CHAPTER 25

November It's been a week since I stopped working at the company.

My life feels boring and less serious, lectures are super boring and annoying, I haven't been able to meet up with Casper even though I told him we would and most importantly, I miss Kalmon.

Even though I regret leaving, I know I made the right choice, but I can't help feeling like a spoiled child.

He had everything laid out for me and I just dismissed him, I let my mom talk me into this. Yes, I'm blaming my mother, I can't blame myself, I'd feel like strangling me, I blame my friends too for not talking me into staying at the company.

God! I'm hopeless.

I was currently having lunch in the school's cafeteria when I felt my phone vibrate from my pocket, followed by my ringtone.

I took it out and almost spit my food out at the caller ID, Kalmon was calling me but, why?

"Hello?" I said into the phone "You know, grabbing my lunch is in your job description" he said somewhat irritatingly and hung up.

What! The! Fuck!

Has he forgotten that I don't work for him anymore?

But looking at the bright side, I kinda want to see him too so, me being the stupid needy hoe I am, I dumped MY lunch and went to Bon Appetit, good thing I drove today, so I had the car at my disposal.

While I was driving to Bon Appetit, I had only one thought in my head.

I bounced my lunch for MAN! MAN!

A very sexy man that will be the death of me!

Like Nifise always said "na man go kill you one day" (a man will kill you one day).

"Dude!" Sally squealed when she saw me, gaining dirty looks form people around.

"Sorry" she said to them.

"I need a to-go plate of spaghetti" I told her.

"What's going on, I thought you packed lunch?" She asked me.

"I did pack lunch and I'll tell you later just get me the food as quickly as possible!" I said getting irritated.

"Calm your tits, woman!" Sally said, giving me her signature “I know you're hiding something, but I trust you” look.

I gave her a quick smile and she ordered the food.

In two minutes, I was out of the restaurant and in the car.

I drove like a fucking maniac on the set of fast and furious, miraculously, I got to the very familiar silver building in 10 minutes and dare I add, in one piece.

"Nov?" Esther called me, looking confused as I smiled at her, waving at her with my free hand.

I rushed to the elevator, all the while getting weird looks from all the workers there that I had become familiar with over the past few months.

When I got into the elevator, I released the breath I didn't know I was holding.

I adjusted my hair and looked down at my clothes, I looked okay.

I was wearing my favorite black skirt and an off the shoulder lemon green top and a black flats.

When I got to the intimidating mahogany door, I knocked once, and I got the reply to come in.

He was facing the massive view his glass wall gave; hence, his back was to me.

"Food afternoon sir, your lunch" I said in a very professional voice.

I saw his shoulders tense at the sound of my voice, but he didn't turn yet.

"Sir?" I called out and this time, he turned.

From the look on his face, I know he was surprised.

"What are you doing here?" He asked.

Ouch! So much for dumping my food for man!

"Good day to you too, you called me... Sir" I said, looking down at my feet.

"I'll just go now, I brought your favorite" I told him and turned to go, I was expecting him to say something, anything that will make me stop but he didn't so, I walked out of his office not even looking back and I slammed the door behind me.

Just as I was about to enter into the elevator, someone grabbed my arm, I knew the person without turning.

"Casper"

"You wanted to go without seeing me? Well, that's very charming, don't you think?" He joked and I smiled at him.

I missed this, being able to gossip during office hours.

"What's wrong baby girl?" He asked me, noticing that I wasn't in the mood.

"Nothing! I have a class in thirty minutes" I lied.

Casper held my chin up, looking into my eyes, I know he could tell that I was lying but didn't want to push it.

I gave him a hug and got into the elevator.

Now, I feel like shit! I dumped my lunch for someone who wasn't even glad to see me.

I should've known. I should've called him back and told him I no longer work for him, I should've eaten my much because now, I'm hungry.

I can't still believe I bounced my food for him and then he bounced me in return.

I got into the car and drove straight to Shanel's fashion house to pick up Nifise, she's the one who has lectures in thirty minutes anyway.

"What's got your panties in a twist sis?" She asked me, I couldn't keep it anymore, so I told her everything that happened earlier.

Just when I was ready to receive consoling words from her, this bitch started laughing.

I looked at her in shock, her laughter has always been the contagious kind so, I started laughing with her.

"So, I've not told any for the girls yet but, there's this dude at the fashion house, he's super cute and tall and beautiful" she explained.

Careful the tigress, beautiful is a word that can only be used to describe Kalmon!

Wait, what?

"Oh my God! What's his name?" I asked, finally something to keep my mind off that stupid hot and beautiful dragon.

"His name's Jacob" she said and smiled, damn! She likes him alright.

"We've, been talking a bit and I don't know... He told he liked how down to earth I was and that I was very beautiful, and my sense of fashion is very attractive, dude! I really like him so, I invited him over for dinner tonight at our place, I'll tell the girls on our way home" she said.

She sounded so excited, it had me feeling excited, finally one of us have something good going on not something confusing and complicated.
