Chapter235
Seeing how proud the other person looked, Stephanie smiled a little.
“Thanks for the reminder.” Stephanie smiled calmly, “but I didn’t need it.”
After she finished speaking, she didn’t care what Emelia thought and just walked straight toward the staff passage.
Life couldn’t always go smoothly, and she couldn’t make everyone like her.
What she had to do was try her best and have a clear conscience.
That was enough.
With the “click–clack” of high heels, Stephanie, guided by the staff, walked onto the stage when the second contestant came down.
The stage was all dark. As she stood still, the host over there got the signal.
“Next, let’s invite contestant Serena to…”
The host was only halfway through talking when someone in the audience already screamed and interrupted.
“Boycott Serena!”
“Serena left!”
“Serena, get lost!”

The shouting got louder and louder, and some people even started throwing things to the front.
Luckily, Jeremiah had already prepared, and right then he immediately sent the people he had ready to keep things under control.
The host wiped their sweat and continued with the instructions: “Let’s welcome contestant Serena to bring us the song ‘Sculpture“.”
Then just got off quickly.
Roxanne saw this from the judges‘ table and felt pleased.
“Serena, I wondered how you were gonna turn things around this time!” Roxanne thought.
At this moment, Stephanie stood still on the stage. As the stage lights gradually came on, a surreal stage appeared in front of everyone.
The masked woman standing in the center of the stage had half of her body in reality, and the other half seemed to be hidden in plaster.
It just showed up and gave people a strong visual shock.
Some people couldn’t help but whisper-“What’s this?”
But nobody knew what this was.
“Who cares what she was, boycott Serena!”
“Boycott tainted celebrity Serena!”
“Serena, go down!”
These voices were all together.
Only Stephanie’s costume designer stood aside, nervously watching the
masked woman on stage.

And as everyone started talking, there was a light tapping sound on the stage, like someone was carving something.
With the beat of the knocking, the half–plaster masked woman on stage started to sing quietly. Led by her voice, she told a story about a plaster work abandoned halfway by a sculptor, who got a kiss from the Muse and picked up a chisel to sculpt itself.
As the masked woman chanted, the plaster on her seemed to fall off piece by piece, and she started her self–remaking.
Her singing seemed to have some kind of magic, attracting everyone’s
attention.
Just now, some people who loudly said boycott all forgot what they did, and just stared wide–eyed at the masked woman on stage.
Roxanne quickly noticed the change at the scene, and she immediately texted Simon under the table.
Then, right away, someone went into the crowd and started to stir things up.
People who didn’t shout boycott right away were looked down on by those next to them.
“Why didn’t you boycott her? I think there’s really something wrong with your values. Serena faked donations, she had no morals, she was a tainted celebrity, and you still thought she was good? I think you’ve got issues too!”
“I didn’t! Don’t just accuse me like that!”
“Then stand with me and boycott, boycott Serena!”
“Okay!”

“Boycott Serena!”
“Boycott Serena!”
The noise came up again.
Roxanne looked on with satisfaction as the shouts of protest in the room got louder and louder.
And Stephanie saw all of this.
What she wanted was just this effect.
I already saw what Roxanne could do.
Roxanne was really clever, so Stephanie just went along with it.
Roxanne was going to crush her with rumors.
So, she was going to treat those rumors like a carving knife and remake herself in front of everyone!
The mic in her hand looked like a carving knife, and with all the loud protests, every time the masked woman on stage sang, it felt like she was using that knife to make a harsh cut.
And as the boos at the scene got louder, the plaster on her fell off faster.
It was like-
All the rumors at that moment turned into countless carving knives, cutting her over and over, shaping a brand new her.
“Boycott Serena!”
“Serena left!”

In the audience, Maxwell frowned a little.
Kept looking at the seat next to me.
Stephanie still didn’t come.
Until now, still hasn’t come.
That day, she clearly said she would come in person.
Why didn’t you come?
Was it because you knew Roxanne was also on this show?
Or was it something else?
Maxwell didn’t get it, so he looked back at the masked woman on stage.
At this moment, as the music went on, the plaster on the masked woman had already completely fallen off.
An invisible gust of wind blew the plaster on the stage away, showing the sculpted body underneath.
The music suddenly changed at that moment.
It changed from the previous carved sound to a strong rhythm.
It seemed like this piece of plaster, after finishing carving itself, started to experience its new life.
The strong rhythm, the singing that was both skillful and full of storytelling, and the whole surreal stage–all of it caught my eye.
There was also strong dancing.
They seemed to have different styles, but actually everything was well
organized.
She could even keep her voice steady during intense dancing and perfectly move the stage forward.
Stories, skills, art, and even the resistance inside and outside the venue, all of it was put into the show.
Strong!
So strong!
Even someone like Simon, who liked to stir things up, had to admit it when he saw this.
Luckily, Roxanne made a big deal out of Serena’s fake donation thing, or else with that kind of help, Jeremiah might really have taken off!
Thinking about it. Simon smiled at Jeremiah in front of him.
“I didn’t do anything.” Simon shrugged, looking like he needed a punch. “I just came over to see your faces after you lost.”
Simon gave a teasing smile and looked at Jeremiah: “That must have been really exciting!”
At this point, the plaster woman on the stage only had her face left untouched.
