Chapter 83: His feelings
Chapter 83: His feelings
Rafael's POV
It's been minutes. I stood up and held my son tightly, who was having hiccups after crying loudly. I can't blame him. Being injected twice was something. As I walked in the hallway, my other hand was grabbing my phone. I hope she's done talking to her phone so that I can call her.
I paused when I saw the person in front of me. She's just a few meters away. I look at the door that she walks out into. OB office. She hides the paper inside her blazer coat's pocket. Ashley approaches us. She stares at my son, who was already sleeping in my arms. I step back. "Stay away from me and my son," I coldly stated.
"He's so cute, just like you," Ashley says.
She turned pale when she saw how deadly my glare is. Her hands that are supposed to touch Mikael were hanging in the air. "If we had a child from that day, he or she might be two years old by now as well," Ashley says. I scoff.
"Didn't I already tell you? I made sure we won't be having one," I grunted. Her face turns sour.
"Rafael, are you really turning your back on me because of Ella? I should be blaming you, yelling at you because of the lie you created. My life was ruined."
She frowns and shows her true colors. The true her that I blindly ignore. I look at my son. He was the fruit of that night. The day that I forced myself on Ellasandra while making her suffer for this bitch. "Like I said, she will never love you. She just wants you to be attached, and when the day comes, you'll be left alone with nothing."
She's about to touch me again, but I step back, making sure her dirty hands won't touch me. "I don't care whether everything was just a part of her plans. If she wants to get even, I'll gladly, blindly, and crazily accept it. She can crush me into dust. I wouldn't care," I remarked. It's the truth.
"I'll savor these moments while she and our son stay with me. I'll be giving them everything that I have. I'll offer it with my two hands." Ashley's eyes were looking at me weirdly. She must have noticed that I'm serious. "Let's be real. The woman who loves me unconditionally was HER, not YOU. And I?" I halt.
"I destroyed the person I love because I'm an asshole. If she wants me to die, I'm going to kill myself. As for you? Stay away from her and our child. If you keep on sowing discord between us, I won't back down." My expression turned darker while keeping eye contact with Ashley.
"I'd rather drag you and Matthew six feet underground to make sure Ella and our son will live a carefree life." She gulps and steps back herself.
"You..." she whispers. I slowly smirk. "You should worry about your situation. I know Matthew well. He won't be happy with that news. After all, you're just also one of his women," I assert. She laughs and looks at me.
"What if it's yours?" Ashley declares. I laugh. "Really?" I utter meaningfully.
Ellasandra's POV
I was standing behind this corner, listening to Rafael's conversation with Ashley. I was on my way back to my son's pediatric doctor when I saw him walking in the hallway. I was about to call him, but he turned on his left side. He didn't see me. I rushed my way to catch up with them, but I saw Ashley.
I decided not to show myself yet, which I'm happy I didn't. I know there are things that my husband was keeping from me, especially his true feelings and anxieties. I peek at them. I saw how my husband took the paper in Ashley's hands. His laughter was stained with mockery.
"It was said here that you're seven weeks pregnant, which means it's between March 6 and 10, the date of conceiving."
He throws the paper in Ashley's face. "I was in Spain from February 27 to April 3. I never came home between those weeks. If I remember it right, a person can't split his body into two, right?" Rafael utters sarcastically. "Alright. You already knew about me and Matthew. But I realize that you're the one that I truly love and..." Rafael didn't let her finish. He walks away as fast as he can. I take a step and start to follow them. I purposely bumped Ashley's shoulder, and she fell. I turn my head.
I smirk. "He's now my puppy. Does it ring a bell, hmm?"
I didn't listen to what she would say and just ran so that I could catch up with them. I saw them turning on the right side again. "Love, wait!" I called. Rafael halts and looks back. I smiled and walked properly. "I told you to wait for me, right?" I utter. He smiled sadly.
"I should've listened. Someone ruined my day after I decided to look for you," Rafael says. I grab his arms and give him a smack on his lips.
"I'm craving pizza. Can we have some before we head home?" I ask. My husband's gaze was piercing, yet he remained silent. I raise my other hand and caress his cheeks. "What is it, love?" I whispered.
"Let's talk about it inside the car," he calmly stated. I didn't argue and just walked next to him. At the parking lot.
He put down our son in the backseat and made sure he had his protection belt. I still remember when his secretary sent me a picture where my husband was busy buying a baby car seat. He opens the passenger seat after. As soon as he gets inside, he turns his face and grabs my neck.
"Love?"
Rafael's gaze was giving me fuzzy feelings. "I love you."
His voice was soft, gentle, and full of love when he uttered those three words. My heart skipped a beat and pounded so fast after a few seconds. "Kiss me," I utter out of the blue. I blink and raise my hands, waving.
"No! I mean, it's not what you think. Like!" I covered my face and stopped blabbering nonsense! My damn goodness!
"Love?" I put down my hands and meet his gaze. My eyes widened when I realized how close his face was against mine.
"I loved you more than you think I did. More than you do for me," he says. "Then... can you do something for me?"
