Chapter 120

They were about to leave when they suddenly heard a yell, instructing them to stop.

Emily made an eye contact with the other hunters as they were in for war.

As the soldiers drew knew to them, they pulled out their swords, and began fighting against them.

Their swords clanged against each other making resonant noises.

They were only a few soldiers, taking them out was nothing for the hunters.

"Quick! Follow me" Emily commanded and began running towards the back exit.

She just couldn't get why the packs were no where to be seen?

Could Damian had eliminated them all?

These thoughts flooded her mind and she couldn't help but worry about it.

Damian himself seem not to be in the palace.

Emily's brow furrowed with concern as she paced around the last room, her mind racing with thoughts of the missing packs.

"Where could they be?" she muttered to herself, frustration etched on her face. She retraced her steps, trying to recall the last time she had seen the packs.

A sense of responsibility weighed heavily on her shoulders, and Emily couldn't shake off the feeling that she had let someone down. She continued searching, determined to find the missing packs and put her worries to rest.

Once again, soldiers trooped in to attack them.

Emily stood firmly with the hunters, her heart racing with anticipation as they faced off against their opponents. The arms rose with tension, the hunters sizing each other up with a mixture of caution and hostility.

As the fight began, Emily's training kicked in, her movements swift and precise as she clashed with the opposing soldiers. Her sword was fast as she controlled it, striking true time and again as she dodged and weaved between the enemy's attacks.

The hunters fought with a ferocity that bordered on desperation, their faces twisted with a mixture of fear and determination.

Emily's own resolve hardened as she realized that this was more than just a battle---it was a fight for survival.

To her left, one of the hunters, a burly man with a scar above his eyebrow, took down an opponent with a swift kick to the chest. To her right, another hunter, a young woman with a curly hair, parried a series of rapid blows with her sword, her movements a blur of speed and agility.

Emily fought on, her senses heightened as she navigated the chaos of the battlefield. She was a whirlwind of steel and fury, her sword slicing through the enemy's defenses with deadly precision.

Despite being outnumbered, Emily and the hunters held their ground, fighting with a fierce determination that slowly began to turn the tide of the battle. The enemy began to falter, their movements becoming more desperate and erratic as Emily and the hunters pressed their advantage.

In the end, it was Emily who delivered the final blow, her sword plunging deep into the heart of the enemy's leader. The leader of the soldiers eyes widened in shock as he crumpled to the ground, defeated.

Emily began panting, her chest heaving with exhaustion. The hunters cheered, their faces flushed with triumph, as Emily smiled grimly, her eyes scanning the battlefield for any signs of danger. The fight may have been won, but the war was far from over.

Three other hunters joined them where they were standing.

"We have a problem" the hunters brought the news.

"What is wrong?" Emily inquired.

"We found some bodies dead on the ground---".

"From the looks of it, it was a week ago that they were killed" a lady chipped in.

"Can you take me there?" Emily questioned.

" I'm afraid not. We've been noticed by the enemies soldiers. It won't be long until they come at us with their endless numbers" she replied to Emily.

"She's right" another man added.

"How about the others?" Emily asked the latter.

"We've haven't heard from them yet".

"Fine! But we can't just leave them" Emily stated.

While she moved a foot, she suddenly heard a crack sound from the floor.

"Shush!" she beckoned to the others.

"Did you hear that?" she questioned them while trying to move her foot again.

The sound didn't appear by coincidence as it sounded again.

She believed there was certainly something down there.

Emily knelt down and used her sword to prick out the door a little.

She had help from two others who helped her in opening the door fully.

All the hunters as well as Emily, jumped into the basement.

They walked straight ahead, following the pathway that was broad.

As they approached another door, they began to hear voices of tortured people.

Emily gave them a hault sign and ordered them to be quiet.

She reached the door and opened it slightly.

She peeped through the slight opening to count the numbers of soldiers that were in the room.

Once she got their numbers, she alerted the hunters of the plan to get in.

They left the door open to draw the soldiers attention.

The soldiers were indeed interested in the opened door.

They was no one standing at the open door.

The soldiers were shocked to see no one behind the door.

Two of them went to check it out.

As soon as they got passed the opened door, it was locked behind them.

They were eliminated behind the closed doors, preventing those inside from seeing what is going on.

The door was opened again, making the soldiers inside more curious to know what was going on.

They left torturing the packs and went to see what hadd happened to their men.

They came out of the opened door and eventually got into a fight with Emily and her hunters assistant.

The battle was massive, their swords clenching against each other.

The soldiers were taking by surprise, so they didn't have much time to gain their stand over their attackers.

Their swords clanged against each other making resonant noises.

They were only a few soldiers, taking them out was nothing for the hunter
