Chapter 233 Promises
I don't know how long I laid there. I didn't know how long it take. I was sure I was dying, but I didn't understand what takes so long, and why I only saw darkness around me.
I tried to think of the good times we had, but it was even harder to think. An unfamiliar power made my eyes remain closed. I was sure I have passed, but I could feel some people around me trying to move me. As I thought how thin I was I knew they didn't struggle a lot. I didn't know what was happening to me, but I didn't even wanted to know. They lifted me up, and they carried me somewhere. The sounds told me that they put me in a car and the car soon started moving.
I could still feel my body, and I felt my hand being held by Olivia’s cold hand. I have always liked to feel that, so I enjoyed feeling her coldness. I was happy to pass away like that.
I could feel the car was shaking for a long time and that made my body ache again, but I didn't care about that anymore. I also felt when the car had stopped, and they took me out of it. Somehow, it remainded me of an ambulance car that stopped at a hospital with a patient.
Slowly, I started to understand was really happening to me. Olivia's cold hand was still holding mine, and I didn't understand why I felt like that, but for a reason it was like they have found me, and they tried to help me. As I felt the bed that I was laid on had been pushed into somewhere, my body started shivering. I started to feel cold, like I had a temperature, and the pain in my body was almost unbearable. I felt like that until I felt a needle get in my vein again and an unfamiliar power made me fall asleep, like I could feel nothing.
From then on, I had no dreams, and no pictures. There was only darkness.
I was like that for a long time, and I was wondering what happened to me, when I got back to my senses slowly.
I wondered really, as my body didn't ache. I didnt' shiver, and it was like really I died. I laid like that for a while, scared to open my eyes. I was worried if I open them, then I would find myself in the cold and dirty room angain, tortured by those two.
But somehow it was different now. I was laying comfortably. As I tried to use my senses, I felt like I was lying on a bed. It was soft, and warm. And I was also covered with a light material.
I could understand nothing. I tried to recall my memories about the car, that shook me, about the figures that lifted me up, about what had happened before I fell asleep, And I also recalled the pictures of my beloved Olivia, who tried to bite my skin.
I wanted to know the truth, so I tried to open my eyes.
It took me a while to realize I wasn't in the cold, dirty room any more. I really laid in a bed, and the ceiling with the LED lamps on remained me of a hospital's ceiling. My throat was dry, but I wasn't hungry any more.
I just wondered where I was. Could that be the picture of Olivia, and all the feelings were real? I tried to move my head, and then I heard someone to move in the room. A cold hand held mine, and as I moved my eyeballs, I saw Olivia's worrying face. The other cold hand of her moved to my face, and she caressed it. It was so good to feel her next to me.
"What happened to me?" I only could form the words, as there was no sound came out of my mouth.
"I am really sorry, Asher, but you can't drink yet." She turned to the bedside table, and she made a tissue wet. She started to wipe my lips with it gently.
"A few of your ribs broke. You had a long surgery, but we fixed you. You don't need to worry, you will be fine again."
"What happened?" I tried to ask her again, and she watched my lips with a frown. Then she shook her head.
"That isn't important now, Asher. The most important is that you must get well as soon as possible. You will get well, but you need a lot of rest."
I looked at her, and there were so many questions I wanted to ask her. I wanted to asked her how they found me. I wanted to ask her what had happened to Harry and Lucy. But most importantly, I wanted to ask her what had happened to us. I wanted to know if she really was together with Walter again. I wanted to know if Aiden was enjoyed his company more than mine. I knew I could be blamed for the entire situation, and she had all the rights to say that she doesn't want to stay with me; to say that she wanted a more responsible father for Aiden, but I needed to know the truth. I knew that would hurt me badly, but I had to know what was happening now.
I stared at her face, and the way she gently wiped my lips, made me love her more. I didn't know if I could take the truth. Right then, I thought I wouldn't be able to take a break up. I wanted to stay with her. I wanted to stay with her and Aiden forever. That was the time when I started to pray to the Moon Goddess to let me have them back. I didn't want to live in a life where they wasn't with me. I asked the Moon Goddess to do that last favour for me, and I promised that I would be a good partner, the best father, and a responsible alpha.
