"You remember you went to Delhi before Seher's birthday," Ashwini asked him and he nodded yes.
"You met with an accident there" and he nodded his head. He was confused because he didn't tell anybody about it nor did his family know about his accident before.
"That was not an accident, that was planned," she said and he was dumbfounded. "Samar proposed to her during that time and he was expecting her to say yes to him but Seher didn't think about him more than her best friend so she denied. But he could not bear her refusal and in anger and passion he took a very wrong step which ruined everyone's life" she said recalling the past when she found Sheela (Seher's mother) drenched in a pool of her own blood.
"He was in his rage and planned your accident but somehow you survived. So he blackmailed Seher that if she won't break your heart and agrees with him then he will kill you. She was so scared she couldn't believe that he was her own best friend who was threatening her" she said with a sigh and he was drenched in guilt now.
Seher did all this only for him and what he did was shouted at her and said so many ill words to her. She was never wrong, never, it was he who behaved like a jerk and hurt her without her any fault. Guilt took over him and a drop of tears fell down his cheeks.
"And on her birthday everything happened" she slowly said and he was listening to her calmly. "You left India the next day, you must remember she had called you that time," Ashwini asked. "Yes she did" he whispered closing his eyes holding his tears back that time if he stopped then all this shouldn't happen. "Don't feel bad, Mayank. That time the situation made you behave like that" she said not in anger but in a soothing way.
"Samar didn't stop after you left. He became a psychopath. He was mentally sick, he just wanted her in his life anyhow. Seher was under so much stress that she fell sick and was hospitalized. I was in Canada at that time and as soon as I get the news I immediately came back. I was treating her. She seems like losing her will power to live her life. And one night before her discharge he kidnapped her from the hospital" as those words left her mouth his eyes turned red into anger for Samar.
"He kidnapped her and it took us three days to find his whereabouts, where he caged her. I and Sheela bhabi arrived at that place. He was forcing her to marry him and forcefully trying to knot the nuptial chain on her neck. Seher was barely in her consciousness because he injected her. But Sheela bhabi came just in time and stopped him from going further. She pushed him and untied Seher's hand and freed her. But Samar got very angry and picked his gun and shot Bhabi" she said and tears formed in her eyes.
"She died on the spot. It was too difficult for us and Seher's condition was getting worse day by day. She started taking depression pills and became dependent on her medicines. It was too difficult to handle her" She said and his heart clenched hearing about her condition. She had to go through so many difficult phases. And he was trying to take revenge on her at first. He was feeling ashamed of himself when he had to be there he was not he left.
"All this much happened and she didn't even tell me anything," he asked himself in disappointment. He was hurt but he was more guilty. "She wanted to tell you everything but you misunderstood her," she said. "I am sorry aunty. I should have been there for her but I was not. I left her when she needed me the most. I should be by her side that time but what I did I left her that time to deal with this all alone. If I didn't leave then Sheela aunty didn't die. Samar didn't torture her. She didn't have to go through all this" he said guilt was visible in his broken voice. His tears rolled down his cheeks. "It was not your fault neither was she. It was the situation that parted you both. Don't blame yourself, Mayank" Ashwini said
"He tortured her a lot mentally. He locked her in a dark room for two days. That's why she is still suffering from nyctophobia. It left a huge impact on her mental health. She saw her mother dying in front of her eyes. She blamed herself for all this and that Sheela bhabi is not with us anymore. She had some minor scars on her body when I took her home back but thankfully he didn't harass her physically" she said and he was shaking in anger fisting his palm.
"She was in a depression for two years. She was taking anti-depression pills for two years but somehow I managed to make her get rid of her depression pills but those nightmares still scare her" she told him everything because it will be not good to hide this from him anymore. Now Mayank was burning in rage. All he just wants is to kill Samar with his bare hands.
"I will kill him. He has to pay for his deeds" he said between his gritted teeth and stood up to go out of the cabin ready to kill him when Ashwini stopped him. "Mayank don't be impulsive. This is not the time to kill him" she told him, raising her voice because it was needed for him to control his anger. "You should be with her now. My Seher suffered a lot. I don't want her happiness to be snatched away from her now" Ashwini said helplessly.
"I promise you aunty. I will always be there for her. I will never let any harm touch her. I will protect her. I won't let her suffer anymore" he said wiping his tears and Ashwini smiled in tears whispering thank you and smiled at him and he smiled back in return.

Mayank's POV:
I came home after meeting with Ashwini aunty. I couldn't bear this thing. She had to go through so many difficulties and what I did I also punished her. I am such a jerk.
"Mayank let's go downstairs, dinner is ready" her voice broke the chain of my trance. "What happened? Were you crying?" She asked as she sat beside me cupping my cheeks. "Nothing" I shook my head trying to smile but failed.
"Mayank please tell me what happened why are you crying?" She asked and I found tears formed in her eyes. She was ready to cry. "I love you," I said, wiping her tears and hugging her tightly. And now I promised myself I will not let any harm come near you. You don't have to suffer anymore. I will always be by your side Seher, always.
I broke the hug and stared into her beautiful doe eyes which were filled with love and care. I leaned and pressed my lips against her forehead and let my lips linger there for some more time.
I kissed her eyes then I pressed a soft kiss on her both cheeks tracing down to the jawline I showered her face with the kisses then at last I pressed my lips against her lips. I moved my lips softly and slowly felt the love. She also started responding and kissed me slowly. I broke the kiss and cupped her cheeks and pecked her forehead lovingly.
"I love you too Mayank, always" she whispered with her closed eyes while a smile played on her lips.
After dinner, everyone retired to their rooms and we also came to our room. She changed into her nightdress and laid down on the bed. I sat near her and stroked her hair. She smiled at me, closing her eyes. When she finally slept I came out of the room and fished out my phone from my pocket and dialed a number.
"Everything is done," I asked. "Yes sir, we have delivered all the things to the given address," a person said from another side. "Good," I said and hung up the call. I picked my car keys and walked out of the mansion. I sat in my car and started the engine.
I stopped my car in front of the beach. I walked near the sea. The cold wind was sending chills to my body. The moon was shining in the night. The atmosphere was too romantic for a date. I quickly unwrapped all the boxes and took out the things in them.
I planned a date for her and set up all the things just like before. That time we couldn't make it but this time I will fulfill all her wishes.
I put up a tent and placed the comfy cushion there for sitting and arranged the woods for the bonfire in the middle and decorated the whole area with the fairy lights and also prepared all her favorite dishes. I also prepared fireworks . She loves it.
