Chapter 147 Raising Eyebrows and Exhaling
The store manager never imagined who she had offended. While she was still in a daze, the general manager had already walked up to her.
The general manager said coldly, "Pack your things right now. You're fired, and you'll be blacklisted from the entire retail industry forever."
"No... please don't... don't do this. I was wrong, I really know I was wrong. I looked down on people..."
"Ms. Davis gave you chances again and again, but you never valued any of them. Someone like you should have been kicked out long ago."
The store manager crawled on her hands and knees to Ava. "Ms. Davis, I was wrong, I really know I was wrong. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I apologize to you. Please, please give me a way out."
Being blacklisted from the entire retail industry forever - what did that mean?
It meant being put on a blacklist by every brand store in the whole retail industry.
She could never work in sales again for the rest of her life.
And since she was directly fired, her name would be posted publicly, making her a laughingstock among all her peers.
Ava looked at her coldly. "I gave you a chance, didn't I?"
"No, let's talk this over, let's talk this over. I'll apologize to you..."
Without Ava having to lift a finger, the general manager sensed her displeasure, and someone immediately stepped forward and pulled the store manager away.
Ava glanced at all these boxes. "Remember to have them delivered to my house."
The general manager nodded. "Yes."
Ava gave a cold look at the women standing to the side, not daring to breathe. They were looking at her in disbelief, unable to say a word.
"Isabella, let's go." Ava took Finn and Cleo's little hands and called to Isabella, who was amused by the women's expressions.
Isabella quickly caught up with Ava.
"Hahaha, Ava, their expressions are killing me. How can they be so funny?" Isabella laughed heartily.
"Today was really satisfying. But Joshua really spoils you - he bought all the jewelry in the entire mall for you to back you up. That's seriously generous."
Ava smiled helplessly. "So you were the one who told him?"
"Of course it was me. This was my chance to make up for my mistakes. How could I miss it?" Isabella laughed.
"But calling Joshua was Finn's idea."
Finn smiled. "I was giving Daddy a chance to show off."
"He certainly showed off... impressively."
So impressively that she didn't know where to put those fifty boxes of jewelry.
Finn pulled Cleo along, saying to her, "We have to give Daddy fifty points for this. Daddy was awesome."
As Ava's group came out of the mall, they saw black cars pulling up one after another in front of them.
A young man in a suit got out of the lead car. His handsome face wore large sunglasses, his lips curled in a rebellious cold smile, and he held a black cane in his hand.
The man's gaze fell on Ava through his black sunglasses.
Ava instantly felt like a demon had grabbed her by the throat, making it hard to breathe.
The man looked at her, his lips slowly curving into a smile.
Ava frowned.
The man had noticed her displeasure, but his gaze didn't leave her for a second.
Staring at her like that.
That look was similar to the one she had sensed at the hospital entrance.
She thought the man at the hospital entrance was the same man standing before her now.
Why did he keep looking at her? Ava didn't remember knowing him.
Just then, Mia and her group also came down from upstairs looking disheveled.
Mia's gaze immediately fell on the man. Why was he here?
Mia had endless fear of him, especially when he looked at her with that mocking, disgusted, dismissive gaze.
He had given her status, but then handed her over to his bodyguards to toy with.
Mia couldn't understand what this man was thinking or what he wanted to do.
She only knew this man had powerful influence and could help her kill Ava.
Thinking this, Mia quickly walked forward with a sweet smile and intimately wrapped her arm around the man's.
In a coquettish voice, she called out, "Darling, why are you here?"
Only then did the man's gaze leave Ava and fall on the woman holding his arm. A flash of disgust crossed his eyes, hidden behind his sunglasses.
He removed his sunglasses, put his arm around the woman's waist, and smiled. "My darling, I naturally came to pick you up. How was it? Did you have fun today?"
Seeing her chance to get revenge on Ava, Mia immediately frowned softly and leaned into the man's embrace. "No, I didn't."
"Who made my darling unhappy?" the man asked with a smile.
Mia pointed directly at Ava's group. Finn rolled his eyes. "You bad woman, you were the one who started trouble with us first."
Cleo also frowned angrily, her little face scrunched up. She was utterly disgusted with Mia and her friends - they always provoked them first, yet always played the victim afterward.
