EMMERY: “I will have the kitchen staff cook extra to accommodate your people.” He said. “No need, they can go into town and get something. It is not our wish to be a burden on your resources.” I said. “Let's pick this back up in an hour or two?” I suggested. “Of course.” He agreed. We all got up and walked back down to the vehicles. “We are going for lunch. And we will return.” I announced as we reached the front entrance. “I would appreciate that nobody leaves!” I used the power of my council voice to make sure nobody left the pack while we were at lunch. It took us about half an hour to get to the town, where we found a diner where we could all get something to eat and converse in semi-privacy. Once we were seated and we had given our orders, I wanted to know what was going on. “Ok, spill it, what the hell is going on?” I said. “Sorry, sir, I believe it’s on me.” Cory spoke up. “Explain.” I said. “I recognized a guard from the attack on Pine Hill. And then my cousin is being held against her will.” He said. “What’s your cousin’s name?” I asked. “Nissa Wells.” Cory answered. “Do you know if she is mated?” I asked. “She hadn’t found her mate at the time of the attack. But I don’t know about now, or  if they may have forced her.” Cory answered again. I nodded. “Is there anything else that I need to know?” I asked the group at large. Nobody said anything. “Ok, is there anything that anybody noticed that was out of the ordinary, or suspicious?” I asked again. “Alpha Jeremy seems to be going back and forth with his wolf a lot.” Chiara said. Hmm, I missed that, maybe because I was focused on Nate a good part of the time. “Ok, that could explain the note that Nash got.” I said. “What note?” Derric asked. I pulled it out of my pocket and read it out loud to the group. But that means we will have to liberate the innocent pack members from those who are oppressing them, and we will need the Alpha’s help to make sure that we eradicate all the guilty parties.” I said. “And for that, we are going to need backup, and a lot of it.” I said. I pulled out my phone and sent a call to the king. I filled him in on the progress that we made and the rest of the information that we collected, and what the sources for that information were.  \[“I will make a few calls and get you the backup that you will need.”\] The king said. \[“Thank you, my king.”\] I answered. \[“But Emmery, I want those who are in charge to be brought before me.”\] The king said. \[“I will do my best. My king.”\] I tell him, and he hangs up. I pass along the king's instructions to the rest of the group. “Ok, so the king wants the head delta, and the two that we have in our dungeon, but we need to figure out who else we need to keep alive during this little coo. Along with keeping ourselves alive.” Derric said. “We will have that information before we make a move.” I tell him. “Exactly how are we going to get that information?” Derric asked. “I will pass the Alpha a note when we get back on what is needed from him, and what signs he can use to get us what we need.” I tell the group. “Ok. That takes care of one thing. What about the backup?” Derric asked again. “The king will be sending us backup from close packs.” I tell him. He nods.

CHIARA: I was not expecting that this would turn into an all-out confrontation today. I was thinking that we would get the information that the king needed. And then he would send his people in to deal with the perpetrators. But I guess if there is going to be a fight, I'm going to have to fight. But that’s ok, because what better way to make these creeps understand that they can’t take people against their will and force them into being a breeder. Assholes. By the time we get back to Black Willow, we have gained about 6 more vehicles full of men ready to do the king’s bidding. We pulled up to the gate, and Emmery told the guard on duty that every vehicle was to be let in. Then, once we were back at the Pack house, Emmery and Nash got out and waited for the Alpha to come out. When he did, his eyes got big. But he played it off well. I was close enough to hear his so-called exasperation. “Council member Emmery, what is the meaning of this. You come back here with double the men than when you left. Are we to take this as an invasion?” “No, young Alpha, come walk with us. show us your Pack.” Emmery said to him. I watched as Jeremy approached Emmery. Emmery had his hand held out to Jeremy. I knew there was a message for the Alpha in Emmery’s hand. So, maybe we will get out of this whole thing without any bloodshed. That would be the best for all concerned. I watched as Alpha Jeremy walked up to Emmery and shook his hand. The passing of the note. I watched as Emmery closed his hand over Jeremy’s with a slight shake of his head. As if to say not now, or not here. Either way, Jeremy got the hint and put his hand in his pocket. And took us on a tour of the Pack. When we were in an area where there were fewer prying eyes, Emmery nodded to Jeremy. I saw him take out the napkin that Emmery had given him when the tour started. He read what was written there, then blew his nose on the napkin and put it back in his pocket for the time being. Then, as we progressed with the tour, Jeremy was making little movements with his hands and fingers. I saw that Emmery would look at one of his people when Jeremy did that. But we kept walking. And by the time we got back to the Packhouse, it seemed like there were fewer vehicles there. “Now, how about we go back and finish our conversation from earlier?” I heard Emmery say. “Of course, sir.” Jeremy answered. And we all went back inside and up to the Alpha’s office, where again Nate was waiting. I saw Jeremy make another gesture with his hand, and Emmery nodded in response. Then just as I was going to sit down, I was grabbed from behind. I felt a blade pressed to my throat. Shit! Only I didn’t panic. I waited. The twins were on their feet in a heartbeat. Axel and Steel were at the surface, ready to do some major damage. I pressed myself back into the arms that held me. I dropped my right hand. And swung it hard backwards into Nate’s groin.
