applied makeup up and picked her bag before going downstairs.
"Where are you going to?" Andrea asked before she could go out.
"I'm going out with Jerry, but we will be back soon," Julia answered.
"Okay, but why will you come back soon? You should spend more time with him," Andrea suggested.
"You seem to be forgetting that I'm a mom" Julia rolled her eyes.
"So? You have a nanny for them, and I'm also here with them. Just enjoy yourself and get rid of whatever is troubling your mind," Andrea advised.
"Thanks Andrea" Julia smiled and left.
Jerry already opened the door like the gentleman he was before she got outside and Julia smiled upon seeing him.
"Good evening," she greeted and hugged him lightly before getting into the car.
A driver was driving them, so they both sat in the back seat, and Jerry helped Julia fasten her seatbelt.
"You know, I just noticed something," Jerry said when the drive started.
"What's that?" Julia asked and faced him.
"Our names start with the letter J, and it's both five-letter words," Jerry said.
"Really?" Julia asked and spelled it in her head.
"Wow! It's true. How did I miss out on something like that?" Julia exclaimed.
"I missed it out too. It means we are meant to be, right?" Jerry smiled.
"I...I guess so," Julia stuttered and stared out of the window.
To be honest, she was worried about Dylan since he had no money on him. She wondered where he had gone to since morning but she couldn't say anything to anyone after she told him to avoid her.
"We are here," Jerry said and jolted her out of her thoughts.
He opened the door for her once again, and she stepped out of the car and placed her hand in his.
"It's beautiful, right?" Jerry asked when he saw how she stared at the place speechlessly.
It was an open space that looked like a field, but it was covered in lights with candles filling the table, and the view was just mesmerizing.
"When did you prepare all this?" Julia asked and moved closer to it.
"I started preparing it after you agreed to be my girlfriend," Jerry answered.
"Wow! It's really beautiful. Beautiful is not enough to even describe it," Julia said.
"I'm glad you like it. You've not eaten right? Let's eat first," Jerry said.
They sat down, and Julia was more surprised to see so many dishes on the table.
"How are we going to finish this when we are just two?" she asked.
"We will eat the one we can. I just asked them to prepare everything since I don't know what exactly you like," Jerry said.
"You could have just asked me." Julia rolled her eyes and started eating.
While they were eating, classical music started playing, and guitarists played to it. Looking at it made Julia remember when Dylan proposed to her.
It was almost just like this, but there were slight differences in how Dylan did his own. It was really unique, but unfortunately, they are divorced now.
"Julia!"
"Julia!"
"Julia!" Jerry called for the third time before Julia heard him.
"Uhh?" she said and looked at him.
"I've been calling you, but it's like you zoned out completely. What's wrong?" Jerry asked.
"I was just admiring them, and I guess I was too engrossed in the music. I'm sorry" she apologized.
"It's okay. If you are feeling tired, we can go back home today and come some other time," Jerry suggested.
Julia wanted to say no, but thinking about Dylan made her change her mind. She was worried about him and wanted to confirm if he had come back or not.
"Should we do that?" she asked Jerry.
"Sure," Jerry said and stood up.
He dropped her at her house and made sure she went in safely before returning to his house.
As soon as Julia got in, she went to the other house where Dylan was staying. Fortunately, she bumped into Dylan, who was also coming out of the house.
