Chapter 146 Everyone Was Stunned
Ava reached out and snatched the packaged necklace, slapping it on the counter with no trace of a smile on her face. "Go get your store manager."
The sales assistant's face immediately showed impatience. "Miss, you're going too far. If you keep this up, we'll have to call security."
"I said get your store manager out here. Don't you understand?"
"Miss, that's enough. I AM the store manager, and I'm asking you to leave now."
"Store manager? Perfect. So this is the service attitude of a famous domestic luxury brand store manager. What an eye-opener." Ava's eyes were full of coldness.
"Ava, if you really can't afford it, don't make things difficult for the manager." Thea stepped forward with a furrowed brow, looking like she was kindly trying to persuade her.
"Does this concern you, Ms. Ellis?" Ava asked coldly.
Thea's expression stiffened. Her face instantly filled with distress as she sighed helplessly. "I just don't want to see you embarrass yourself."
"So you've all decided I can't afford it, right?"
Thea smiled helplessly. "That's how it looks right now."
"Fine, I understand." Ava nodded. "I don't want that necklace anymore."
Hearing this, Mia immediately laughed. "At least you have some sense. Knowing you don't have money and giving up - otherwise it would be really awkward when you have no way out..."
"Things you've touched are dirty." Ava played with her slender fingers, coldly lifting her eyes to ask, "Anything else you want? Pick everything at once."
"What do you mean?" Mia looked at her, confused.
"Don't you understand human speech?" Ava looked at her indifferently. "I'm telling you to keep picking. You're so rich - aren't you going to pick more?"
Mia's face darkened. This broke person actually dared to provoke her. Pick? Of course she'd pick. She wanted Ava to watch her buy things one by one that Ava couldn't afford.
With the store manager fawning over her, Mia proudly bought a three-piece sapphire set worth 8.6 million dollars, a gemstone ring set for 5 million dollars, and a pair of gold bracelets for 1.9 million dollars.
A total of 15.39 million dollars.
Mia handed over her gold card without hesitation. "Ring it up."
The store manager looked at Mia almost like she was looking at God.
She bowed and scraped respectfully. "Right away."
Mia's card had a total of 20 million dollars - payment from Will for last night's "performance."
Using this money to slap Ava in the face felt absolutely amazing.
Then Thea also picked out 20 million dollars worth of jewelry. The Ellis family naturally had money to spare.
Lyra picked over a million dollars worth, all looking at Ava with triumphant eyes.
The three women picked out over 36 million dollars total.
The store manager was completely stunned.
The three looked at Ava triumphantly. Mia sneered, "Ava, did you see that? This is the difference between us. We casually spend tens of millions of dollars, while you can't even come up with a few hundred thousand."
"Seriously, this is hilarious." Lyra chimed in.
"Ava, it's okay. I just bought a lot - if you like something, pick a set. These don't mean much to me." Though Thea's face wore a constant smile, her eyes revealed nothing but contempt and disdain.
Ava sat quietly, unhurried and calm.
Hearing them speak to her, Ava finally swept her gaze toward them, asking lightly, "Are you all done picking?"
Thea smiled gently. "Yes, we're all done."
"Good." Ava nodded, glancing at the jewelry in the display cases. "Except for what they chose, give me one of everything else."
As her words fell, the surroundings went silent for a moment, then erupted in laughter.
Mia laughed uncontrollably. "Ava, what are you saying? You can't even afford one necklace, and you want to buy everything in the store? Are you crazy? Or is your brain not working right?"
"Mia, I think she's just jealous of us. Seeing us buy things she can't afford has driven her crazy."
Nearby onlookers watching the show all laughed mockingly. "This woman must be insane. Who does she think she is, wanting to buy everything in the store? She must be an idiot."
"Watch - she's just talking. When it's time to pay, she won't have the money."
Everyone laughed endlessly.
Thea also curved her lips slightly in a smile. "Ava, you really don't need to do this. You're just making yourself look awkward."
The store manager stood aside with even more disdain, not taking Ava's words seriously at all and showing no intention of packing anything. "Miss, please stop joking around here. Please leave immediately."
"Are you the owner of this store?"
"Of course not."
Ava's face was extremely cold as she narrowed her eyes, scrutinizing her with a cold laugh.
"Then what gives you the right to prevent your boss from doing business? What gives you the right to prevent this brand from selling things? Tell me, what qualifies you? Just because you're the store manager?"
"I..." The manager opened her mouth but couldn't find words to retort. This woman's aggressive manner was truly intense.
"Pack everything up. Or don't you understand human speech?"
The store manager's face paled with fright.
Actually, from the moment this woman walked in, she could feel she wasn't an ordinary woman.
Those cold, icy eyes, that indifferent attitude, that complete confidence.
But when those other women spoke, she immediately categorized her as a broke person just browsing.
But now she seriously doubted whether she really had no money.
If she really was very wealthy, then she had just offended a major customer.
Thinking this, the store manager looked up at those other women.
Seeing them still wearing those same disdainful expressions gave her some confidence.
Come to think of it, yes.
Buying all the jewelry in the entire store - did she know how much that was? It would be an astronomical figure.
The store manager decided that even if Ava had some money, she couldn't possibly buy everything, so the one who'd end up in trouble would definitely still be her.
With this thought, the store manager's confidence returned.
"Manager, since Ava insists, just pack it for her. Maybe she really does have money." Thea gave the manager a look.
The manager immediately understood.
Thea felt this outing was really worth it - seeing Ava lose face would be absolutely amazing.
Since packing all the store's jewelry would be time-consuming and laborious, and if she really couldn't afford it, they'd have to put everything back later.
They'd be the ones tired out, so they packed part of it first for checkout.
The store manager said to Ava with complete disdain, "Miss, we've packed part of it for you. This portion totals 60 million dollars. Please pay for this first, so we don't have to unpack everything later if you can't pay. That would be troublesome for us."
Ava curved her lips. "You still look down on me."
"Miss, your spending doesn't earn our respect." Seeing her delay in producing a card, the manager directly mocked her.
"Interesting. So you're saying that people who come into your store and don't buy anything don't deserve your respect, right?"
The store manager rolled her eyes impatiently. "Miss, please stop wasting our time here."
"Answer me - yes or no?" Ava pressed.
The store manager was very impatient. "Yes, if you don't buy anything, you're wasting our time."
"So you mean everyone who enters your store must buy something?"
Ava's knife-like gaze fell on the store manager, who couldn't help stammering.
"I... I didn't say that."
She didn't know why, but when this woman stared at her, it felt like a knife cutting across her face.
"That's exactly what you meant. I've recorded everything you said. I'm going to file a complaint against you." Ava finished speaking and directly threw out her card. "Swipe it."
The store manager snorted twice, picking up Ava's card with two fingers, completely dismissive.
Everyone was watching. Mia was especially excited, craning her neck to get a clearer view of Ava's defeated expression.
It would be absolutely amazing.
The card machine made a sound, the receipt slowly printing out...
What?
What does this mean?
Everyone took a long time to process what happened.
The store manager's hand froze at eye level, her eyes staring straight at the words on the card machine.
It clearly read - Transaction Successful.
Everyone's minds felt like they'd been hit with a series of bombshells.
How was this possible?
Sixty million dollars, casually swiping 60 million dollars - what kind of concept was that? What kind of person could casually produce 60 million dollars?
And this one transaction alone was more than double what Thea, Mia, and Lyra had bought combined.
The staff brought up all the packed items in batches for checkout, and under the gaze of people who thought they were dreaming:
70 million dollars!
60 million dollars!
80 million dollars!
60 million dollars!
90 million dollars!
...
Large and small amounts in the tens of millions - swiped ten times in total, buying everything in the store...
Complete silence...
Thea looked at Ava as if in a dream.
What had she just witnessed?
Ava's card seemed to have endless money in it.
Impossible!
Impossible!
Thea couldn't believe it.
Mia shook her head frantically, looking at Ava like she'd gone mad. "Impossible, it's fake, the card machine must be broken. This woman can't possibly have this much money. Impossible, impossible, this must be fake."
The store manager had completely collapsed on the floor, watching the card machine continuously spitting out receipts. She had a strong feeling her job was about to end.
What kind of monster had she offended?
What had she done...
"She actually bought all the jewelry in the entire store."
"Who is she?"
"This is unbelievable. Those women mocking her for not being able to afford things - that's the real joke."
"Right? Her first swipe alone was more than all three of them combined. How did they have the nerve to mock her for having no money?"
"Exactly. Are those three joking? How dare they mock someone else for being poor?"
"If this lady is poor, then what are they?"
"They're probably worse than beggars on the street."
"Haha, I think you're absolutely right."
"And that store manager - the disdainful look she had earlier, and now sitting on the floor in a daze - it's hilarious."
Just then, a group of people entered through the door. Without counting, there were about fifty people, each pair carrying a large box as they walked in.
The man leading them wore a suit and tie. His gaze swept around the store as if looking for someone. The next moment, his target locked directly onto Ava's group.
This person was none other than the general manager overseeing the entire shopping mall.
Someone of his stature, unreachable in their eyes, rarely appeared here.
At this moment, this important figure walked respectfully to Ava and smiled at her. "Ms. Davis, these are your purchases from various stores. For your convenience, we've specially arranged for people to carry them over for you."
Ava raised an eyebrow slightly, glancing behind the general manager.
Everyone else was also staring at this scene in shock.
One after another, fifty large boxes were carried in through the entrance, arranged from the checkout counter all the way to the door.
The general manager waved his hand, and the people behind him immediately opened the boxes.
Fifty boxes in total, and inside all fifty boxes, neatly arranged, was nothing but jewelry.
The scene was simply beyond spectacular.
Did they hear what the general manager just said? He said all of this was what this woman had purchased today at various brand stores.
What?
This many - fifty boxes of purchases in one day, all expensive jewelry.
So this woman went to each store and bought out the entire store, packing everything up to take away.
Mia's eyes widened, not daring to blink as she watched this scene.
Fifty boxes, all jewelry.
A full fifty boxes.
Thea's body trembled continuously. She stepped back several paces, leaning against the wall behind her to barely keep from falling.
Crazy, absolutely crazy.
How did that bitch Ava manage this?
How was this possible?
Ava didn't know what was going on either. Finn leaned close to her ear and said a few words, and Ava immediately understood who was behind this.
Isabella was absolutely stunned. She'd known Ava was wealthy, but now Ava had an even wealthier husband who had directly helped her empty out the entire mall's jewelry.
Simply jaw-dropping.
The store manager, even in death, couldn't have imagined what kind of person she'd offended. As she sat there in a daze, the general manager had already walked up to her.
