Chapter one hundred and seven: Jason and Jane.
Chapter one hundred and seven: Jason and Jane.
FLASHBACK.
When Mike was in prison to get the book of evidence as we may call it, when he was visited by Jason in the clinic Ward, and after Jason told Mike that he had a month before his sentence was over, Mike knew that he would be a potential ally. So Mike gave him a written note that had the time and date to call him after he had been released.
BACK TO PRESENT.
Mike gives Jason instructions on where to meet him but before then Mike has some work to do with books he got from the house of Mrs. Parker.
Meanwhile, at the station, Officer Joe was back from his investigation, he was still struggling to believe that Mike could do such a thing.
Officer Joe was in his office but the case was still on his mind, he got up from the chair and went to see Mason in his cell.
Mason was just seated, tired and his head was faced down. Officer Joe came to his cell and he stood outside the bars while Mason was behind bars.
Mason noticed someone standing there, he looked at Officer Joe, who sat upright and said “Are you here for another questioning section?” Mason asked.
“No not really, I just want to talk to you and probably ask some questions,” Officer Joe asked.
“I see, I just wanted to remind you that I can't be kept here for twenty-four hours, and it's almost time, I will be needing my lawyer now,” Mason said.
“We are working on that but do you know that Mike is now a murder suspect ?” Officer Joe said.
Mason looked surprised and said, “I don't think so what made you say that?” Mason asked.
Officer Joe brought out a picture of the crime scene and he showed Mason, “Do you know this person?” Officer Joe asked.
”not really, what happened?” Mason asked.
Officer Joe put back the picture into his pocket and said “We found her dead in her apartment, the most surprising thing is that we found food, already made and they were warm, not cold, that means someone else apart from Mrs. Parker, the woman in the picture, was in the house,”. He gave his analysis.
“So how all of these are related to Mike,” Mason asked logically.
“That is the question, I want to ask. We have some clothes and that was the same outfits Mike wore when he escaped our raid at first, so that is the point of view we are all going with right now,” Officer Joe said.
“That makes no sense, what if the warm found that you found was Mrs. Parker who made the food and she was interrupted by someone, which is probably the killer because in the picture it seems she died at her doorstep, am I right?” Mason asked.
“You might but that does not explain the clothes we found and the two bullet holes found on Mrs. Parker's dead body,” Officer Joe said. He picked interest in the mad analysis, even though it seems he was trying to cover for Mike.
“For the clothes, it might be to someone else who might have lived in the house before but Mike does not use guns, and he does not kill. Don't you see that something is going on behind the scenes? This a setup to frame Mike, you are the only one that can understand and break the system, just by doing the right thing,” Mason said.
Officer Joe thought of it and remembered what Mike said on the rooftop and what he discovered in the basement at the store.
Officer Joe dived into his investigation about the past, he went through old files that were in the store because police Commissioner Reynold blocked the ones in the computer.
Police Officer Joe went through all the files he could find, and finally, he saw an old file that was kept in the storage room by the former commissioner Mr. Parker. Officer Joe sneaked it back to his office and he went through it.
As Officer Joe went through the file, he saw the names of the officers involved in the arrest of Mr. Jack and it was Matthew and Reynold but there was no specific reason for arresting him.
Officer Joe saw that billionaire Andrew was the one who pushed the case forward. Officer Joe did a background check on Mr. Jack and it was stated that he had a son but his son was taken in by an anonymous helper, for some time.
Officer Joe picked a one and paper and wrote down “WHO IS THE ANONYMOUS HELPER?”.
He also found out that it was the same Matthew that was reported to be shot dead close to Mike with a gun in his hand, and then Officer Joe realized that there was a connection somewhere.
As he was going through the files, he heard “What are doing? And why is that file dusty?”.
He looked up and it was Officer Ruby.
Miss. Jane, on the other hand, decided to care less about what was happening because of her father. Miss. Jane also thinks about Mike but she can do nothing to save him.
Jane was in her room that afternoon, she did not go to work, she got a call when she picked up, it was Mike. She was happy.
“Mike, good to hear from you, I am so sorry about what happened last time,” Jane said over the phone.
“Don't worry about it, it was meant to happen, can we meet up one more time?” Mike asked over the phone.
“Yeah think we can, I would love to, when?” miss. Jane asked. With a smile on her face.
“I will send you an email, and we have a lot to discuss, especially about us, just for old-time sake,” Mike said over the phone.
“Yeah for old times sake,” Miss. Jane said. When the call ended miss. Jane was glad that Mike was finally given in to her wish of being with him not knowing that there was something else in plan.
Officer Joe took a drive, let just say he was on patrol that afternoon and he decided to stop by a restaurant and have lunch, he was joined by Officer Ruby.
They both sat and had lunch together and discussed the case and some other topics, officer Joe mistakenly spilled ketchup on his shirt. He could not get the stain off. The law enforcers finished their lunch.
They went back to the car and then Officer Joe was about to get into the car when his phone rang and it was an unknown number, he picked up and he asked: “Who is this?”.
“It's Mike, listen, I want us to meet,” Mike said over the phone.
“Okay I am listening but how did you get my number?” Officer Joe asked.
“That should not be the question, that you are supposed to be asking, look, this is what I want, I will give you evidence and you assist me, deal?” Mike asked for d over the phone.
Officer Joe was still in shock. “Okay… okay deal…”. Officer Joe was looking around to check if he could spot Mike.
“See you there, I will send you the address, and one more thing,” Mike said.
“And what is that?” Officer Joe asked.
“The stain on your shirt, use dish soap solution or vinegar, it will remove the stain, you are welcome,” Mike said.
“What? How do you know?”
