Chapter One Hundred and Sixty Three

He was lying to her, Fiona thought. His house was in the opposite direction and a little far from here, more like a two hour journey to his home.

And Ahn lived on a secluded island that belonged to only him, when did he get a house so close to the school?

Ah.. no, he scratched the back of his head. I just came out for a walk down the street, he said with a grin making her nod.

When his phone rang and he ignored it Fiona frowned. You are not going to get that? She asked.

No, you are more important than that, he teases.

“Fiona!” Maxwell called her name behind them. He had rushed out in hopes of catching her but the sight before him irked him and he almost pounced on Ahn for touching her but explaining things to her was more important.

Fiona turned to look at him with a blank face.

Please let’s talk, he said but Fiona was not ready to listen to anything. The time for conversation was over Max.

You knew and you kept something as tangible as that from me, I don’t think I have it in me to let that go.

I know, he placates her. They were standing on the drive away leading to the outhouse. The scene would have been crowded if not for the fact that the outhouse was in a secluded environment.

I didn’t want the information to break you, I know what he means to you he said to her.

Was giving out a shed of my company to him a part of protecting me too? She asked him.

What shed, he said then suddenly he remembered something. Who sent you that agreement?

Does it matter? She seethed in restrained annoyance. You agreed to give him a part of what I worked hard for just like that without remorse just to save your skin, her voice sounded calm yet cold this time.

Now, I tell you Maxwell Harold do not come before my eyes else I will have you arrested, she turned to leave but he held her back and kept her in place.

She was free to go but her association with Ahn made him lose his rationality. You are quick to leave me to go in the arms of another man, he growled slowly.

I have been protecting you, and now I am to blame for it.

You are always quick to blame me for unnecessary things without listening to what I have to say.

Fine, Fiona folded her arms. Explain to me why you signed this treaty without my permission?.

I… he stuttered a bit. You don’t have anything to say to it? She spoke angrily. And here I thought for once you are looking from my point of view.

I thought you finally saw the value of what I do but in the end, it is something to do with you getting a firm hold of your company.

Pushing him away she turned to leave only to see Turner running out. Is your car packed nearby she asked Ahn hurriedly...

Ah.. Yes, he muttered. Then let’s go. Fiona held her heels so she could run faster and ran from there with Ahn.

She was not in the mood to talk to either of them.

After the program today she had gone to meet Maxwell so they could go home. To make it easier she had been staying with him because his house was closer compared to hers and it was also easy to commute to and from

When she received the video. Knowing it was one of Xavier’s plots she went to look for him only for her to see he and Turner drove out in a hurry.

She had wondered where they were going. They were not looking good from their expression before someone told her they had gone to the out-house and she had trailed them to find out what happened.

She was afraid Maxwell would attack Turner out of jealousy only to hear them speaking about her.

And Turner was the mask man, who they were trying to meet. She understood he was trying to seek justice for his brother but using her this way was something she hadn’t expected.

She shook her head lightly and turned to Ahn who sat beside her. Stop here, I will order a cab to take me home from here, she said to him.

No way, Ahn retorted. I won’t leave you alone in this state, he told her. Perhaps we have a meeting to finish.

That was true, Fiona thought. Then let’s go to the gym, she said to him. Ahn gauged her mood. He didn’t know how to cheer her up so he could only deviate her thoughts to working.

Though he had no idea what went on between them he knew it was bad for Fiona to be this sad about it.

Another message prompt entered his phone but he ignored it not wanting to disrupt her thoughts.

But the call was persistent so Ahn had no choice but to keep it.

What? He said to the caller.

I don’t have time for this, he said coldly.

What do you mean, you couldn’t find her?

Find her, he said with so much annoyance that made Fiona cower in her seat.

Okay, give her the phone, he said suddenly.

Do not test me, he leered. You don’t have the right to bargain with me. You create any more trouble, you will be composted, he said then hung up the phone.

Sorry about that, he spoke calmly. Are you scared of me? " he furrowed when he saw her rigid body.

Please don’t be, he whispered frantically. Everyone else can be but not you.

Fiona didn’t know what to make of his request but she just nodded.

Curious about what was going on, she asked

Who was that?

Trisha Black, he answered truthfully, believing it was high time he told her the truth about who he was.
