“Pearl, we need to talk…” Mike said. Mike stopped Pearl on her way to work.

“What?! Are you sticking or something?!” Pearl said. She yelled, some people turned around and she looked at them, they could not identify Mike be Mike covered his face partially.

“Do not cause a scene,” Mike said. He had Pearl's hands, as he tried to calm her down.

“Don't touch me!” Pearl said. She removed Mike's hand from her hand, she did not want to talk to her.

“Do know that I can get you arrested for coming close to me? It is against the divorce agreement. Besides you are wanted already, so it will be such a pity if I report you to the police,” Pearl said. She pointed, questioned, shouted, and frowned at Mike.

Mike looked around and noticed that some people had started staring at them. “Shh!!! Pearl just listen for once,”. Mike said. He begged her to listen to what he had to say.

“I don't have much time besides, I am going late to work, please excuse me,” Pearl said. She gave Mike a gentle push to move aside and Mike did.

As Pearl was about to leave Mike withheld her, and he moved her to a corner of a building close by. Mike took Pearl to a building by force but Pearl did not struggle with him.

Mike and Pearl went to a corner of the building, there was no one there, and the ally was a bit shade, you could not see anyone standing there, it was a bit dark.

“Get your city hands off me!” Pearl commanded, he shrugged off his hands from her, helping her escape his grip. Pearl was mad at Mike. Pearl was not looking for a way to walk away from Mike if she was mad, as she was acting.

“Listen to me!” Mike said, with a loud voice, Pearl kept quiet and looked up at him because Mike was taller than Pearl.

Mike took off the scarf that was covering his face, he looked at Pearl without saying a word, the same thing Pearl did when Mike took off his scarf.

Pearl could see the scars on Mike's face, the stress and pain he was in. “Look, you look, stressed, what happened to you?” Pearl asked she stretched her hands and Pat Mike's face gently. Pearl realized the pain Mike was in, she felt compassion on him.

“A lot, a lot happened to me, lately,” Mike replied. He closed his eyes as he felt the touch of Pearl his ex-wife.

“So what do want to talk about?” Pearl asked. She decided to listen to Mike.

“I wanted to let you know that I will be gone for a while, I mean, very long time,” Mike said, as he looked Pearl straight in the eye.

“Huh? Strange. Because that is not new, for the past few days, you have been on the run, every single day you are in the news, either in jail today, or wanted for an unusual crime. Do you know what you have done?!” Pearl asked angrily.

“No, you are not! Do you that you made me and Roy's life a leaving hell?!” Pearl asked angrily again, she was getting so emotional.

I can't go anywhere without someone pointing fingers at me or Roy, saying that they are related to the thief, if not we got divorced a long time ago before you got into this mess, I might lost my job or Roy could have been kicked out of school because he might be a bad influence, do you think about all of these things?! Before venturing into this stupid path of revenge,” Pearl asked angrily again.

Mike was sad, he kept quiet as he watched Pearl speak her mind. “Mike, Mike, look, you are delaying me, let me get you right, so you pulled me to the side tell me that you are going away for a long period and you are sorry for what you have done, am I right?!” Pearl asked angrily again.

Mike was still quiet, he just nodded.

“Mike, look, I am tired! I am tired! I am sick! And tired Of you,” Pearl said angrily.

“Oh my goodness! Men! All the same! I am going,” Pearl said. She adjusted her clothes and she was about to walk out when Mike stopped her.

Pearl sighs heavily as she is been blocked by Mike, but for no reason, she refuses to push him away, instead, she gently moves back to where she stood when talking to Mike.

“What now? Why did you block me?” Pearl asked calmly.

Mike looked around, to check if anyone was coming, but there was no one. “Please wait, before you go, just let me complete my statement, can you do that for me?” Mike asked politely as he touched Pearl's shoulders.

Pearl looked to her side and she exhaled and said “Go on, I am listening,”.

“Thank you. As I said before, I will be going away but this time, it is my last ride if I am shot or killed or arrested and sentenced to a long time in prison, it is my fate, I have found enough evidence to end this and at the end, I know that the law will catch up with me and I will be gone forever, I just wanted to say sorry and tell Roy, I apologize also, that is all I wanted to say,” Mike said, his speech was emotional.

“I see, apology accepted, but you all a lot of people apologies, starting with Mason, I heard he is in jail, he needs your assistance, don't you think so?” Pearl asked.

“Yes, I know that, and I am working towards that,” Mike said.

There was a moment of silence, Mike and Pearl stared at each other and with a smile on their faces.

Pearl decided to ruin the moment, “Umm... So you have to be going now right? Pearl asked as she looked at Mike.

“Yeah, I must be going now,” Mike said. He moved back and he covered his face with the scarf again.

“Wait! Can I get a hug?” Pearl asked. That was a strange request from someone you divorced but Mike agreed.

Mike and Pearl hugged.

“I could not reach you on your cell phone, why?” Pearl asked as she let go of Mike's shoulders.

“I threw away the phone but I have the sim card on me, I put it on any cell phone when I want to make a call, so that is why,” Mike said.
