Ignorance

Chapter 76: Ignorance 1

Louis's pov

I sat at the dining table with my children, and my mate, Kayla, was sitting across from me. The room was quiet, and no one was speaking. I looked at my children, trying to gauge their mood. They seemed content, but I wanted to make sure they were okay. "Are you all doing alright"I asked. They both nodded, their faces lit up with smiles. "We're fine, dad" they said in unison. I let out a sigh of relief, glad to hear that they were okay.

I couldn't take the awkward silence anymore. I stood up, pushing my chair back from the table. I announced, "I'm going to go to my study. I'll see you all later." My children nodded, and Kayla continued to sit there, her face still a mask of indifference. I left the room, the door clicking shut behind me. As I walked down the hall to my study, I felt a mixture of relief and worry. Relief to be away from the tense atmosphere, and worry about what was happening with Kayla.

I sat down at my desk, my mind racing. I couldn't shake the feeling that something was very wrong. I tried to focus on my work, but my thoughts kept drifting back to Kayla. I tried to put it out of my mind, but it was no use. I felt like I was going crazy, caught in a whirlwind of confusion and uncertainty. I needed to figure out what was going on, but I didn't know where to start.

I trudged up the stairs, my footsteps echoing in the silence. I reached the landing and turned down the hall towards my study. I pushed open the door and stepped inside. I closed the door behind me, letting out a sigh of relief. The study was my sanctuary, a place where I could escape from the world and focus on my work. I loved the cozy atmosphere, the bookshelves lining the walls, and the big, comfortable chair where I could sit and read or write. But today, something felt different.

I sat down in my chair, but I couldn't relax. I felt restless and agitated. I realized that I was still thinking about Kayla, trying to understand what was happening. I couldn't get her out of my head. I decided to try and put it out of my mind, at least for a little while. I turned my attention to my work, trying to focus on the task at hand. But no matter how hard I tried, my thoughts kept drifting back to Kayla.

I tried to read the words in front of me, but they were just a jumble of letters. I couldn't focus. I felt like I was trapped, unable to move forward. I gave up, closing the book with a sigh. I sat back in my chair, feeling frustrated and restless. I needed to get some air, to clear my head. I decided to go for a walk, hoping the fresh air would help me think more clearly.

As I stepped outside, the air felt cool and refreshing. I took a deep breath, inhaling the crisp autumn air. But the fresh air couldn't clear my head. My thoughts were still swirling, a storm of confusion and concern. I walked down the street, trying to calm my mind. But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't stop thinking about Kayla. I felt anxious and unsettled, like something was wrong but I couldn't put my finger on it.

I walked faster, trying to get my heart rate up and my mind clear. I walked around the block, my feet pounding the pavement. But still, my mind was a whirlwind of thoughts and questions. I wondered if Kayla was sick or in trouble, I was so sure that Brad told her something and she doesn't want to tell me, I knew that she was bothered and I know she doesn't trust me anymore.

I tried to rationalize my worries, telling myself that she was probably just tired or stressed, more over, this is new to her. But I couldn't shake the feeling that something was really wrong

I walked back to my house, my feet aching from the long walk. I was exhausted, both physically and emotionally. I sat down on the front steps, my head in my hands. I closed my eyes, trying to focus on my breathing. But it was no use. My mind was racing, my heart pounding. I felt overwhelmed and helpless. I wondered if I should try to talk to Kayla, to see if she would tell me what was going on.

As I walked, I thought about Kayla. I remembered the previous night, when I had tried to talk to her. But she had refused to listen to me, or even look at me. She had seemed angry and distant, and I didn't know what to do. Now, it was the next morning, and I was feeling anxious and frustrated. I needed to talk to her, to figure out what was going on. But as I approached the kitchen, I felt a sense of dread. What would I say to her? How would I get her to listen to me

I turned away from the kitchen and headed towards the front door. I walked through the foyer and down the hall to the staircase. I took the stairs two at a time, my mind still whirling with thoughts of Kayla. But I tried to push them aside, focusing instead on my work. I entered my study, a large, well-appointed room. I sat down at my desk, taking a deep breath. Then, I began to review my to-do list

I started by looking over the financial reports for the park. I needed to make sure that everything was on track, that the park was running smoothly. As I reviewed the reports, I saw that everything was in order. But I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that was still lingering in the back of my mind. I tried to focus on my work, but my thoughts kept drifting back to Kayla. What could I do to make things right?
