Chapter one hundred and eight: the meeting.

“What? How do you know?” Officer Joe asked, he was surprised that Mike knew he spilled ketchup on his shirt.

“Mike, where are you?!” Officer Joe asked he kept looking around, and Officer Ruby noticed the facial expressions on Officer Joe's face.

Officer Ruby looked around also to see what Officer Joe was looking for but she couldn't see anything.

“Mike answer me, where are you we… we can discuss here, right now, I am ready, remember you buddy is in the cell, talk to me Mike,” officer Joe said. He looked at his phone and he realized that Mike had already ended the call, the moment he gave him the advice on what to use to get the ketchup stain off the shirt.

“Was that Mike?” Officer Ruby asked.

“Yeah, it is him,” Officer Joe said.

“What did he say?” Officer Ruby asked. Officer Joe has trust issues, so he does not trust Officer Ruby with all the information, he has gathered from his investigation of the case, so he lies.

“Ummm.. He called and he was talking about that is our in custody, that is all,” Officer Joe says.

“Really?” Officer Ruby asked.

“Yeah, it is unbelievable, I don't even know how he got my number,” Officer Joe said. He turned to Officer Ruby.

“Okay, let us go then,” Officer Ruby said, she got into the car.

Officer Joe turned around and looked across the streets, where a payphone was, and he saw the phone dangling, and then he knew that Mike was calling from the payphone across the streets which is why he could see the stain on his shirt.

Officer Joe looked further if he could see Mike but he could not. “Joe! Let us go! And stop acting weird,” Officer Ruby said, she called his attention from inside the car.

“Okay…okay... I am coming,” Officer Joe said, he entered the police car and they zoomed off.

FLASHBACK.

Mike got a call from Jason.

“Hello,” Mike said.

“Hey Mike, it is Jason from the prison, reporting for duty,”

“Splendid!” Mike said,

“Where should we meet?” Jason asked over the phone.

“Southham,” Mike replied.

“Alright see you there,” Jason said, he ended the call.

Jason and Mike met each other at the agreed location.

“Nice to see,” Mike said.

“Yeah, same here, you caused a lot of trouble, so far after the prison escape,” Jason said.

“Yeah, I know. So how long have been out of jail?” Mike asked.

“Let me say up to a month now, I went to work immediately following our plan,” Jason said.

“Nice. So what do you have for me?” Mike asked.

“ a lot, I have been following Officer Joe's routine, he will be at a restaurant in a few hours, then, you can contact him and give him the invitation,”

Jason said.

“Nice, thank you for your help by the way,” Mike said. He gave him a handshake.

“I just want to join and stop the bad guys, and turning a new leave,” Jason said.

Meanwhile, Officer Joe was still in the office going through these files before Officer Ruby came in and interrupted, he immediately covered up what he was doing because he did not trust anyone.

Moments later, they went to have lunch and you know what happened next.

BACK TO PRESENT.

Mason was given a lawyer, and he tried in court but he was not found guilty of any allegations brought up against him, in court.

Police Commissioner Reynold and his partner billionaire Andrew were aware of this lawsuit against Mason Mike's partner, but they did not interfere because he was not their target.

Mason was granted bail and he was released but he asked himself, “Was Mike making any effort to release him?” but Mike knew about his release because it was all over the news.

Mason got to his store first, it was already unsealed by the police after he was found innocent and granted bail.

Mason opened the door of his store, his store was turned upside down, and everything was scattered. The police officers who dropped him off, brought in some of the stuff that was seized.

Mason looked at his store and asked himself, “Where should he start from?”. The police officers left only ton the store and heard, “Don't worry I got you covered,”

Mason turned around and he saw Mike. “My goodness, where have you been?!” Mason asked out of excitement and annoyance.

“I know you are angry with me but I am sorry,” Mike said.

“I'm not angry but it's fine. How have you been?” Mason asked.

“Not too well lately, I am injured from a bullet, long story,” Mike said.

“Yeah, I know but how are going to fix it? I mean my stuff and store is a mess,” Mason said.

Mike brought a piece of the diamond out of his pocket and he gave it to Mason. “I think this will do,” Mike said with a smile on his face.

“Wow! How did you….”

“I took it a long time ago,” Mike said, as he interrupted Mason's statement.

“When? And how? Mason asked.

“Right before the whole police chase, when I got back from prison, I went downstairs to get a change of clothes, then I had an idea of removing the diamond necklace just in case your store was raided by the police, and it happened,” Mike said.

“I appreciate, so what are you up to now you can't let them think they have won, right?” Mason asked.

“No, I won't let them. I am working on something and it involves using his daughter against him,” Mike said.

Mike sent a message to Officer Joe through an anonymous link, that can not be traced back to the source.

Officer Joe on the other hand doesn't want his colleagues to know about his collaboration with Mike, to get the truth about what is going on. So he followed the address to the location that evening.

The location was in a local pub, somewhere away from the main civilization. Officer Joe walked into the pub, everyone was drinking and having fun. Officer Joe was not in uniform, he hid his badge and gun, he sat down and looked around but no sign of me Mike.

Officer Joe waited for about ten minutes but no sign of Mike.

A waitress walked right passed him, Officer Joe decided to order a drink. He turned and said, “Can I have a glass of Johnny Walker with two ice cubes, please,?”

“Very well Sir coming right up,” the waitress said with a smile on her face.

“But what about your friend?” the waitress asked.

“Who?” Officer Joe asked.

“The one in front of you,” the waitress replied.

Officer Joe turned and looked in front of him and he saw m
