CHAPTER 26

November So, here I was seated in the car with Nifise and Mandy waiting for Sally to come out of Bon Appetit so that we could go home.

When she eventually came out, we hit the road and Nifise told them about Jacob and dinner plans.

As expected, the girls gushed about it and when we asked for a picture, Nifise declined. Stupid child.

"Calm your tits, women, he'll be home for dinner" she told us, and I told them about my day because I could see Sally giving me a "I'm running out of patience" look through the rear-view mirror.

"What the fuck" Mandy yelled You're right sis, what the fuck is right.

"I feel you could've stayed and asked him why he called you instead of leaving like that" Sally said.

"He looked utterly shocked when he saw me, like I wasn't supposed to be there, like he didn't want me there" I said almost whispering the last part.

It hurt to admit it out loud.

"Aww, my baby, you'll be fine" Mandy said.

"Will I? Maybe he feels I'm clingy too" I said when we arrived our driveway.

"Don't even say that" Sally warned the same time Nifise said "Don't ever think that" while Mandy said, "don't go there".

"I mean, I did dump my food for him, and he didn't even acknowledge me, I'm sure he threw the food away, I'm sure he felt like I was disturbing him, I'm sure..." I couldn't finish my words because, they were interrupted by the salty drops I felt in my mouth.

I'm so pathetic! Crying over a man for the second time in my life, only that now, it's pointless because I'm not even dating the guy.

"We have a dinner to prepare for" I told them, cleaning the tears from my eyes.

They were giving me that sympathetic look and I didn't want that.

"Yeah, we should go prepare for it" Sally said and we entered into the house.

"Hey, are you busy tonight?" I asked Casper through the phone "Nope, what's up?" He asked "Come for dinner at my place, Nifise is bringing her dude to meet the family so I thought, the more the merrier" I explained "Count me in! Is that what you came to ask the dragon today?" He asked, and the happy mood that took a lot of embarrassing videos make, slowly died.

"No, I don't want to talk about that, be here by 8" I told him and hung up.

I just want a night without having anyone remind me of him, is that too much to ask?

The girls and I prepared jollof rice and chicken, Nifise's favorite, everything was set, including us.

Everyone dressed up a bit, especially Nifise and Sally because, their love interests would be coming tonight.

Lucky them.

Mandy wore a ripped jeans and an Ankara off the shoulder top, while I wore a black dress that was above the knees, it had straps for hands, I left my face bare, and I packed my hair in a bun.

Sally wore a long actual dinner gown, it was black and off the shoulder, it had a slit running from the thighs down, then the upper part of the dress had diamond studs on it.

Nifise wore a short red long sleeved gown that she designed. It looked so elegant and fit her well.

7:58pm was when Jacob arrived. He looked too happy to be here. He was good looking too but not as good looking as Casper or Kalmon. Plus, he doesn't keep beards. But above all, he was looking at Nifise like she was the only thing he could see and that made me smile.

"Girls, this is Jacob, Jacob this is Salome, Amanda and November" Nifise introduced, pointing at us, respectively.

"November?" He said, looking confused.

"That's your actual name?" He asked and I nodded because, if I had opened my mouth, something rude will come out of it. I was tired of people asking me that.

"That's a nice name, I've never seen a person named November before, I'm sorry" he said and I smiled at him, nodding in understanding "Please sit" Mandy told him, pointing at a couch.

Some minutes later, Casper arrived in all his glory, looking like he just walked out of a fashion show, I'm sure Sally was happy she dressed up too.

Stupid people.

It was dinner time, and Casper was telling us a story about him when he was small.

"And when I turned to see if he was behind me, it was the worst mistake I made, he was right in front of me" he said, and we laughed. Hard.

"So, Jacob, right?" Casper asked Jacob and he nodded.

"What are your intention towards my girl?" Casper asked and we laughed again.

"I'm serious right now, all these beautiful ladies are mine and you'll need my blessings to carry on whatever it is you have in mind with Nifise" Casper said in a very serious professional voice, if I didn't know him, I'd think it was true.

"Well, I want to date her, she's the best person I've met, very real and down to earth" he said dreamily, looking at Nifise that was behaving like an earthworm that salt was put upon.

30 minutes into the dinner and discussion, the doorbell rang.

"Are y'all expecting someone else? We are far gone in this dinner" Casper said and I laughed.

"I'll get it" I told them, excusing myself from the table.

"Are you Miss Tete?" The strange man in a delivery uniform.

"Yes, that's me" I told him.

"This is yours" he said handing me a bouquet of purple roses.

"Please sign here" he told me handing me the booklet, I signed and gave it back to him.

"Thank you" I told him, and he tipped his cap and left.

"Who was that?" Sally asked.

"Flowers" I said, showing them the bouquet.

"Who's it from?" Sally asked and I checked the bouquet for a note, I found one.

I should've done this earlier, but I didn't have the balls to. I had the best sex with you. I look forward to more nights like that.

"So?" Nifise asked, all heads turned to my direction.

"Apparently, I now have a secret admirer and y'all will not believe who it is" I told the girls, passing the card to them.

"Woah" Sally said.

"Do you have any idea who he is?" Casper asked me.

"I don't, how did he know I live here?" I asked no one in particular.

I'm being stalked by the guy I had sex with on my birthday. Can my life get any worse?
