Chapter 23 His overprotectiveness
Teddy's fingers tightened around his fork, and his eye narrowed. In his mind he was already imagining himself murdering the fucker who dares to ask his little princess on a date.
"What?" He exclaimed through clenched teeth his eyes hazel eyes had darker, and the left side of his lips kept twitching.
Miley continued to eat without looking up" I'm going on a date today " She brought a fork of meatballs to her mouth" His name is Angelo. He's a dentist student at med school "She added, and then grabbed a glass of the table before pouring juice into it from a speaker.
She took a sip of the grape juice, and looked at her fathers face. She raised a brow at his expression, and tilted her head.
" Dad? What's the Matter do you need some juice too?" She asked, before reaching for another glass.
She filled it with juice before pushing it towards him. "Here" She said before continuing to eat.
Teddy stared at the juice that he was just handed, and scowled. How the hell should he react in this situation? In a way that won't hurt her feelings or makes things worse. She was still upset at him so he knew that he had to thread lightly.
He forced a smile "That's nice" He said, before focusing on his plate.
"I'm home!!" The sound of Lily's voice made them both turn around to the direction of the dining room entrance.
Lily walked into the dining room in a white knee length body in dress, and heels with her hair in it's usual ponytail. She smiled when she saw them at the table.
"Hey, people" She walked to the table, and fell on a chair next to Teddy, and sighed loudly.
She reached for Teddy's glass, and downed half of the juice before placing it down on the table.
Miley smiled "Hectic day? " She Asked and Lily sighed.
"You have no idea. We almost lost the main eye witness from a shoot out which was too weird to be just a coincidence" She said, and turned to chair around to take her heels.
"I believe that it was a planned attack on the witness. Now he has to stay in witness protection until next week" She explained and snatched Teddy's plate along with his fork which was half way to his mouth.
"Hey!" He exclaimed but didn't try to get the food back.
"Im hungry" Lily shrugged before she started eating.
"Well, you should have asked Miley to prepare you some. Why did you have to grab my food?" He asked which made Lily smirk.
"Food that I snatch from you is always more delicious" She replied which made Miley crack.
Teddy huffed, and rose from his chair. "I'm gonna go get some sleep" He said and walked away.
Lily continued to eat without a care in the world "By the way your dress for the fundraising on Saturday was delivered yesterday" She said, which made Miley scowl.
Her and those bloody fundraisings. Every single time she has one if those events she always drags Miley along which she always hated.
When she asked her mom why she has to go she says something about socializing and having connections. As if being a doctor needed her to befriend the mayor's son.
"The dress is a bit complex to put on so that means you have to arrive at Friday" Lily said, and Miley chuckled.
"No can do. I have a date on Friday" She said catching her mother of guard.
"You? Date?" She asked before chucking "Girl, you treat boys like they carry some contagious disease. You keep you distance. Five meters max!" She exclaimed which made Miley frown.
"What do you mean by that?! " She asked in disbelief.
Lily chuckled "Miley honey, you wouldn't be able to hold a proper conversation with a boy even if it was to save you life" She said, before shrugging as if it was the most obvious thing ever.
"Mom" Miley pouted which made Lily smirked.
"But, that aside. I hope you have fun at your 'first ever' date." She put emphasis on the first ever"Just make sure you us protection. I'm not ready to be grandma just yet "She said which made Miley groan.
" Seriously mom? "Lily took a sip of her juice before standing up, with a shrug.
" Be sure to do the dishes before you leave "She said, before walked away.
Miley just watched her walk away before sighing. She stood up, and gathered up the dishes to wash them.
After she was done, she grabbed her purse from the counter and requested for an Uber. As soon as the Uber arrived, she left her childhood he to her student hostel.
Catherine yawned softly on her bed, and turned over. She had been watching series after series for the past few hours, and was star to get really bored.
She was suddenly missing Miley, and wished for her to come back so she could get on her nerves abit more.
She sighed and kept her gaze on her laptop screen when a knock came at the door. She sprung up on the bed, before jumping of tripping on the velvet blanket she had used to cover herself she cussed before kicking the blanket off.
She stood up, and walked to the door before opening it. She had honestly thought that the knocker was Miley seeing her brother standing on her door step her already sour mood turned bitter.
She scoffed"What do you want? "She folded her arms under breasts, and leaned on her doorframe.
Riccardo looked at his sister which a soft and tender gaze. His heart completely broke when he saw how she looked at him like his mere existence was disturbing the balance of reality.
"I just came to check on you, and Miley. How is she?" He asked looking concern.
Catherine scowled before scoffing "You have her number don't you? Then why don't you call her, and ask her directly" Catherine said, before trying to walk back in.
Riccardo grabbed her wrist "Cat.... I"
"No!! You don't get to call me that! You lost the right to call me that the day you left as a little kid and never came back!! " She glared at him with her face red as she gritted her teeth. "When you didn't come to any of my birthdays, I started to resent you, and I still do" She shoved him back.
Luckily, the hallways was empty or else the students would have something to bond on for quite a while. It's not everyday that you see a professor getting snapped, and shoves around by a student.
Riccardo ran a hand through his dark brown hair "Cat... Catherine that's why I came here... To apologize" He said which made Catherine laugh.
"I don't have time for this. Can you leave!" She said coldly.
