Chapter 117

Julie woke up with a headache, her heart racing all of a sudden.

Stress and anxiety clung to her like a shroud.

She had fainted after seeing the glowing eyes.

The morning light streaming through a narrow opening only made her headache worse.

Her body shivered uncontrollably while her hands pressed the ground hard.

Her mind replayed the last event she encountered between Damian and the creatures with glowing eyes.

It seem to be the previous day.

She wished it was a dream as she witnessed the ugly scenes all through.

The memory of Damian's angry face haunted her and she buffed out.

She was afraid to stay in the underground basement any further.

She feared he might come for her as Lucian had left her there.

Julie was mostly mad at herself for coming back.

She recalled how certain advice were given to her about how dangerous Damian was. However, she ignored the words of the cops and friend.

She was starting to regret and hated herself for her mistakes.

If only she could reverse the time, she would chose to never see Damian. Because he became the source of her troubles.

Julie stood up from the ground hastily. Her eyes suddenly met with skunks.

They seemed to be the creatures that had scared her earlier.

She giggled as she realized that they weren't even dangerous.

She suddenly heard a voice above the surface.

She strolled to the door, and held the door handle to open the it. However, it felt stiff and unable to rotate properly.

She made several attempts to open the door, but it didn't open.

She screamed out for Lucian immediately.

No reply was given to her.

Tears rolled down her cheeks as she imagined herself stuck in such a densed place with no one to save her.

It was her first time of actually seeing a werewolf in it's form.

She shivers at each thought of it and cries for her fate.

While she cried, her eyes monitored the window.

A thought came to her mind suddenly. The thought of escaping through the window.

She heaved a sigh of relief and walked towards the window to have plans soughted

Julie's eyes widened in terror as she heard Lucian's voice, low and menacing, echoing through the hallway. She felt a chill run down her spine as she realized that he was coming for her.

Without hesitation, Julie turned and sprinted towards the door, her heart racing with fear. She could hear Lucian's footsteps getting closer and closer, his heavy tread echoing off the walls.

As she reached the door, Julie grasped the handle and flung it open, revealing a dark and empty hallway. She didn't hesitate, dashing out into the corridor with a speed and urgency that belied her fear.

Julie's feet pounded the floor as she ran, her breath coming in ragged gasps. She could hear Lucian's voice behind her, his angry roar echoing off the walls as he gave chase.

Despite her fear, Julie's mind was racing with a single thought: to get to him.

She had to get the door open for Lucian. They had to find a place to hide.

As they ran, Julie's eyes scanned the woods, searching for any way out.

She spotted a hill ahead and alerted Lucian also.

As they reached the bottom of the hill, Julie saw a glimmer of light up ahead and made a walk for it.

They began walking up the hill too get to the top.

None of them noticed how tall the hill was until their legs started staggering halfway up the hill.

Lucian felt his spine dividing and his legs were going to break.

He had been fighting ever since the previous day and haven't gotten time to rest.

Julie on the other hand, didn't look bothered.

Although, her legs were failing he too but she clearly pretended to be fine to prevent Lucian from carrying her.

Lucian didn't say a word to her he wanted to prove that he was fine as Julie seemed to look worried.

He began jogging up the hill like one who was capable of reaching the top in no time.

He was almost at the top when he decided to look back down.

Julie was exactly where he had left her.

She had bend down with her hands on her knees while she panted uncontrollably.

"What the?" he commented while waving his hands at her.

"I can't do it anymore, I'm hungry and tired" she complained and continues panting.

"We've come this far!" Lucian yelled.

"I'm sorry, but you must go on without me" she sounded faintly.

"No! I'm not going on without my lady" he said and began walking down.

He was about to carry her, but she shoved him away with her hand.

" Why are they being so dramatic?" he asked her.

He thought the hill was an abandoned location.

The signboard he read on the way proved that unauthorized entries were illegal.

He reached for her hand as soon as he was close to her and attempted pulling her up.

She groaned in weakness and reluctantly moved forward.

Lucian was left with no choice but to carry her in his arms.

He began walking with her as he climbed up the hill while the other couples watched them.

"How sweet" the husband commented and tried carrying his wife, but eventually they fell down the hill.

Lucian gulped as he thought about himself and Julie. What if he happens to miss a step too?

Julie had much weight as she was having a baby, but he was up to the task of carrying her.

Finally! After facing the never ending slope of hill, he was able to get to the top.

"Yes!" he yelled with a loud voice as he was finally standing at the top of the hill.

"We made it!" he yelled once more and waved his hands to the couple who were still trying to climb up the mountain.

"Did we really now?" Julie stated with a happy gaze and walked closer behind him.

She heaved a sigh of relief and closed her eyes to feel the cool breeze.

"Uh..." he tapped her on the shoulder as he got confused why they were just standing and doing nothing.

She opened her eyes and groaned in annoyance.

"That's it, lets go" she ordered and was about to walk away but almost trip.

His hands wrapped around her waist in an attempt to catch her.

He pulled her closer to himself to keep her balance.

She leaned on his stiff chest and had her hands suddenly wrapping around his neck. She pulled back, but he held her still.

Their eyes locked in a stare while they were holding onto each other.

Julie was still panting as she imagined herself rolling thanks to Lucian who caught her.

Lucian could feel her heavy breath. He counted himself lucky for catching her.

"You should stop holding me now, you're safe" he stated after letting go of her.

She quickly let go of him and rolled her eyes as he was so full of himself at this point.

"I was just kidding, you can totally hold unto me.

"You know, we could just walk you down the hill if you want?" he suggested.

She rolled her eyes once more and rejected the offer.

"What happened to Damian?" she was curious to know.

" Uh---" he stuttered, not really knowing what to say.

"He is still alive isn't he?" Julie asked.

"He won't find us again" Lucian assured, trying to make her look at the bright side that they have finally escaped.

"What's actually the purpose of this running when he can sniff us in a minute?" Julie questioned while she suddenly frowned.

With a swift motion, Lucian pulled Julie through the crowd, his grip on her wrist never faltering. Julie stumbled and staggered, trying to keep up with Lucian's long strides.

As they pushed through the crowd, Lucian's eyes scanned the surrounding area, his senses on high alert for any sign of danger. He knew that Julie was not going to come quietly, and he was prepared for a fight.

Finally, they reached the edge of the crowd, and Lucian pulled Julie into a waiting car. The door slammed shut behind them, and Lucian's driver sped away into the night, leaving the crowded streets behind.

As they drove, Lucian's grip on Julie's wrist never faltered. He held her fast, his eyes glinting with a mixture of anger an

d desire. Julie struggled and kicked, but Lucian just laughed, his grip unyielding.

"You're mine now, Julie," Lucian assured.
