CHAPTER 28

November Two weeks!

Two weeks is how long it's been since I last heard from or about Kalmon.

I know he's cousin is my friend and all but, Casper just has a way of making me forget him even if it's for a while, and the fact that he doesn't talk about him when we're together really helps too.

You'd think he'd blab all day about work and he's cousin but, the man knows when to shut up and that's one of the things I love about him.

Ever since that day, everything and everyone just seemed bland to me, although I didn't let this affect my studies because, if I did, then I'd be totally done for, totally screwed.

The girls seem to enjoy my free time because, they've practically turned me into their driver, not that I'm complaining, I mean I get to 'forget' to pick up any of them that annoys me.

I'm currently driving to Bon Appetit, Sally got her boss to give her break time before her usual break time and she invited me for lunch.

She's been so happy and I'm happy for her, ever since she officially started dating Casper, she's been the best version of her and that's one of the things I want for my friends.

*flash back*

"Are you sure she'd like this?" Casper asked me, checking out the table to make sure everything was set for his "big night" with sally.

At first when he told me, I thought he wanted to propose to her because he kept calling it "my big night with sally"

Never had I ever seen Casper as nervous as he was but, I could totally understand, love turns people into a total wuss.

Some of us haven't had such luck like that.

"I'm sure she'd absolutely love it seeing as you have put so much effort into it. Trust me, you'll be fine" I told him patting his shoulder.

"Thanks Nov, you're the best person ever, sometimes, I don't know how some people can just..." He paused "Thank you" he said, totally dismissing whatever it was he wanted to say. I didn't push him though, I let him go with his unfinished sentence hanging in the air.

"You're welcome, ad much as I'll like to stay here and chat, I have a class right now" I tell him, looking at my wristwatch.

"You'll be here later right?" He asked me, I gave him a smile and nodded my head.

All these dinners and love passing around my friends is really getting to me. Don't get me wrong, I love them but, couldn't their love interests wait until I have finally gotten over my issue with Kalmon before they come?

I guess not.

I'm happy for them, nonetheless.

At 8, I went over to the special venue that Casper picked for this occasion and hid behind a table with the menu booklet covering my face like I was instructed by Casper to do.

"I want you to witness everything" he told me.

Sally comes in, wearing a red dinner gown that had a side slit which ran from her knees down to the end of the dress, and as usual, Casper did not disappoint, he was equally dressed in a black suit that fit him so much one would think it was tailored on him.

As they sat, he started by talking about the weather. Typical Casper.

Before going over to tell her how gorgeous she looked and how a lot of dirty things crossed his mind as he saw her. Again, I say, typical Casper.

They went on and on, talking about random things, they even talked about me and how I've changed in the span of one week.

I can hear you people!

"I'm probably rushing things, but I don't want to take things slow with you anymore. I talked to Nov and she gave me her blessings, I want you! I want all of you, I don't only want the secret talks at night that I'm very sure you don't tell your friends about, I want to be able to show you off, to tell people 'hey, this is Sally, the love of my fucking life' I want all of you! I want this to be official, I want us to be official" He said.

Aww, my Casper is such a romantic too.

"I'm tired of hiding too, I want this to be official, I want us to be official" he told him, and Casper got up from his sit, went over to her and kissed her.

Thank God the part of the restaurant he chose was VIP and hardly had people there plus it was only lit whit candles, hence the reason I wasn't seen.

*flash back ends*

I never told her I was there; I didn't want her feeling bad, so I shut up about it.

"Hey girl" she hailed when I got to the table she reserved for us.

"Hey" I said, smiling as we hugged each other.

"How has lectures been?" She asked "not b—"

"November?" I heard a familiar voice call.

Turning around, I smiled wildly.

"Esther!" I said and she came over and gave me a hug.

"It's been long" she says smiling.

"Not very long though" I told her, and she nodded, still smiling.

"I believe you've met Sally?" I asked knowing very well they haven't met.

"Right, you haven't. This is Sally my best friend and this is Esther, she works in Kalmon's Company too" I introduced and let the girls shake hands.

"Then I believe she's the same on that Casper doesn't shut up about, right?" Esther asked and I nodded while we laughed.

"How's work? How's the dragon?" I asked. Not like I needed the answer to the last question. I don't even know why I asked.

But then, it's the first question she answers.

"Well, the dragon just got a lot worst, how'd you think working with him would be? You were the only one that could handle him and now you're gone, we're back to square one! The ones I pity are his new secretaries. He fires them like he changes his clothes" she let out.

"Woah, it must really be a war zone then" I joked but she didn't laugh, none of them did.

"There has to be something I can do to bring you back right?" She asked, he eyes holding so much hope in them.

I'm afraid there's nothing you can do sis, even if I wanted to come back, after what happened two weeks ago, I don't think I can ever go back there.

Of course, I don't tell her this, I just smile and shake my head
