Chapter 69 Leave
Lydia woke up early the next morning, and as soon as she moved, Lambert woke up too.
Lydia realized that she had slept with her head resting on Lambert’s arm, blushing slightly at the realization. She moved back a bit and teasingly pinched his arm, “Weren’t you tired last night?”
Lambert joked, “We didn’t even get to the end, so where’s the tiredness? Are you doubting my abilities?”
Lydia understood his implication and blushed even more, glaring at him before getting up to go to the bathroom.
After Lydia finished freshening up, she immediately called Prima to inquire about yesterday’s situation.
Just as Lambert had said, the reporters had waited at the TV station for a while but left when Lydia didn’t show up.
They hadn’t given Prima a hard time, but the plagiarism incident had caused quite a stir. If not handled properly, the entire studio might not be able to survive in the future!
And the reason for the leaked designs was still unclear!
Feeling frustrated, Lydia rubbed her temples.
Everything felt like a mountain pressing down on her, making it hard to breathe.
But work was work, and life had to go on.
It had been a day and a night since she had gone home. Lydia immediately asked Lambert to accompany her back to pick up Wythe.
An hour later, the family of three finally returned to Lydia’s rented apartment, with breakfast they had just bought still in the car.
Since it was Saturday and Wythe didn’t have school, they had planned to go on a picnic, but with the current situation at the company, Lydia had no mood for it.
Fortunately, Wythe was very understanding and told Lydia to focus on her work. He then went with Lambert to visit the aquarium.
For the past few days, Lydia had been incredibly busy, coming home later and later each day.
Moreover, the plagiarism incident had a more significant impact than she had imagined.
Companies that had previously shown interest in collaborating now turned their backs on them, and even those they had already partnered with were canceling orders.
Lydia was overwhelmed, and at this critical juncture, she received a court summons!

The company that plagiarized their designs had actually counter–sued, directly taking her to court!
Lydia held the court summons in her hand, her face turning red with anger. She stood up abruptly, slamming the cup of water on the table to the ground.
“Shameless! These people are simply shameless!”
Prima stood there trembling, also feeling very angry, but she tried to comfort Lydia. “Madam, don’t be angry. There’s still plenty of time before the trial. As long as we can find evidence in time, we might not
lose the lawsuit!”
“I know! This time it’s my fault, causing trouble for everyone. Let the designers take a few days off, but make sure to pay their salaries!”
Prima nodded repeatedly.
“By the way, have you found out why the design sketches were leaked?”
“After investigation, the most likely culprit is Linda. She resigned three days ago, so we don’t have any
more evidence for now.”
Lydia frowned. “I see. You may leave now.”
After Prima left, Lydia slumped into her chair, feeling defeated. Finding evidence wasn’t easy.
It was probable that Linda had conspired with the “Twilight” brand before leaving.
Moreover, since the other company dared to counter–sue, they must be confident that Lydia wouldn’t find any evidence.
At the moment, they were stuck in a deadlock!
Knock, knock, knock!
The sound of knocking interrupted her thoughts. Lydia quickly composed herself and called out, “Come
in!”
The visitor was Jeffrey, a promising young designer in the company who had just been poached from another studio after Lydia returned to the country.
Lydia was surprised to see him.
“Jeffrey, what’s the matter?”
Jeffrey respectfully placed a resignation letter on Lydia’s desk. “Madam, I apologize for this untimely request, but I aspire to become a top international designer, so I don’t want to waste any more time here.”
Lydia’s complexion turned ugly at his blunt words. “This incident was just an accident, and the company will handle it as soon as possible. It will definitely not affect your future!”

“Really? Amélie, although you are indeed an internationally renowned designer, you probably don’t understand how important reputation is in the domestic design environment. Regardless of the outcome of this incident, the studio’s reputation has already been tarnished. So, how far can we, the designers under the studio, go?”
Lydia looked at the young man in front of her, barely in his twenties.
The words she had prepared to persuade him to stay were held back.
A designer who couldn’t stand with her through difficulties would never treat the studio as their home.
Such a person would eventually leave sooner or later.
Lydia sighed inwardly. “Fine! I agree to your resignation! By the way, inform the design department that anyone who wants to leave can come to me! But I also want to tell you all that one day, you will regret
this decision!”
Jeffrey didn’t say anything more, but his disdainful eyes seemed to imply that they would only regret
staying!
Lydia quickly signed her agreement on the resignation letter and waved her hand to signal Jeffrey to
leave.
Before he left, she even heard Jeffrey mutter under his breath, “Huh! An internationally renowned designer? I wonder how many genuine designs are in her head!”
Lydia’s face turned as cold as water, biting her lip to suppress her anger.
Deep down, she was already determined that she couldn’t lose this lawsuit!
Otherwise, all her efforts would become a joke!
