Alpha Anton peered out of the window in his office as he looked at the overgrown trees. An intense longing came over him, and he suddenly wished that Kyra was by his side. It had only been a few days, and she seemed to have found a way to get under his skin that he wanted to see and always argue with her. He loved the fire that burned in her eyes when she got angry and also the upward tilt of her upper lip that he found to be so adorable. It wasn’t normal one bit.
"What is it about you that makes me want to be by your side at every moment?" He whispered to himself.
A knock sounded at the door and he slowly turned towards it. "Who is it?" He managed. He could always tell who was at the door from the scent but he was too distracted by thoughts of Kyra.
"It’s Abraham, alpha," came the response.
"Come in,’ Alpha Anton said quietly.
He moved away from the window to stand in front of his chair where he rested his palms on the table, still standing. He was too restless to sit down so this was the best alternative at the moment. And, it didn’t help that his Beta looked rather apprehensive as he opened the door and walked in.
"Alpha, I’m sorry for disturbing you at this time of the day, but there has been a new development," Beta Abraham said calmly.
Alpha Anton frowned at that. "What could be the matter now? Does it have anything to do with Kyra?"
"No, not at all! One of the pack members is here. She is demanding to see you and looked quite distraught. I tried to soothe her to the best of my abilities but she is not ready to calm down," he explained.
Alpha Anton pulled himself to his full height as he slid his hands through his hair while moving around the table to where Abraham was standing.
"Did she tell you what the matter was?" He asked calmly.
Craig shook his head in response which only made Alpha Anton more anxious. He knew that something was terribly wrong, but the problem was that he didn’t know what that was. His pack memes never demands to see him directly of the situation was not grave.
"Let’s go," Alpha Anton managed.
He walked as fast as he could to the throne room. There were about ten guards in there, five at each side. A middle aged woman stood in the centre of the room in black slacks and a white shirt and she was about to cry. There was a lot of pain in her eyes, and it didn’t help that she was holding onto her shirt so tightly.
Alpha Anton walked to his throne and took the black staff before settling down on the black chair. The woman in question bowed in obeisance.
"Why did you request for my presences, woman?" He asked at once.
She staggered forward as she looked at them with worry evident in her gaze. "My name is Trish Wolfe, and I have been locking for my daughter since yesterday. She is a young child of 18, and doesn’t move around with anyone. She stays on her own and tries her best not to do rash things. But, she hasn’t called and I know that something is wrong. I can feel it in my soul that she is in a lot of problems."
Trish went down on her knees right then. She placed her hands together in front of her like a prayer. "She is my only child, and I love her beyond words. Please, help me bring her back home because I can’t live without her."
Alpha Anton looked at the woman closely. He could see how much the mucus slid down her nose and tears down her red and puffy eyes. She was a mess. And, he felt responsible for that in some way. There must be a way to help her out, and the only thing he had to do was figure that out what way.
"I would help you look for your child," he said as he fanned himself slowly.
Trish moved closer, and held his legs in gratitude. Alpha Anton signalled for the men to help bring her back in order. He was not one to do such drama in any way or form.
"You have to control yourself, woman. There are still a few questions you need to answer so the warriors can do their jobs effectively. We will need a full description of your daughter if you don’t have hee picture with you here." he said calmly.
“I do have her pictures with me.” The woman quickly searched inside the bag hanging on hee shoulder and brought out a photo album which one of the guards moved to collect from her.
Then, Anton turned to Abraham, signaling him to come closer to where he was. When Abraham did as he was told, Alpha Anton said softly, "You’re in charge of the search team, but whatever happens out there must be reported to me. Do you understand?"
"Yes, Alpha," Beta Abraham said as he walked off.
An intoxicating scent slowly made its way to Alpha Anton’s nostrils, and he slowly turned in the direction of the stairs, only to see Kyra leaning there, in a beautiful blue skirt and a white top. She looked so flawless and it took all he had not to open his mouth.
He watched as she slowly made her way to him while looking at Trish with worrisome eyes. When she got to him, she slid her hair behind her ears softly then, turned her attention to him.
"I don’t mean to pry, but I couldn’t help but hear the shouts and commotions. It made me rather anxious, not that you care about that. But, the point is I’m curious at what the matter is," she said at last.
Alpha Anton leaned against one hand as he said, "Were you sleeping?"
She scoffed. "Be serious now," she said with a hint of irritation. She just told him she heard the commotion. How would she have heard it if she was sleeping in her room tnsg was the furthest from here?
Alpha Anton smiled in his head. Kyra was still not sure about talking to him about the situation but was too curious about it, he could see it in the way she interacted with him. The fact that she pushed her uncertainty away and was talking with him at all, made him feel slightly better, even if she just wanted to know about what was going on.
The last thing that he wanted was for her to roll into her shell, exactly the same way she did in his room after that petty that night, without even acknowledging him a bit. That would hurt because he still wanted her to be by his side.
"Alpha?"
"Oh, yes," he said easily. Alpha Anton gestured to the sad mother that couldn’t seem to hold her tears. "She is looking for her missing daughter," he explained calmly.
He watched as her she shook lightly before placing a shaky hand on her chest. "Does this type of thing happen often?"
"No," he said bluntly.
"Then, what happened now?"
Alpha Anton sighed as he looked back at the woman. It was the one thing that he needed to find out right now. There was no way any of these would simply happen without an explanation. If the girl was not lost within the pack and some other pack had set eyes on his pack and taken away a member, they would regret it because he didn’t tolerate any nonsense.
He snapped his fingers. "Hans, you need to go to the pack borders at once and make sure you see if there are any suspicious activity there, and if you find the woman’s daughter in the process, bring her back here."
Hans nodded and left the throne room at once. Alpha Anton anxiously shifted in his seat. He was beyond worried about how everything was going at that moment. "You know something, Kyra," he said early.
"What?" She queried.
He turned to her. "Nothing. Many another pack took her."
“Yes, that’s exactly what I’m thinking. It’s a good thing hee mother noticed on time and came to you for help. Poor girl.” Kyra looked very sad at that moment.
Anton observed here with dark and intense eyes, “Of course, every parent would notice if their child goes missing and would immediately begin to look for them.”
“Not my father though.” Kyra mumbled as her eyes took on a faraway look as if remembering something: her past.
“Your father wouldn’t look for you?” Anton was surprised when he shouldn’t be. A father who sold off his daughter, because he was angry at her, for money could do anything. “He is really a bad father.”
“He was a bad parent but only to me.” Then she changed the topic before he could say anything, “We should exhaust everything we have into finding her daughter first."
Alpha Anton looked at Kyra as though he were just seeing her for the first time. She has just spoken about how her father had not looked for her the time he presumed she went missing then moved quickly to talking about helping this woman find her daughter.
Kyra was a strong woman because he did not know many women who wouldn't be scared to be far away from their home and still have the urge to help another person.
"You have the whole attributes of a Luna, Kyra," he did not know when the words left his mouth.
