Chapter 237: An extraordinary family

Olivia sighed and disbelief, and she glanced at the ceiling. "Aiden, I asked you to stay outside."

Aiden lowered his head in embarrassment, but he soon lifted his head up again and looked at her.

"But you were talking about who would raise me. I think that is my business as well."

He said, and for a moment, his stubbornness made me smile.

"Aiden, please leave us alone." Olivia told him, and Aiden, even if he wanted to stay with us. He rolled his eyes, then turned around and walked out of the door.

After he closed it behind him, Olivia sighed and sat down on the bed next to me. She held my hand.

"Asher, I want you to understand something. And listen to me carefully."

I wanted to keep talking, convincing her to stay with me, but she motioned to me to zip it. I sighed, and I looked at her.

"I love you. I loved you, while I wasn't sure if I would see you again in this lifetime. Even if everyone around me tried to make me move on, I was the only one who still believed that you were alive." She sighed again. "Aiden is your son, and there is no one who would be more suitable to raise him than you. Walter helped us a lot while you weren't with us, but I would never, ever choose to live with him instead of you. I would rather raise Aiden alone."

What she said made me frown. Could that be I wasn't right? Could that be because the Moon Goddess liked me, she gave me another chance to live with my family again?

"The reason I want to stay here for a while is that I have Aiden as well, and I have to take care of him as well. You aren't in a good state, and you have broken bones. I don't want to move you like this. Walter took care of you. He did your surgeries, therefore I think the best would be if he would check on you a few times. That is all."

"But you said that you no longer live on the farm."

She sighed again.

"No, actually, I didn't want to be so far from everyone during searching for you. I bought a flat here, and we lived there. It is very comfortable, and near. So after you are dismissed from the hospital, we can stay there."

I could hardly breathe, and I couldn't even hide my excitement, because the machine demonstrated my rapid heartbeat again. To know that she was still in love with me and to know that she had nothing to do with Walter made me feel much better, but I didn't want to stay in York. After experiencing the calmness of the farm, I planned to go back there, and live our family-life there, in peace. I looked away.

"Do you mean you want to stay here? Do you mean you don't want to return to the farm?"

She smiled and shook her head.

"No, neither. I don't want to stay here, and I don't want to go back to the farm either."

I looked at her with a frown, but she was still smiling.

"But where do you want to live, then?" I asked her, but she just smiled wider, and she sighed. "I think that is better if your son will share this information with you."

As soon as she said that, Aiden opened the door and stormed into the room. He smiled widely, and there wasn't a single sign of embarrassment on his face.

"I thought you would never get to this part, mum." Olivia closed her eyes for a second in disbelief, then she looked back at Aiden.

"If you're planning to leave us no privacy from now on, I would need to go away with your father often, leaving you home alone."

Aiden, however, shrugged his shoulders.

"I will be an adult soon, anyway. I can take my own trips as well then."

Olivia laughed, but not in agreement. "Not until I say so." She said and glanced back at me.

Aiden sat on the other side of the bed and looked at me as well.

"So, after you are able to move, we will move back to the Blue Moon Pack."

I frowned, then I rolled my eyes.

"Aiden, that pack is over. The place needs a good rebuild, and I have not enough werewolves to do that. I am sorry, but the best I can offer you is that we can move back to the farm and live a happy life there."

"You are wrong, Dad." He shook his head.

"No, I am not."

"You are wrong, Dad." Olivia repeated our son's words, and that made me frown more. I couldn't believe that I couldn't make them understand my pack didn't exist anymore.

"I would love to say that we could move back and start everything over, but like I said, I have no strong werewolves left." I repeated.

Olivia glanced at Aiden, who sighed.

"I am sorry, dad, but then it seems like you don't know your pack. Since they accepted my mum and me as their temporary Alpha, they worked a lot. If you ask me, we don't even need stronger werewolves. The pack's houses have been cleaned. The land and buildings are in a good condition. All our pack's members returned from the cave, and they are living happily."

My eyes widened, and I couldn't believe my ears. I frowned, and I looked at Olivia, asking her silently if that was true.

She smiled.

"You should have seen your son, how resolute he was. He even worked on the fields, helping the pack out, so everything is back in line now."

She glanced at the smiling Aiden, and she held his hand as well.

"Your pack is waiting for your return, Alpha."

Aiden told me, and I couldn't describe the feeling I felt. I never expected this day would come into my life. I have never expected to have such a mate and such a successor. My chest wanted to rip, but this time it wasn't the pain. It was the love that my strange, but beloved, family gave me. I have never been so proud in my entire life. I couldn't be more grateful for the life I got, and for them.
