But Maxwell still just looked at her coldly.
Edgar on one side couldn’t take it anymore.
“Ms. Gregg, before you did anything, you needed to talk to us first, especially if it was about the company.”
A flash of coldness passed through Roxanne’s eyes. She had hated this Edgar for a long time. When she became Mrs. Humphrey, she would definitely make him pay!
But now she just had to put up with it for the time being.
“I… I saw the trending topic and just started streaming…”
Roxanne bit her lip and looked really upset: “And isn’t it better now anyway…”
Edgar couldn’t help rolling his eyes.
!
“That was because the whole company was busy all night last night, Mr. Humphrey had meetings all night too, and we had our own plan.”
Roxanne bit her lip and looked down.
No one saw it, but her eyes were full of resentment.
Maxwell’s eyes stayed on Roxanne the whole time.
He didn’t think it through.
He was already used to the tacit understanding with Stephanie.

The two of them never had disagreements at work because of these
issues.
Many times, it often just took a look or a smile to understand what the other person meant.
Something like what happened today just wouldn’t have happened.
Because she understood that for a listed company, the most important thing was the product’s real strength.
Although the Humphrey Group also did quite a bit of marketing and hired a lot of spokespeople, in the end, their real foundation was definitely their own technology.
Maxwell looked at the unwilling look in Roxanne’s eyes, and he felt a headache.
Forget it.
Roxanne didn’t get this.
It was just…
“Did you buy any shares of the Humphrey Group under your own name?” Maxwell asked coldly.
“Ah?” Roxanne didn’t get it.
Edgar explained on the side, “Ms. Gregg, this is important, your actions themselves looked like market manipulation, and if you also bought in at a low price…”
Edgar didn’t say it straight out, but the meaning was pretty clear.
He said, “It’s serious.”

If convicted, for serious cases, it was less than five years in prison or detention, and a fine could also be given or just a fine. For especially serious cases, it was more than five years but less than ten years in prison, plus a fine.
Roxanne glanced at Edgar beside her, then said, “No, I didn’t buy it.”
Maxwell didn’t listen to what she said. He just looked at Edgar and said coldly, “You, go help her find out.”
“Yes.” Edgar nodded right away.
“Max, I told you I didn’t, don’t you believe me?” Roxanne said anxiously.
But Maxwell just looked at her calmly.
Those eyes were scary calm, totally different from any time she’d known him before.
Roxanne got even angrier. She said, “Actually, you guys didn’t have to do this. I just said on the livestream that this was something I did on my own. You don’t know the whole story.”
Edgar sighed, “Ms. Gregg, just because you said Mr. Humphrey didn’t know, does that really mean Mr. Humphrey didn’t know? You kept talking about your relationship with Mr. Humphrey, and whether you cleared things up or not, it didn’t make any difference.”
“You!” Roxanne glared coldly at Edgar.
But in the end, I still didn’t say anything.
She finally said angrily, “Fine, I’ll cooperate with you, okay!”
Then he walked out angrily.

Edgar immediately followed behind.
Maxwell quietly watched her leave. When she was about to leave the CEO’s Office, he said, “Roxanne, from now on, you don’t need to get involved in the Humphrey Group’s business.”
