✨Chapter 18✨
Dylan was brought in a few minutes later, and the kids were already taken upstairs by their nanny. He was feeling cold already, so Andrea gave him a blanket.
"Thank you," he mumbled.
"So, are you going to explain what happened?" Andrea asked.
"I guess it's going to be all over the news tomorrow. Nicole sold my house and company, and I don't know where she is right now. I've been trying to call her, but she's not answering. Even my credit card is empty," Dylan said.
"So Nicole was the one that ended up selling your house and company? I guess you deserve at least that much," Julia said.
"I know I deserve it, and I know that nothing I say will make you forgive me, but I just want you to know that I didn't do anything to you on purpose. I remember what happened the night you left. After you left, I followed you with my car and I was almost at the club when a truck ran into me. It was after then that I lost my memory, and only Nicole was by my side when I woke up. She confessed before she left that she changed my drugs to prevent me from regaining my memory," Dylan explained.
"So what you are trying to say is that you wouldn't have had the accident if I didn't leave the house that night?" Julia scoffed.
"No, don't get me wrong. I'm not blaming you for what happened to me; I'm only trying to explain things to you," Dylan said.
"If you really had an accident, why didn't I see it online? Even if someone that isn't popular gets into an accident, there is always news about it. Why was it different with you?" Julia asked.
"Nicole deleted the post, but I don't think you saw it before she deleted it. She deleted everything relating to the accident and said it was for my good. If you passed that place when you were leaving the club, that's if you went there, you probably would have seen the scene yourself" Dylan said.
Julia's mind suddenly flashed back to that morning. She remembered the driver talking about the accident, but she never looked at it. If she did, she would have noticed it was Dylan's car, and maybe they would still be together now.
"Whatever! You can stay in the other house with Peterson if you really want to live here, and please, avoid me during your stay here," Julia said and left.
"So Nicole only used you? She never truly loved you after all this time?" Andrea asked.
"I guess so. I don't know why Julia left the house that night, but it seemed like she was mad at me. Do you know why?" Dylan asked.
"She told me that she previously went to a hotel and saw you and Nicole in bed. An unknown number asked her to go there," Andrea said.
"No wonder. When she asked me where I was coming from, I lied to her because I didn't want her to misunderstand me not knowing she saw everything already. She must have thought I was cheating on her," Dylan said.
"What were you doing at the hotel with Nicole then? You were in the same bed, too," Andrea asked.
"Nicole told me she had something important to tell me, so I went to her. When I got there, she started saying things about being heartbroken and asked us to drink first. That's the last thing I remember, and when I woke up, it was 4 p.m. in the evening. It's obvious she drugged my drink and called Julia over to drive a wedge between us," Dylan said.
"And she succeeded. I don't know if Julia will ever forgive you, and like I told you before, she has moved on. You can go with Peterson. He will show you to your room," Andrea said and left.
*China*
Nicole and her boyfriend, Tyler Randy, arrived in China after an eleven-hour flight.
"It feels so nice to breathe in fresh air that is different from America's" Nicole remarked.
"I agree with you. It feels like I'm in a different world entirely," Tyler said.
"Our driver is here," Nicole said and went to meet the driver.
They put their things in the car, and the drive to the hotel started. Some minutes later, they arrived at their destination. After thanking the man, they went in.
Tyler was actually Nicole's boyfriend for about five years. Although Nicole is a rich model, her boyfriend comes from an average family, so when Nicole told him about her plan to take Dylan's property, he agreed and has been supporting her since then.
The plan was to leave the country as soon as she succeeded in taking Dylan's wealth, and that was exactly what they did.
*Next morning*
Julia woke up and got ready to take her kids to school as usual when she remembered that Dylan now lived in the same house as her.
"Whatever! I already told him to avoid him, so I'm sure he will listen," she said to herself.
"Good morning, Mommy" the triplets chorused when Julia got downstairs.
"Morning my cuties. But I can't believe you started eating before me," Julia pouted.
"We are sorry mommy. Aunt Andrea told us to start eating because you were taking too long to come downstairs. She said we were going to be late if we kept waiting for you," Kayden explained.
"It's okay, I was just kidding anyway" Julia said and sat down.
She ate the little she could and went out with the kids so they wouldn't be late for school.
The first person she surprisingly laid her eyes on was Dylan, and it completely changed her mood.
"Good morning," Dylan greeted.
"Good morning? Do you think there's anything good about this morning? I personally told you not to cross paths with me during your stay here, but you never listen, do you? I will let it slide just this once," Julia concluded and got into the car.
Dylan, on the other hand, returned to the room he was given and just stared into space. From being one of the richest to becoming one of the poorest overnight still seems like a dream to him.
"How can Dylan Gerald get used and dumped by a lady?" Dylan thought to himself.
He wanted to search for Nicole, but she made him stay away from all his close friends when they were together, and he didn't have the courage to face any of them because he had a problem.
He decided to take a nap since he had nothing to do and nowhere to go when he suddenly remembered something.
"My black card! I remember having a black card, and I don't think Nicole knows about that," he muttered to himself and sprang up.
