Chapter 48
Elise POV:
I landed hard on the ground. A gasp leaves my lips. I keep my eyes closed as I hear yelling from all around. Hands immediately touch my body seconds after.
“What the fuck is your problem.”
“You could fucking hurt her.”
“Is this what you fucking came for?”
“What happened to, I'm not going to harm her?”
“This is fucking bullshit and you need to leave.”
“I didn’t fucking do that. All I did was ask her to stop. I would never harm Elise. Ezra would kill me.”
The yelling continues as my ears start ringing. I feel hands pull me
close to them. The rage inside of me settles down. I keep my eyes closed and try to control my breathing.
I have no clue what the hell is happening but I need to get this rage under control. I can’t let it consume me. I feel like it’s changing me
as a person. I don’t like the way I feel.
*Ezra will hurt you.
*
My heart beats like crazy as I hear a male voice inside of my head. It’s the same voice from my dreams. I could never forget that voice that haunts me every night.
“Elise,” I hear Kyros’ voice very near to me. Fingers run through my hair.
“She’s not hurt, Kyros,” I hear Juliangelly say.
“Then why isn’t she opening her eyes,” I hear him ask. His voice was laced with worry.
“I’m okay,” I croak out. “Let me calm my mind please.”
“I’m taking her inside,” Kyros says.
He shifts and brings me closer to his body. Then I’m being lifted up as he carries me home.
“Wait,” I hear someone yelling.
“Fuck off,” I hear Ezekiel say.
The yelling gets further away. I snuggle into Kyros. He lets out a soft chuckle.
Leaving him is going to be really hard. But I must enjoy the time we have together. One day at a time, right?
I open my eyes as he sets me down on the bed. He looks down at me. His eyes were full of worry. I smiled at him.
“Please don’t worry. I’m okay,” I tried to reassure him.
“I don’t know if I can do that. You’ve become someone important to me. I’m always going to worry,” he says. He leans his forehead down on mine. “I could get lost looking into your eyes. The purest of blues I have ever seen.”
I can feel my face heating up and I’m sure he can see me blushing.
“We are going to get things ready and set up to take you to the seer in a few days. We are going to have one of the healers from Crown Diamond come here so Juliangelly can come with us. I don’t want to leave the pack without a healer in case something happens. But we will get some answers for you,” he says.
“Okay,” I responded. Hopefully this goes smoothly and we get the answers we are looking for.
There is a knock at the door. Kyros gets up and walks over to it, opening the door. Hunter walks into the room. He holds up a book that resembles a journal.
“Tae gave me this. Ezra had a backup plan in case Elise refused to go with them. He wants her to read it,” Hunter says.
He hands the book over to Kyros. Kyros skims through the book.
“It’s a journal,” he says. He looks confused as he takes a closer look.
“He left her a message in the back. I didn’t read it. It’s what Tae said,” Hunter tells Kyros.
Kyros flips to the back of the journal. He looks over at me before he reads it. What I didn’t expect was for him to read it out loud.
“Lisee, if you are reading this then that means you decided to stay with Kyros. This is going to have to be my second option. Although I wish I was at your side as you read this. This is a journal your mother wrote for you before you were born. Please read it. It’ll help you understand the changes you are going through. Don’t be so hard headed. This journal won’t do you any harm. Please read it, Lisee. Just know that I will bring you home one day. And that's a promise. Signed Ezra,” Kyros finishes reading it.
“Can I see it,” I ask, letting curiosity get the best of me. Kyros walks over and hands me the journal.
I look down at it. I get a sense of energy flowing from the journal. Peaceful vibes fill my body.
I open it to the first page. There is nothing on it at first other than my name at the top.
But then a message appears out of nowhere.
