Chapter 61
Rhiannon stared at her for a long time.
She had long known that the existence of the ring had its dangers and had guessed that those organizations were after it.
However, although she wanted to ruin it, she couldn’t as she knew it might save her any other time.
“So, Ruby and I decided to work extra hard and help Mom in making our company be at the top. Although we haven’t succeeded in that, we have at least reached the top three which is admirable,” Raven said causing Rhiannon to nod her head.
“Are the perfumes sold internationally?” Rhiannon asked.
“Yes. We entered the international market via competitions. There was a competition in which I had participated, I reached the international level but I was ranked fifth. However, I got exposure from that. Ruby had always participated in the underage perfumers' competition and she was always top five. This time, she will be entering the adult competition which will be competitive,” Raven said in worry as they didn’t know what to do.
“Don’t worry. Both of you will participate. I have some perfume recipes left behind by Mom. We can start by going through tomorrow, receive two of them then, you guys will use your perfumers to enter the competitions. You will use your own to reach nationally. After that, I will select a few recipes for you guys to use. We must get numbers no 1 and 2 respectively. We must shake the international perfume industry. We will use them to reach the top of the pyramid in the perfume industry. And at least top 10 internationally,” Rhiannon said in a serious tone shocking Raven and Ruby who had just walked out of the bathroom.
“Rhiannon, are you serious?” she asked excitedly as she couldn’t believe it.
Being able to see Sabrina’s recipes was like a dream coming true.
“Yes. Okay, Raven go and take a shower,” Rhiannon said as she looked at the sisters.
“Yeah, you are too smelly!” Ruby said as she covered her nose causing Rave to jump wanting to beat her but the latter ran away.
Rhiannon watched them with a smile on her face as she couldn’t believe that he had missed a good with her family just because of Kaylee and her obsession with Aoron.
“Okay. Both of you should stop playing. Ruby, go and wear your socks as you might catch a cold,” Rhiannon said after some minutes of them running around the room.
Upon hearing Rhiannon’s words, they stopped what they were doing and glanced at her.
With no other choice, they nodded their heads and ran to do as they had been told.
A few minutes later, Ruby walked back.
“Rhiannon, are we both of you talking about competitions?” Ruby asked curiously as her eyes shone causing Rhiannon to chuckle.
She now believed what Raven had said, Ruby loved making perfumes more than Raven.
“Why?” Rhiannon asked as she raised her eyebrows.
“You may not know but competitions are where we get to experience, exposure, and connections,” Ruby said and Rhiannon nodded her head.
“When we are in competitions, one learns something new from the other perfumers, your work and company get exposed and if you are selling good things, they be sure that you will earn profits and go to another level. Connections, most perfume companies come to look for perfumers to employ. You might even get an opportunity to meet the chairman of the largest company and the top company in the pyramid internationally,” Ruby explained with a smile.
Total different from Raven who was serious when talking about business. Nonetheless, Rhiannon didn’t find anything wrong with that as everyone was unique in their ways.
“What have you been doing in the company?” Rhiannon asked curiously.
“The competitions are near. I was preparing as I wanted to make a unique perfume, you know. A perfume that a mother would use and would be reminded of their children,” Ruby shared her thoughts.
“Why that and not a perfume used by children to remember their parents?” Rhiannon asked making Ruby shake her head.
“Children? Okay, I know that they do love their parents but do you think that they can use that? Most of them just want their parents to always remember them, as long as they are remembered, they are fine with it. The youngsters only care about their faces and fame. I am not targeting them as most perfumers always take them thinking that if they target them, they will sell well. The children will request their parents to buy them the perfumers,” Ruby said.
“But to me, if I am successful, it will definitely take everyone by surprise. Mothers would want to buy the perfumes as they love their children and want to always have something on them that reminds them of their kids. While the kids would run to buy them for their parents as they want their parents to remember them,” Ruby said shocking Rhiannon as she had not thought of like that.
She was surprised and even doubted the latter’s age.
“Well, you can use that perfume during the international competition and not domestic if you want it to reach a lot of people. For now, you should think of other perfumes to use on the domestic competitions,” Rhiannon said as she patted Ruby’s head.
“Yeah, I know. But it's just that I haven’t succeeded in that yet,” Ruby answered in a low mood causing Rhiannon to shake her head.
“Don’t worry. There is such a perfume in mother’s recipes but I will only tell you when you are number one in the domestic competitions,” Rhiannon said shocking Ruby as she couldn’t believe what she had just heard.
“What! Are you serious?”
“I never lie,” Rhiannon replied with a smile on her face as she looked at the dumbfounded Ruby.
“However, you need to remain silent about it We don’t want to alert the enemy,” Rhiannon said and Ruby nodded her head vigorously.
They talked about the company and Rhiannon understood it well. When Raven got out of the washroom, they went downstairs as the girls complained that they were hungry.
Rhiannon enjoyed the dinner as she was in a harmonious environment. She was so envious of the family but she also knew that she couldn’t do much about everything as she admitted that not everyone was as lucky as Ruby and Raven were.
However, after some time, she realized that her mother had a lot of people under her and they served her like they were serving their God. Although Rhiannon didn’t feel well about everything, she knew that she didn’t have a choice.
She just promised herself that she would make their dreams come true. She now understood the reason her mother had left a lot of summarised books with every kind of recipe.
If she wasn’t wrong and from Raven’s words, there was a company that was involved in food and beverages and design. She hoped that they were somewhere before taking control of them.
After meals, she requested to talk to her aunt Melda and she was led to the study room.
“Rhiannon, what do you want to tell me?” Melda asked with a smile on her face.
Rhiannon stared at her aunt and wondered how she had managed all these.
“Did my mother open other companies?” Rhiannon asked taking Melda by surprise.
“Yes. Your mother was a very kind-hearted person. She would sponsor children who didn’t have fees and had potential. She also had a skill, she could tell who was a successful person. Who could become successful after being nurtured by her? I was also nurtured by her although I was still in university. She was my master,” Melda said with a smile.
“She had a lot of apprentices. When she saw that one had gained enough skills, she would open a company and let you run it. Because of this, she opened a lot of companies. Although one may think that those guys will be the owners, your mother made them take a pledge. They are running the company for her bloodline. They and their families will always be under her family and her generations,” Melda said causing Rhiannon to frown.
She thought that it was more of a cult.
“We saw her as our mother, our savior as she had saved each one of us. We also knew why she was saying that as she had a lot of enemies. We always wanted to protect her safe thus when we failed, we vowed that we would do everything in our might to protect her child and future generations. When one gets married and gives birth, we teach other children about loyalties. We tell them we are servants of Celestine Sanders so that they can know their stand and everything they have doesn’t belong to them. Well, it does but it is because of the master's mercy we are living a comfortable life,” Melda said as her eyes shone.
“I have a question like you manage the perfume company, is there any other company that is in that industry?” Rhiannon asked as she didn’t want to hear about their vows as to her, it was very odd.
“Yes, there are. She had said that instead of opening one company and all of us to work there, there should be various companies so that when they are joined together, we may dominate. For now, my company is the leader in the perfume industry. We are number 3, numbers 5, 8, and 10 are your mother's company. We want to be the leading, all the companies to be top 5 if not 10 before we join them all together,” Melda said shocking Rhiannon.
Rhiannon just stared at her aunt while she was lost in thought. She wondered how she could manage all of those companies but when she thought of Octavius, she sighed as she felt that she had a man to help her out.
“Okay. If possible, can you arrange for me to meet with the people running the companies? Mom left some recipes behind and I think it would help you guys in moving forward,” Rhiannon said taking Melda by surprise.
Melda had thought that it would take Rhiannon some time to adjust to everything that’s why she had not told her anything during the day. But now looking at Rhiannon, she knew that she had misjudged her.
Rhiannon on the other hand didn’t see any problem with that as she felt that since her mother had already done all this for her and her future, she should continue with her mother’s legacy. She also understood that since they wanted to dominate the business world, it seemed that her mother’s enemies were so powerful thus she knew that if she didn’t take enough precautions, she might end up dead before realizing it.
“Okay. Do you want to only meet the perfumers or all of your mother’s apprentices?”
