Chapter 49

Elise POV:

*My dear Elise. This journal is spelled only for your eyes. I made sure that no one else could read the secret messages but you. I used a small sample of your blood when you were born. Many years later down the road, I want you to be able to read this journal and understand why you may be going through certain things. But just know, you are loved and protected. You will blossom into a beautiful faerie. A strong and powerful one as well. *

I’m having a hard time believing this was made for me. “Kyros, can you see what this page says,” I ask him, leaning the journal over so he can see.

“It only has your name on it,” he says looking at me in confusion.

“You don’t see the message on here,” I ask. He shakes his head.

“There is no message there. Only your name,” he says. “Do you want me to go so you can read it?”

“Ummm,” I hesitated. Should I read this journal?

“I think maybe you should at least peek through it. A journal isn’t going to cause you harm. And I didn’t see any weird stuff when I skimmed through it. Just treat it like if you were reading a book,” he says, encouraging me to read the journal.

I agree to read it. He chooses to give me some space and walks out of the room. I sit on the bed staring down at the book for a few minutes before I open it again.

*I can’t wait to see what you will look like when you are born. I’ve seen visions of you when you are older. You will be the most beautiful dark faerie in the whole realm. You will rule alongside Prince Ezra. And don’t tell the others but I see someone else in your future too. I won’t say who he is quite yet but I know he will care for you very much.

This journal is to hopefully bring you peace. I’m hoping I am wrong about what the future will bring once you are here. I hope you don’t get torn from my arms like my dreams tell me. I want you to be safe. I want you to feel the love we all have for you.

One day you will look back at things that have happened and truly understand the reason for them. If things are hard for you right now, then I promise they will get better.

If you do get torn out of my arms and disappear, then going through a transition is going to be the hardest thing for you. If at all possible you need to get to Ezra. He can help you. He will know how to help you navigate the anger coursing through your veins.

The anger is there because you didn’t transition as a child when you should have. The anger makes your powers uncontrollable. You could hurt someone if you aren’t careful. Ezra can help, don’t push him away. He won’t harm you.

*

The more I read the more confused I am about things. I don’t want to believe that I am this person. I don’t want it to be real. I want things to go back to normal. I want to forget about all of this. I just want to go to sleep and wake up in my bed back home. I want all of this to be a dream.

I take some deep breaths before continuing to read the journal.

*Your body is a sensitive thing. Your emotions will become more heightened. Your anger will cause storms, big powerful ones. Your eyesight will change. You will be able to see things a lot of people can’t see. You will start to feel a certain way towards werewolves. Don’t follow that instinct. It’s only there because of whoever took you from me.

The wolves will not harm you. They will protect you in your times of need. They can help guide you but they won’t be the full help you need. Which is why it’s important for Ezra to be the one to guide you. He knows what you need. With him being your destined partner, it's essential for him to be part of your transition.

Don’t be stubborn.

*

How can I just do as this says? I want to believe that Ezra was the one who wrote this but I don’t think he did.

I don’t think I can read more right now. I need to think some things through. There is so much going on. I can’t think things straight.

A lot of things point to me being this long lost faerie princess. But what if they are all wrong? What if this is just another trick from those after me? They said they wanted to use me.

That must be it. Whoever those people are must be playing games with all of us. I’m not who Ezra says I am. I’m not this faerie princess. I am simply just Elise. A normal girl stuck in a different realm.

Piling all these things on top of one another just makes me more thrilled for the right time to come when I finally get to go home. I will enjoy my time with Kyros and the others. I will gladly stay the fuck away from Ezra.

But why do I feel a strace of pain on my chest at the thought of leaving Ezra behind?
