Chapter 206: Chapter 206

CHIARA: As he started to go down, I used my left hand to grab his wrist, and I twisted it away from my throat. Causing him to drop the knife. Once I was free from him, the twins were all over him. They shredded him like he was a piece of paper going through a paper shredder. It took all three of the elders using their alpha voices to get the two of them to finally stop. I looked across at Alpha Jeremy, and he was pale. I could feel the fear rolling off of him in waves. “Are you ok?” I asked him. He just looked at me like I had two heads or something. “They are crazy.” He whispered to me. “No, they are my mates.” I said to him. “Oh shit!” He looked at me. “You’re the one that father said he was supposed to get.” He said. “I am so sorry.” He said. “That’s not on you, unless you were part of it.” I said. He was shaking his head no vehemently. “That’s good to know.” I said. And then the twins were at my side, wrapping their arms around me, taking in my scent. Caiden licked the scratch on my neck, closing the wound that the blade made. “I’m ok, guys.” I said to them. “NO!” Both Axel and Steel were at the surface. I wrapped my arms around both of them. Just holding them, letting them calm down.

EMMERY: I underestimated the twins severely. I won’t be making that mistake again. Once we finally got the twins off Nate, he was barely hanging on. “Get him to the Pack healer, but don’t let him out of your sight.” I told my guards. “Yes, sir.” They answered me. I looked at Derric. “That was intense.” “She is their mate. You would do the same if it were yours. And so would Nash.” He answered. “Yeah, I suppose you're right. But now we need to pray we don’t lose him; the king wants him and all the rest of them alive and brought back to the royal pack for a public trial and execution.” I said. Then I turned my attention back to Jeremy. “Now that that threat has been neutralized, let’s get down to the real business.” I said to him. “Yes, sir.” He answered. And with Nate gone, we concluded everything in an hour. “So, now you need to announce to the Pack that the senior regime is either dead or going to the royal Pack for their punishment. And you will have to let those people go who your father and his unit forced to be here.” I said. And he nodded. “Are you stable? Do you have the resources that you need?” I asked him. “Yes, my unit and I have been secretly investing in things that will allow us to grow and be secure in the growth. We were just waiting for the opportunity to implement those changes that we wanted to make. I know my father is dead. I felt the bond snap. In a way, I’m kind of glad he was a piece of shit.” Jeremy said. I nodded. “Well, if you do need anything, reach out. The king is always happy to help.” I told him. “I will keep that in mind sir.” He said. “We may be back to make sure that we got everybody that the king wanted.” I tell him. “Who does the king want?” he asked. “Anyone involved in the massacre of Pine Hill, and everyone involved in the forced breeding issue.” I tell him. “I believe that you have everybody associated with the forced breeding, but as far as the massacre, I have no idea. That happened when I was very small; I have no memory of it.” He said. “Well, if you should hear of any talk of it, let us know.” I said, shook his hand, and we headed to the front of the Packhouse. When we got out to the vehicles, I linked my men who were with Nate. “How is he? Can he travel?” I asked them. “Doc says not for a couple of days.” Came the reply. “Ok, take shifts. I will leave a couple more men here, two on at all times, and he gets escorted everywhere. He is never to be left alone.” I tell them. “Yes, sir.” Came the reply. Then we all got into our vehicles and headed back to Silver Aspen Pack.

CORY: I knew we were getting ready to leave. So, I took a chance. “Alpha? Can we bring my cousin back with us?” I asked him. “I will speak with their alpha.” He said. “Yes, sir.” I answered him and waited.

DERRIC: As we were loading up, I got the link. I turned to Alpha Jeremy. “One of my guards saw his cousin here. She was from the time of the Pine Hill massacre. He would like to bring her with us.” I said to him. “Of course, I do not wish to hold anybody against their wishes. Who is she? I will link her and have her come up to the house.” He said. “Her name is Nissa Wells.” I told him. And watched his eyes glaze over. Within 5 minutes, a pale blond woman in her early 30s approached the front of the house. “You wanted to see me, alpha?” she asked him, keeping her head down. “Nissa, it’s ok, I’m not my father, you can look at me. My father is dead. But yes, one of Alpha Derric’s men claims you are his cousin.”  The woman nodded. “Yes, sir, Cory is my cousin on my father’s side.” She answered. “Would you like to leave with them?” Jeremy asked her. “Answer honestly, nobody is going to punish you for wanting to leave.” He told her. “Yes, sir, I would like to leave.” She answered him. “Go ahead, we will ship your thing to you.” He told her. She nodded and walked to the vehicle where Cory stood waiting. “Thank you. I will be in touch as to where to send her things.” I said to him. He nodded to me, then we loaded up and headed out.

CAIDEN: Well, I guess the question of why Cory was with us got answered. Axel still wanted blood from Nate. He dared to touch our mate. Threaten her even. That wasn’t ok by him, and he wanted blood for it. I didn’t blame him; I did, too. The asshole. I know the king wants him alive, but he hurt our mate. He held a knife to her throat. I am so proud of Chi, I could cry right now. She didn’t panic. She used her training. But that still doesn’t excuse the fact that he put his hands on her. I have half a mind to call the king myself and tell him that he is going to be down one prisoner. But I know that he needs to go stand trial for what he’s done. His pulling a knife on Chi is just one more crime he will have to answer for when they do try him. He’s just lucky that the council has the kind of power and authority they do, or he’d be dead right now instead of in the hospital.
