Chapter 204 Chapter 204

Chapter 204 Chapter 204
CHIARA: I didn’t mind Alpha Jeremy; he seemed to be a genuinely decent guy. I couldn’t stand Nate though. Even Thena didn’t like him. And I thought it was odd that he stayed for the meeting, like he was important to it or something. Then, just as Emmery was getting into the questions, Randy linked me. “Luna, Cory says that he recognized one of the guards from the massacre of his home pack.” “Thank you, Randy. Please stay with him and don’t let him go off the deep end.” I sent back to him, then I let the twins know what Randy had passed on to me. I saw that Caiden texted Nash the info that I had passed on. So, I guess we know that they were behind the slaughter of my home Pack. I wonder how many people might be here from home, if they spared anybody, to take for their breeding program.

CORY: I felt like I was being watched. I tried to look around, but didn’t find anyone who was openly staring or watching me, but the feeling persisted. So, I made my way to the side of the Pack house, still in sight of everyone that we came with, but also to put some space between them and me, just in case someone did want to contact me. I stood by the corner. Semi in the shadows, and waited. I heard a soft voice coming from farther in the shadows. “Oh, goddess, Cory, is that really you?” I heard the voice ask in a whisper. “Yes, I’m Cory.” I whispered back. “Thank the goddess you survived. Did anyone else get out?” the voice asked. And the more I listened to it, the more it sounded familiar to me. “Nissa, is that you?” I asked. “Yes. But shh if they catch me, I will be beaten.” She whispers. “ Yes, some others did make it out. And not going to happen. The council is here.” I whisper back to her. “But go now, I will make sure that they know what is going on here.” I tell her. I can feel her move away just as a guard passes me and gives me the stink eye. “What are you doing over here?” the guard asked. “Calling my mate. I don’t need an audience when I am talking to her.” I said, pretending to put my phone away. I think he bought the ruse. I then walked back to the SUV, where the others were standing. I linked Randy again. “My cousin Nissa is here. I think she is being abused in some way because she just told me that if she were caught talking to me, they would beat her.” I sent him and then closed the link. And watched as his eyes glazed over. So, I knew that he was again passing on my information.

CHIARA: I got Randy’s link, and I passed it on to the twins. This time, it was Jayden who texted Nash. The information. “Excuse me, Emmery, but the king has just contacted me. I will have to step out for a minute to confer with his majesty.” Nash said. Standing up to step out of the office. “Yes, of course. We can’t keep the king waiting.” Emmery said. Nash stepped out of the office, and I could see that Nate was starting to sweat a little. And his eyes glazed over. I heard Alpha Jeremy saying. “No offence, council member Emmery, but I am unsure why I am being asked these questions. Most of the things you are asking about are my father's enterprises and businesses, and I have no idea about this so-called breeding program that was mentioned. I know that the king has outlawed forced breeding.” Jeremy said. (“There's something wrong.”) Thena said in my head. (“What do you mean?”) I asked her. (“His wolf is agitated.”) (“How do you know?”) I asked her. (“His eyes. He is either fighting his wolf, or they are talking a lot.”) She tells me. I watched him closely after she said that to me. And I did indeed see the swirling between wolf and human. And if I saw it, I’m sure Emmery had to see it as well.

NASH: I left the office and walked to the end of the hall. There was a side table there with flowers set on it. And where I could keep an eye on the hallway, and my back was against a window. I sent a message to the King to let him know the information I got from Cory relayed through Chiara and the twins. I don’t think the current Alpha is behind any of the problems surrounding Black Willow, but we do have to make sure. As I was waiting for a response from the king, an omega approached me with a new, unopened bottle of water and a napkin. “From the Alpha.” She said, keeping her head down. “Thank you.” I said as I took the water from her. As soon as the water was in my hands, she left. I set my phone down on the table and opened the water. Then the napkin caught my eye; there was something written on it. {We need help. The Delta and several others are holding the pack hostage.} I quickly slipped the napkin in my pocket. My phone rang. It was the King. \[“My king.”\] \[“Nash, explain.”\] \[“What I sent came from a Silver Aspen warrior, whose home Pack was Pine Hill. He recognized a warrior from Black Willow as one of the invaders who destroyed his home. And I guess his cousin is being held here. According to him.”\] I told the king. \[“What about the young Alpha? Any indication he is part of it all?”\] \[“ I don’t believe so, but Emmery is still drilling him.”\] I told him. \[“Bring those who are guilty of the massacre here, and anyone guilty of the forced breeding as well. I will deal with them personally.”\] He said and hung up. I put my phone away, picked up my water, and headed back to the office. When I walked in, I  went straight to Emmery and discreetly dropped the napkin in his lap. “The King says to carry on until we are 100 % satisfied that the issue is put to rest.” I said.  Then retook my seat. “Understood.” Emmery answered back. He started back in with the questioning of the young Alpha. I caught Emmery looking down at his lap ever so often. I knew that I needed to get him the other information that I had received. But short of a link or a text, it was going to be hard to do under such a watchful eye as what Nate is doing.

EMMERY: I got Nash’s note. I wanted to make a move immediately, but knew that would be the wrong thing to do. So, I continued the questioning. Until I could formulate some kind of plan. We stayed in the office until it was close to lunch. “I think we need to take a break. And have some lunch.” I said. “We need to feed our people as well.” I told Alpha Jeremy.
