Chapter 236 My family

"Asher, what is wrong? Are you alright?"

Olivia leaned closer to me, and she checked my eyes with her penlight. She looked worried.

"Asher, what is wrong?" She repeated the question, but I didn't know what I could answer. I just shook my head. It wasn't that I didn't want to discuss this with her. It was that we have got Aiden in the room as well.

"Dad, answer mum. She will help you." Aiden tried to encourage me to talk, however when I glanced at him, Olivia sensed something, as she stopped Aiden from talking.

"Aiden, I think dad is fine. I think we just need to talk. Would you mind waiting outside? It won't be long." She told him, but Aiden didn't understand that.

"Why would I leave, mum? Why can't you two talk in my present?"

"Because it is a private, adult matter. Please, darling. I will tell you when we are finished. Okay?"

Aiden obviously didn't like that he got to leave, and I felt sorry for him, but this matter couldn't wait any longer. I was eager to know the truth, and I was eager to tell her she must stay with me. If she was still in love with me, then she couldn't ruin our family just because she didn't want Walter to get hurt twice.

Aiden walked out, but before he would have stepped out of the door, Olivia stopped him.

"Darling, please be so kind, and take the trolley back to the kitchen. Irene will be grateful for your help."

Aiden sighed, then he held the trolley. I knew what was on his mind, and I knew why Olivia sent him away. We both knew that he would quietly listen to our conversation if he would sit outside the room.

Olivia waited until Aiden left, then she motioned me to remain quiet for a while. She wanted Aiden to go as far as possible.

She waited for about a minute, but I wasn't able to wait any longer. I turned my head towards her and looked straight into her eyes.

"Olivia, I want you two to return to the farm with me as soon as I get better."

Olivia sighed.

"No, Asher, I am afraid we must stay in York for a while. You have a few broken ribs, you can't play with that. Even if you are an Alpha werewolf, the wolfsbane ruined your body for a while. You won't be able to heal nicely without help."

"You are a doctor. You can take care of me."

"I also got to take care of Aiden. Why don't you want to accept help? Asher, don't be silly."

She argued, but I didn't want to leave it.

"I want to go back to the farm with you and Aiden." I repeated, but she lowered her head.

"Asher, we no longer live on the farm."

"But I want to go back with you there!" I wanted to shout, but I couldn't as my voice didn't come back properly yet. She looked at me suddenly and frowned.

"I thought you were an Alpha, and you want to go back to your pack and manage it."

I sighed, then I lowered my head.

"I just want to go back to the farm with you."

She frowned more. Her expression showed that she didn't understand me at all.

"And what about the pack members? Will you just leave them in the cave instead of giving their home back?"

I sighed this time.

"That pack would never be the same as before, and I have no strong werewolves to rebuild it. I don't even know what they ruined there. I gave up on that. I just want to live with you and Aiden."

"Asher, I am really sorry to hear that, but there are things that you can't undo."

I looked at her, and I just stared at her for a little while. I tried to read her face, and what I saw there didn't make me happy at all.

"Olivia, you and I are having a pup, a child. I know I was a useless mate and a useless father, but I promise I would change. I don't want to be an Alpha any more. I don't want anything else, just being with you two. I just want to be Aiden's father, and I want to be your mate."

Her face changed, like she didn't understand what I was saying again. She stared at me for a little while, then she sighed, while she lifted her hand to cover her forehead.

"Asher, I think you are really wrong."

"Why? I am choosing my family, instead of my pack, that can't be a home of werewolves again. Why would that be wrong?"

"Because you are thinking stupid." She stated.

"No, I am not. I am completely clear. Listen to me. When I was laying there in that cell in my blood, I was thinking a lot. I know I should have given you and Aiden more of me. I know I shouldn't have gone after my pack foolishly, and I know I should have stayed with Aiden and you. When I was laying there, I had time to think of us. There is nothing that would be more important to me than you and Aiden. I am choosing you. I don't want to live without you. I want to be your mate, and I want to raise Aiden with you."

When I finished my speech she rolled her eyes before she looked at me agian.

"Oh, Asher! I think you really hit your head badly."

"Maybe I did, but that doesn't change anything. I won't let you be with him. I know he is immortal, just like you and Aiden. I know he is a scientist, probably with a knowledge that I will never have. Currently, he is much stronger than I am, but I will stand up. My body will heal, and I will be fit again. I won't let you two leave me. Aiden is my son, he is my blood, and I won't let anyone else raise him but me."

I could hardly say those words, and I didn't like Olivia's expression while she lowered her head and sighed. However, both of us looked at the door that opened up suddenly.

"He won't raise me! What are you talking about, dad? Mum, what does he talking about?"
