They could see the palace from where they stood.
Emily drew their attentions once more to remember the plans they have organized.
Despite they were only a few of the humters with her, she strongly believed that they could stand a chance.
Emily's eyes gleamed with a fierce intensity as she stood before the hunters, her voice low and urgent. "Listen up, guys," she said, her words dripping with gravity. "We're not just talking about any ordinary fight here today. We're talking about a battle for survival."
The hunters exchanged nervous glances, their faces set with determination. Emily's gaze swept over them, her eyes lingering on each face. "You're all seasoned hunters, I know that," she continued. "But what you're about to face is unlike anything you've ever encountered before."
Emily paused, her breast rising and falling with a deep breath. "These creatures are fast, they're fierce, and they're relentless. They will stop at nothing to take us down, and we need to be prepared to fight back with everything we've got."
The hunters nodded, their faces grim and resolute. Emily's gaze locked onto theirs, her eyes burning with a fierce determination. "I'm not going to sugarcoat it, guys," she said. "We're in for the fights of our lives. But I know we can do this. We've trained for this, we've prepared for this. It's time to put everything we've got into action."
Some rolled their eyes as her advised seemed to piss them off. They had faced werewolves in battle before and didn't actually see what they were going to face as a threat.
As Emily finished speaking, the hunters let out a collective nod, their faces set with determination. They knew what lay ahead, and they were ready to face it head-on. With a fierce cry, they charged forward, ready to take on whatever lay ahead.
Each of them took their respective wings of the palace as they have planned.
Two others stayed outside with arrows to defend them against unexpected attack.
Emily and the other eight paced gently in a bend and began surrounding the palace.
They were looking for a safe passage to go in.
Although, they were numerous soldiers as they had expected, but they didn't seem to be on the lookout for incoming dangers.
Infact, Emily and her partners had an easy passage, without having to hurt the soldiers that stood guard.
Emily's brow furrowed in confusion as she gazed out at the quiet palace. She had been expecting a flurry of activity, a swarm of soldiers rushing to respond to the threat that had been detected. But instead, there was nothing.
She wondered if she had misread the situation?
But no, she was certain that they were Damian's soldiers.
So why weren't the soldiers on alert?
Why weren't they mobilizing, preparing to defend against the threat? Emily's mind raced with questions, her confusion giving way to a growing sense of unease.
Does that mean Damian thinks he's won?
Emily's eyes scanned the horizon, searching for any sign of movement, any indication of what was happening. But there was nothing. Just an oppressive silence, a sense of waiting and anticipation that made her skin crawl.
She and two others made their way to the hallway at the top, where the palace rooms situated.
One after another, they checked each room to see if Lucian or his packs were there.
They weren't in either of the rooms. This got Emily worried.
"Where could Damian have put them?" she questioned herself while she looked around.
Emily's eyes scanned the surrounding area, her mind racing with the possibility that the packs could be lurking nearby. She had been trying to trace them but can't seem to find them anywhere. It seemed as though they had vanished into thin air.
She wondered if they had somehow managed to escape like her father did.
She didn't even inquire that from him.
She knew that the packs were still out there, and that they were likely to be more active at night.
She suddenly thought of Damian. He was certainly in the palace.
Once again, they sneaked into the throne room to see if they could find anyone there.
Eventually, they was no one there but the throne and counsel seats.
"Huh!" Emily exhaled and commanded them to leave. Since everything they seem to do was pointless.
As they were leaving, some soldiers were patrolling towards their area. They went back in to hide behind the throne in the room.
The guards got into the throne room and looked around.
It seemed they heard noises from that area and decided to go check it out.
Emily peeped at what the soldiers were doing.
After taking a quick survey of the room they got out again.
"Check the entire place, something seems fishy" the head guard ordered.
Emily's voice was low and urgent as she addressed the hunters. "We have a problem," she said, her eyes scanning the surrounding area cautiously. "The guards are suspicious. They know we have broken in."
The hunters exchanged uneasy glances, their faces tense with concern. "What makes them think that?" one of them asked, his hand on the hilt of his sword.
The hunters nodded grimly, their expressions serious. They knew the risks of getting caught, and the consequences would be severe.
"We have to act fast and leave on time okay?" Emily advised while they agreed to follow her and act quietly.
However, they heard the sound of a large bell rang.
The sound of the bell was to inform that intruders were in the palace.
"How could they have found out?" Emily questioned while she was in shock about i
"Perhaps, they have found the others" one of the hunters suggested.
"Alright then, it's up to us to complete the task" another suggested.
" No, we have to find out of everyone is ok" Emily stated.
"We will never complete the mission if it appears that they are caught indeed. We have to move on with the plans, else we will be jeopardize also" another advised.
