Chapter294
But she immediately “hid quickly,” like she didn’t want the person in front of the camera to see her.
She gave a sad little laugh and said, “The partner won’t leave, there’s no sky–high divorce case, to be honest, Max and I never even slept together. If the stock price goes up and down because of this gossip, then it’s really…”
While I was talking, suddenly-
“Bang bang bang!”
The door outside was knocked. Roxanne looked to the side, confused.
Then, the livestream was cut off.
Edgar looked at Roxanne, out of breath.
“Ms. Gregg, you should’ve talked to us first before you did anything!” Edgar was about to explode.
Roxanne apologized, “Sorry, I just wanted to help.”
Then she pointed at the curve and said, “See? It did help a bit, right? The stock price already started to go back up.”
Edgar almost rolled his eyes. This was obviously because their plan had worked.
But he didn’t dare say anything reckless, so he just had Roxanne go to the Humphrey Group with him first.
Yes, the stock price of the Humphrey Group started to go up.

This was expected, since every listed company had people to handle these things.
But after all that, Roxanne still let everyone get all the gossip.
Although the clueless onlookers thought Roxanne was pretty pitiful, but….
“Ha ha ha!” Jeremiah laughed and said to Stephanie, “Did you know, Maxwell basically became a joke in the circle, it cracked me up, since when did his tricks get so lame! Oh my god, I laughed so hard my stomach hurt.”
Stephanie also thought it was amazing.
The sky–high divorce case was cleared up yesterday, so there wouldn’t be this trouble.
Actually, the reason the stock price dropped in panic was because there were rumors that a major partner was going to tear up the contract and all the other partners were leaving too.
But actually, Vincent just went to scare Maxwell a bit yesterday.
Since the contract was already signed, it couldn’t be easily torn up, at most they just wouldn’t renew it later.
So that’s why Stephanie told Vincent not to use her as an excuse.
The Humphrey Group had real solid technology. Back then, we were able to talk about working together only after breaking through the tech blockade.
So, even if Maxwell made it to the top of the jerk list, that was just gossip. It affected the stock price, but not that much.
As long as we kept maintaining it, the stock price would go back up.

But this time it was different.
Roxanne ran out and said a bunch of stuff, it was really embarrassing.
After breaking up with Stephanie, did Maxwell really get this lame?
This was what everyone in the industry felt.
Also, what a lot of people didn’t notice was, Roxanne’s move left endless trouble.
At that time, the Humphrey Group.
Maxwell rubbed his forehead and looked at Roxanne in front of him.
“What were you thinking?” Maxwell’s voice was cold.
Roxanne looked at Maxwell with a weird expression: What was she thinking?
Wasn’t it her livestream that showed everyone the “truth,” and now the stock price was already going back up?
No matter what, she should have been the hero of the Humphrey Group.
All these years, Stephanie never had this much personal influence. Only she, Roxanne, could do it.
But you couldn’t say that, so she looked all “wronged” and said, “Max, I saw the Humphrey Group lose hundreds of billions in market value right after the market opened this morning, so I just wanted to save it as soon as possible.”
