Chapter 82: Her true feelings
Chapter 82: Her true feelings
Ellasandra's POV
I have a bad feeling about it. "I don't know either." He cancels the call and stands up. "Let's go to bed instead."
He carries me, and we lie down on the bed. The next morning. "Love, Mikael has an appointment with his pediatrician. He needs to have his measles and polio shots," I remarked. He forced a smile. "I'll bathe him then." I stopped him from leaving.
I held his face and checked his wound. Chris had gone too far. This is the moment I decided to give Rafael the second chance he deserves. I've been cautious. Yes, I trusted him and believed that he had changed for the better. He proves that to me. The way he treated Ashley. The way he never believes in her lies as easily as he did before.
I guess faking my death had taken a toll on him. It made him realize my worth. "Why are you trying new styles? Where are your clothes?" I ask.
I woke up a little late. It's already past eight. Our son was already taken by his nanny. I already noticed that his wardrobe was completely changed. From his all-black suit and long sleeves, it turned into white and cream. Also, his casual clothes, from polo shirts, turned to white, blue, and khaki colors. His pants were jeans. This is not his aesthetic.
"I was just thinking that maybe if I... changed a little bit, you'll never remember the past," he says.
I spread his legs and sit on his thigh. "If I really hold a grudge towards you, do you really think I'll come back and expose the truth? I already faked my death and returned to my world. I'm Ellasandra Winters, an heiress of the strongest and richest family in our continent. I lowered my dignity for you twice, Rafael," I whispered.
He held my face and smiled with such sadness in his eyes. "That's why it feels like I don't deserve you, most especially the chances you gave to me. For the past two years until now, I keep on dreaming of all the horrible things I did to you," Rafael mutters. I wrapped my hand around his neck.
"I can undergo plastic surgery to change my... nghn," he moans.
I sealed his mouth and stopped him from uttering nonsense. I break the kiss and rub my finger on his lower lip. "You don't have to change your styles and face just to prove that you regretted what you did." I grab his palm and place it in my heart.
"I'm still foolishly in love with you. But let me warn you, love. This is your last chance. Don't take it for granted, okay?" I added.
He leans his face on my chest and holds me tightly. "Umm... I know," he replied.
I give my heart to him again because I know he won't disappoint me again. But I guess I have to help him heal the most. What happened between us was eating him from within. My physical pain had long gone. I already forgive and forget; that's why I'm slowly healing. I held his face and sought a gentle, warm kiss.
Rafael's POV
After I learned Ashley's true colors and their plans, the guilt ate me completely. It intensifies that I found myself in the kitchen, staring at the knives, giving thought to stabbing my heart a thousand times until I bleed to death, lying in the pool of my blood.
"As for these clothes, I'm giving them to unfortunate people. Go back to your usual aesthetic. You don't have to change your wardrobe just to show your sincerity," Ellasandra says. My wife hides the fact that she's a wealthy heiress. Much richer than I do.
She did that to be with me, yet I let her suffer gravely. I can't believe I've hurt such an innocent person. I'm really sick. "Oh, by the way, love, I'm fertile next week based on my reproductive calendar. I've been wishing to have at least five children. You know, being an only child was lonely," my wife says. I look at her. She already hinted to me of her desire to have other children, but five?
"No. Two will do. I can't let your body suffer because of pregnancy," I stated. She smirks. "Are you sure I can't trick you?" Ellasandra says.
I held her chin and met her gaze. "Then I have to buy hundreds of boxes of condoms to make sure I'm keeping my word," I stated. She snuck a quick kiss on my lips. "Then I'll buy thousands of needles," she replied after. I pointed my finger at her, and yet she uses that to flirt with me. She wraps her tongue around it, licking my finger like it’s a popsicle.
"Just be you. That's all that matters to me, Rafael."
She embraced me tightly for minutes. After we had breakfast, my wife and I brought our son for his vaccine shots. I made sure I was the one holding him. I wasn't there with them for two years. I want him to know that his dad wants him. That I'm thankful he came into our lives. While sitting on the chair, I watch the nurse as they prepare the syringe for his first vaccine shot.
I frowned while staring at the needle and grabbed my son's arm. "Is that safe?" I ask. The nurse laughs. "Of course, Sir. All vaccines were carefully made and tested. We won't administer this vaccine if it's not," she explains.
I still stare at the syringe that she's now holding. "Daddy?" Mikael called. My attention shifts to my son. I covered his eyes.
"It's okay, son. Daddy is here."
I stopped the nurse when she grabbed my son's arm. "Wait! I was talking about the needle, not the vaccine. I want the smallest needle."
She blinks, and her eyes tell me that she's smiling behind her mask. "Sir, don't worry. This is the smallest needle suitable for infants to kids."
I was ready to argue when my wife lifted my chin and forced me to meet her eyes. "Honey, they know what they're doing. You're making our son more nervous!" Ellasandra says.
He let go of my face. "Okay then," he says. The nurse pokes the needle and pushes the liquid. After the second one was given to Mikael, he starts crying. "Hon, wait for me here. I'll just answer this."
