Chapter 116
She turned back slowly because she heard him call her name, Julie.
Uncertainty and doubts lingered in her mind as she turned to look at him.
She was still running with Lucian holding her hand, but her eyes were fixed at Damian who was chasing them.
Their eyes locked at each other and she almost stumbled while lacking concentration.
Damian's face did not stop to scare her.
"Let's start over Julie, remember you're with my child!" he yelled as he ran after them.
"Uh!" she muttered and placed her hand on her head as she felt pain.
"Are you okay?" he showed his concern as she seemed to grow weak in running.
He carried her in his arms, and pleaded with her not to listen to Damian's taunting words as he had said them to way her down and catch up with the race.
She groaned and relaxed her body in his arms.
He ran swiftly while he held her firmly.
Her hearts raced uncontrollably, although she was in his hands.
She didn't perform the action of running, but she felt her body hurt.
As soon as he came to a particular part of the woods, he stopped and dropped Julie to stand on her feet.
He looked around and placed his hand on the ground.
He held unto a wedger before raising a ground door up.
"Go in!" he commanded while he pushed her effortlessly.
"Are you going to leave me in this woods?" Julie cried.
"I have to get Damian off our trails" Evan confessed.
"You still won't tell me what's happening will you?" she squinted her eyes at him.
"Believe me, it's better you don't know. Just stay here and stay safe. I'll come back for", " They are litted lamps in there" he added and watch her take the first step to climb down the stairs.
The stairs ran down into the hidden basement.
"Please do not leave me here?" she pleaded once more and tried to pull him along.
"it's just for some time" Lucian assured her.
He beckons on her to walk down further.
Slowly and carefully she went down the stairs, repeatedly looking back to see when Lucian would depart from the door.
At last, when she got to the final staircase, she couldn't see a thing above, it was completely dark.
In the basement were numerous lamps that gave the entire basement light.
The basement seemed to be a well equipped apartment.
Who would know that such a place exists in the forest.
She wonders how Lucian knows such secret locations.
There was a bed just at the corner of the wall.
She went and sat upon it immediately to wait for Lucian's arrival.
Her hands on her cheeks while she thought of how oppressive the rest of her life would be living with a werewolf.
Tears rolled down her cheeks while she began sobbing.
Upon the rock she cuddled herself and allow disastrous flood her mind.
She didn't believe her relationship with Lucian could work any longer. She is not willing to pass through further torments. Besides, she is pregnant.
She made whimpers as she thought of her earlier moments with Lucian, when she never knew that he was a werewolf.
As she sobers, she began hearing groans from one of the pathway.
She developed a sign of fear and sat upright on the bed.
Her eyes strictly monitoring the dark pathway for what was beyond it.
She gulps and began to shiver.
"Is anyone there?" she asked in low tune and strain her eyes to see in the dark.
The growling only began echoing louder.
What ever it was, she knew it was appears to be coming closer.
She took a lantern in her hand and got out of the bed.
Her hands shook frequently as she summoned courage to check out what it was.
"Is anyone there?" she questioned while she was at a distance.
"Are you one of Lucian's men?" she questioned further and took a step forward.
The growling became numerous, indicating that they were numerous.
She was hearing creepy sounds and she couldn't shake the feeling that something was watching her.
At first, it was just a faint creaking, a soft groaning that seemed to come from all around her. But as the minutes ticked by, the sounds grew louder and more intense. Julie could feel her fear building, a cold dread that seemed to seep into her bones.
She tried to tell herself that it was just the old house settling, that the creaks and groans were just the result of worn floorboards and rusty hinges. But deep down, Julie knew that she was kidding herself. Something was out there, something that didn't want her around.
As she stood there, her ears straining to pick up every sound, Julie felt a presence behind her. She spun around, but there was no one there. The presence seemed to be everywhere and nowhere at the same time, a malevolent force that seemed to be closing in on her.
Julie's breath came in short gasps as she tried to calm herself down. She told herself that she was being ridiculous, that there was no reason to be afraid. But the fear wouldn't listen. It just kept growing, a cold and creeping dread that seemed to seep into every pore.
She took a step forward, her eyes scanning the darkness for any sign of movement. But there was nothing. Just the creaks and groans, the soft rustling of unknown things. Julie's heart was racing now, her fear building to a fever pitch.
As she stood there, frozen with fear, Julie felt a faint scratching sound. It was soft at first, but it quickly grew louder and more insistent. Julie's eyes went wide as she realized that something was trying to get her attention.
The scratching grew louder and more frantic, until it sounded like fingernails on a chalkboard. Julie's skin crawled as she realized that whatever was making the noise was right behind her.
She spun around, but there was nothing there. The scratching stopped, and the silence was oppressive. Julie felt like she was holding her breath, waiting for something to happen.
And then, without warning, the lights flickered and died. Julie was plunged into darkness, surrounded by the oppressive silence. She felt like she was trapped in a nightmare, with no escape from the terror that surrounded her.
As she stood there, frozen with fear, Julie felt a faint whispering in her ear. It was soft and raspy, a voice that seemed to come from all around her. Julie's skin crawled as she realized that whatever was making the noise was right next to her.
The whispering grew louder and more urgent, until Julie could make out the words. "Get out while you still can," the voice whispered. Julie's heart was racing now, her fear building to a fever pitch.
She tried to move, to take a step forward, but her legs were frozen with fear. The whispering grew louder and more insistent, until Julie felt like she was being consumed by the terror that surrounded her.
And then, without warning, the lights flickered back to life. Julie blinked in the bright light, her eyes scanning the room for any sign of movement. But there was nothing. Just the oppressive silence, and the feeling of being watched.
Julie took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. She told herself that it was just her imagination, that there was no reason to be afraid. But the fear wouldn't listen. It just kept growing, a cold and creeping dread that seemed to seep into every pore.
As she stood there, frozen with fear, Julie realized that she had to get out of there. She had to escape the terror that surrounded her, before it was too late. And so, with a surge of adrenaline, Julie turned and ran, fleeing from the horror that had taken hold of her.
As she stumbled through the doorway, Julie felt a sense of relief wash over her. She had escaped the terror, had managed to flee from the fear that had taken hold of her. But as she looked back, she saw something that made her blood run cold. The door was closing, slowly and deliberately, as if something was trying to trap her inside.
Julie's heart was racing now, her fear building to a fever pitch. She knew that she had to get out of there, had to escape the horror that surrounded her. And so, with a surge of adrenaline, Julie turned and ran, fleeing from the terror that had taken hold of her.
She threw one of the lamps bearing lights into the dark pathway to see what it was that growl.
She let out a scream as soon as she sighted glowing eyes.
Julie took few steps backwards and eventually fainted as fear gripped her.
