Chapter 42


Mayank's POV:
After arranging everything I sat in my car and drove to my home. I opened the door with the spare keys and made my way towards my room. 'I will do anything to make her forget that horrible past' I said to myself with an assuring smile.
I entered my room and found her sleeping on the bed. I sat near her and placed a kiss on her forehead while an adoring smile stretched on my lips. I tried to wake her up but she was in a deep sleep so I picked her up and walked out of my room.
She stirred in her sleep and opened her eyes. "Where are you taking me?" She asked when I was descending the stairs. "I have a surprise for you" I answered and she frown.
I made her sit on the passenger seat and buckled her seat belt and I occupied the driving seat and drove off. "Where are we going?" She asked. "You will get to know soon" I answered.
"At least just tell me, where are we going?" She asked impatiently when I didn't answer her. She huffed and looked out of the window, making me chuckle. "You are driving more than an hour, how long will it take?" she asked again. "Shhh! You talk so much. Just wait a little more" I said and after that, she didn't ask anything.
After a while, we reached there. I got out of the car and went to her side. I unbuckled her seat belt and she came out of the car. I knotted the blindfold on her eyes. "Why this blindfold?" She questioned again.
"Shhh! You will get to know. Just follow me" I said and held her hand guiding her steps. It's getting difficult for her to walk with closed eyes so I picked her in my arms and she encircled her hands around my neck and I started walking.
I put her down once we reached the destination and I opened her blindfold and stood behind her. Her eyes lit up as she looked around. She turned towards me and engulfed me in a tight hug. I also wrapped my arms around her.
"How do you like it?" I asked. "I love it, it's super mesmerizing," she said excitedly. We sat under the tent and had her favorite ice cream with a little bit of talk. I took her to the shore of the beach and we played with water throwing water on each other.
She was looking happy wholeheartedly. We walked on the beachside with our intertwined hands and after that, we sat in the tent. I fished out my phone and ordered the man to start the fireworks.
She was looking at the sky in aww when the whole dark sky lit up with fireworks. I took her picture without her knowing. She looked at me with a bright smile which only belongs to me and hugged me whispering thank you. I also wrapped my arms around her, taking her in my embrace protectively.
"Are you happy?" I asked. "More than happy.thank you so much this is the best surprise" she nodded and mumbled on my chest. She looked up at me without breaking the hug and leaned up our lips met for a soft kiss. She kissed me softly, moving her lips against mine. I responded with the same passion. We kissed without any rush. There was peace in my heart and I know I can make everything alright.
We broke the kiss and rested our forehead together while our eyes were closed. "Let's go home," I said and she nodded. She sat in my car while I occupied the driving seat and began the engine. Soon she falls asleep on our way home. I halted the car in front of the mansion and got out of the car.
She was sleeping and I don't want to disturb her sleep so I picked her in my arms and walked inside the mansion. Ascending the stairs my hand knocked with the near vase and it broke falling onto the ground. I found Kriya's room lights are still open I thought to check up on her but Seher is sleeping so I went to my room first and laid her down covering her with the duvet I placed a kiss on her forehead.
I walked out of my room and went to Kriya's room. I knocked on the door twice and she opened the door. "Bro, why are you here?" She asked. "I saw your room lights on so thought to check up on you. Why are you still up" I answered and asked further. She looked nervous.
"I woke up for...for drinking water" she stammered while I raised my left brow. "Ok, sleep now," I said and went to my room. I laid beside her wrapping my arms around her waist pulling her closer to me. I can't sleep with her in my arms. She is my peace. Soon darkness engulfed me. ________________________________

She was sleeping in her room when her phone started ringing. She searched her phone with closed eyes and picked it up.
"Hello" her sleepy voice came out. "You slept?" He asked. She opened her eyes and saw the caller id it's showing Rohan. "No, I am dancing in the middle of the night," she answered, rolling her eyes. "Really, Then I also want to join you," he said, being all excited and sitting upon his bed.
"Seriously Rohan" she rolled her eyes at his excitement though he couldn't see her. "I am serious" he answered much to her annoyance. "Then come here, bye," she said with a tight-lipped smile and hung up the call and laid down again.
After a while, she felt someone caressing her hair. She opened her eyes and smiled in her sleep then closed her eyes again only to get a shock. She thought she was dreaming but it's true.
"What are you doing here?" She asked as she sat up on the bed. "You asked me to come," he said, laying beside her on the bed.
"Are you crazy? I didn't" she protested. "I was missing you so," he said, smiling at her. "Rohan, you have to go," she said and stood up pulling him out of the bed.
"You always kick me out of your house. You are still mad at me" he said dramatically and it worked on her. "It's not like that Rohan, It's 3 am" she reasoned.
"So what. Wait! Are you afraid?" He said with a mischievous smile and she looked away shaking her head. "No... Why would I?" She stammered and he burst into a fit of laughter. "Look at your face," he managed to say between his laugh and she smacked on his arm.
"No one will see us. Everyone must be in their rooms" he said and sat on the couch. "But... " her sentence cut off and a gasp left her mouth as he pulled her on his lap.
"Shhh, you think too much, I told you na, nothing will happen" he whispered and her body erupted with goosebumps. He traced her face with his fingers and she closed her eyes leaning on his touch. His breath fanned on her face and butterflies started dancing in her stomach.
Their lips were about to meet when she stood jerking him up as they heard the car honk. She peeped from her window and saw Mayank's car outside.
"Bhai(bro) is here, he will catch us. Oh God, it will be too embarrassing. What will he think of me?" She started panicking pacing in her room here and there.
"Hey, hey, hey. Just relax ok. My car is far away from there so your brother won't catch me" he said cupping her cheeks. "Now shall we continue where we left?" He asked huskily, leaning close to her face.
But again their romantic moment got disturbed by the sound of something breaking. She went to the door and peeked outside and saw Mayank ascending the stairs while carrying Seher in his arms. Her eyes widened in realization because their room is exactly next to her.
She closed the door carefully and came to him. "You have to go," she said. "Seriously, your Bhai na, he is the villain in my romance" he muttered. "Aren't you afraid of Bhai?" She asked with a frown. "I am not afraid of anyone" he answered, raising his stake high and she rolled her eyes at his statement.
Then they heard a knock on the door. She immediately hides him behind the curtains of the window. She was afraid but she opened the door gathering her courage.
"Bro, why are you here?" She asked. "I saw your room lights are on so thought to check up on you. Why are you still up?" Mayank answered and asked further while kriya looked nervous. "I woke up for...for drinking water" she stammered and he raised his eyebrow.
"Ok, sleep now," he said and went to his room. She closed the door and sighed in relief leaning on the door. "Is he gone?" He asked and she nodded. "Ok then I am also leaving, see you at the college he said and went towards the window.
"Wait" he stopped and turned towards her. "Are you planning to leave from here?" She asked, pointing towards the window and he nodded. "Let's go downstairs, I will open the backside door for you," she said and he agreed.
They descended the stairs carefully without anyone knowing and she opened the door of the backside of the mansion. "Bye," he said and kissed her forehead. "Bye," she said smiling. He turned and started walking out of the mansion and she smiled mischievously.
"Bhai you here" hearing her scared voice he turned back being afraid and she burst into laughter. "I am not afraid of anyone" she mimicked his line and laughed more. He shook his head at her childishness and a smile stretched on his lips. After bidding her goodbye he left and she went to her room and slept.
