Chapter One Hundred and Sixty Four

Cassie and Thompson looked for Fiona after the competition to no avail. They were supposed to go out for a celebration later but none of them has been found.

Where could they have gone without prior notice, Cassie wondered loudly.

I think Fiona followed them. Turner and Maxwell weren’t on good terms when the program was on.

What do you mean by that? Cassie asked.

I saw the way they stiffly spoke to each other after Max came up earlier. They were talking angry words at each other making it look like they were just having a deep conversation but I could tell they were not friendly.

Why would they do that to each other? Cassie thought.

Let us just go to the place to check if they are there already, she suggested but before they could move they saw Turner coming with an ashen face.

You took a blow, Thompson said immediately he got near them but Turner was in no mood to humor the talk so he turned to Cassie directly.

Have you seen your sister?

No, we were about to go look for you guys. She is not with you.

No, she left, he said with a frown. She drove off with Ahn.

Ah, that… Cassie exclaimed.

And she hadn’t gone home? She asked him. No, I checked she isn’t. The gym? No, she is not there either, Turner answered.

I am worried about her, Turner said suddenly.

Why? She is with Ahn. I don't think he would do anything to her.

Ahn is not what he seems to be, Turner said to her irritatingly. I don’t know why I didn’t see it before.

The bastard, dragging his hand through his hair.

What do you mean by that? Cassie asked, always getting scared.

What happened to my sister? She should be fine, Turner said again. I don’t think his target was her.

What do you mean Ahn isn’t who he says he is?

I don’t know either but the release of Trisha has something to do with him, he said.

****

You were the one that released her? Fiona fidgeted.

What do you mean by releasing her? I didn’t have her released. I just got her out of the way for a client today.

A client? Fiona asked, confused.

My other job, he said with a smile. I help clear unwanted people away, he said to her with a smile.

I don’t kill innocents, he said when she froze in her seat.

Why are you telling me this suddenly? Fiona asked.

I figured Trisha is related to you in some way. My client wanted her out of the way. If her job was complete, I would have rejected it seeing that she was just a spoiled brat who has lost her mind but after I did an investigation I realized she was the one that played today against Roxane.

I don’t like being fooled and my client had me fooled secondly. I overheard your conversations in that temporary office, so I knew she was related to you in some way.

Here, he passed her his phone. Fiona read the last messages.

It says you have successfully taken her out.

Yes, I wanted to know why she was used against you. That was why I started following Maxwell and Turner around.

What did you find out? Fion asked.

That you should cut Maxwell some slack. Xavier threatened him with the kids so he had to give that up.

He didn’t want you agitated so he kept quiet.

Ama is the most notorious child trafficker in our world. The best thing about staying invincible is that you can do your thing without people’s knowledge.

Fiona was stunned at his words. You are supporting Maxwell now? She asked him.

Yes, he is a good man, but he has his faults and was too stupid to allow things to escalate that way. The problem with privileged men is that they think too much instead of doing things.

Fiona still hasn’t got what he wants from her.

You could have kept quiet like you have been doing all these while, why are you telling me now? She asked.

As expected, she is smart. Someone booked you with me.

His words made her scared.

What are you going to do with me, she said.

Relax, he said I would never harm. But I need you to stay away till all these die down.

What about the competition? She asked.

The finale is around the corner, I don’t want to miss it. You won’t miss it.

But I need to stage an attack on you, please trust me he said to her.

Okay, she nodded. Thank you, she whispered.

It’s nothing. About this, he said please don’t let anyone know not even your sister, he said.

I won’t say a word.

Another message popped up on his phone and he read it with a smile on his lips. As expected of the faceless son, he muttered.

What? Fiona asked.

Turner caught a whiff of who I am. He is currently looking for me with your sister.

Huh! I don’t want to see him, she said plainly. Let me talk to my sister, she said.

Alright, don’t worry he can’t trace you. He said when she looked up at him.

They have been driving for some time now and Fiona could only guess they are going to his Island house.

I hope you don’t mind where I am taking you, he said.

Not at all she said with a small smile and dialed Cassie’s number.

I am fine, she said when Cassie picked up her call.

You had me worried, she heard her say. I heard you are with Ahn from Turner and he is worried he’d do something to you.

I am fine, she said assuredly.

Good, Cassie said to her, should I give the phone to Turner, so he can be rest assured.

No need for that, she said, quickly cutting her off.

We will see tomorrow. I just need to go through a briefing with Ahn. I will video call you from where I am, she said assuredly knowing how her sister can be paranoid over nothing.
