Chapter 214 Chapter 214
Chapter 214 Chapter 214
CHIARA: “Umm, I believe I was the person who was supposed to be taken for their breeding program.” I answered. And that’s when Nate started to get unruly. “Shut the fuck up, you filthy whore! You don’t know what the hell you’re talking about. There was no breeding program. Your Luna said you were a menace to your Pack and she wanted you gone. My Alpha was nice enough to offer our pack so that you wouldn’t be made a rogue, bitch!” Nate roared out. The twins answered back with growls of their own. But before the situation got too out of hand, the king used his royal aura to silence everybody. “SILENCE, I WILL NOT HAVE A FIGHT IN THIS COURT!” The king roars. We all drop to our knees and bare our necks to him. “Now, Chiara, please continue.” The king said. “I was there to finally make sure that Luna Louise’s plans for me were done and over. And I can live my life without having to keep looking over my shoulder.” I said. “What happened to you on the day in question?” Geraldine asked the next question. “I was grabbed and held at knifepoint by the defendant. Nate.” I answered. And that is when Nash stepped forward to show the council members the pictures of my neck. Again, Nate started to spout off. “I do not recognize this court’s authority over me! I demand to be released! You are not my sovereign! I answer only to my Alpha!” he shouted. And he lunged at me. But before he could get to me, the twins were there. I am surprised that they didn’t shift and destroy Nate right then. But they didn’t. And Nate never got to touch me. “ENOUGH! Guards, take him back to his cell!” the king called out to his guards. My nerves were frayed after that. But I finished answering all their questions. But I just wanted my mates. I needed them to help soothe me. I needed them to just hold me. To get me past the high emotions of reliving that day, and the threat of Nate. The king called an end to the trials for that day. I was relieved. And I was hoping that I wouldn’t have to be back for the next day’s proceedings. But only time will tell on that point. I let the twins wrap me in their arms and their scent. It helped get me back upstairs, where I basically collapsed.
KING: “Josh, I need to see you.” I linked my beta. I only had to wait a few minutes. There was a knock on my office door. “Enter.” I called out. “You wanted to see me majesty?” He asked as he entered my office. “Yes, J. What, if any, hard proof do we have that they were actually running a breeding program?” I asked him. “Emmery’s men were very through going through the senior Alpha’s office. We have all the records he kept. He basically ran it like an actual breeding farm.” He told me. “Do the others have copies of those records?” I asked. “Yes, Tom, they do.” He answered. “Good, I’d hate to have to put that poor girl through that to come up empty.” I said. “Agreed. Not to mention the twins. By the way, have you thought about what they asked?” Josh asked me. “Not completely, but I am willing to let them tear Nate apart. Especially after what he pulled today.” I said. “You’d think he’d have learned not to cross them. He was in the hospital for a day and a half after they shredded him the last time.” Josh says. “Yes, well, some people never learn. I just wish there was some way we could save his wolf.” I said. “Don’t jump to conclusions, Tom; his wolf could be just as bad.” J said. “Yeah, maybe.” I poured him and me a drink of whiskey. Not that it would do anything to us, unless we added a slight amount of wolfsbane to the mix. But I couldn’t take the chance. I needed a clear head. “But thank the goddess that we are close to being done with all this mess.” I said as I took a sip of my drink. “Indeed.” Josh answered, raising his glass to me and nodding.
DERRIC: I was proud of both the twins and Chiara. They kept their cool in a very high emotional situation today. It shows that they learned from just a couple months ago. We are getting close to being done here. And I am grateful for that. We are going on for almost a full week, for these trials. Just the two ranked wolves left. And then the executions. I know the twins want their pound of flesh for what Black Willow pulled, but I don’t think that letting them be the executioner for the ranked wolves would be a good thing, it’s on thing when you have to kill someone in defense of the Pack, but it’s totally different to just kill someone out right like that. It changes you fundamentally inside. Letting them deal with Nate on the other hand, I can see that. He laid hands on their mate. It’s ingrained in all of us to protect our mates. So yes, I could see that, but not the other two. I need to try to speak to the king about that. I call Nash. \[“Hello Derric.”\] \[“Hello Nash, can you get a message to the king for me?”\] \[“Depends on what it is.”\] \[“I know the twins want to play executioner for the ranked wolves of Black Willow, I don’t think that would be a good idea, let them have their pound of flesh on Nate, for what he did to Chiara, but I don’t think it would be good for them to play executioner for the others. I don’t want them to feel that responsibility.”\] \[“I understand. I will talk to his majesty and let him know what you just told me.”\] \[“Thank you Nash. That’s all I can ask for.”\] \[“Welcome.”\] I hung up, and get myself ready for dinner.
NASH: After I hung up with Derric I make my way to the king’s quarters, and knock. “Who is it?” “It’s Nash your majesty, I’m sorry to disturb you, but I need to speak to you.” I said. “Enter.” He calls out. I open the door and see Joshua sitting there with a drink in his hand. “Nash.” Josh greets me. “Josh.” I nod at him. “What can I do for you Nash?” the king asked. “Do you want me to leave?” Josh asked as well. “No, stay. I think you should hear this as well.” I say. “Alpha Derric just called me. He doesn’t think that letting the twins play executioner for the ranked wolves would be a good idea, he doesn’t want them to have that responsibility. Give them Nate. That should appease them and their wolves. And he would deserve it after what he pulled. But not the ranked wolves.” I told the king what Deric said. “Funny that you should bring that whole mess up, we were just discussing it as well.” The king said. I nod.
