Aziz

Two months had passed since that fight in the mall and Mica was stronger now. The venom I had left in her body just in case she faced another vampire had started to work on her as well. I had not told her about that yet and I’m afraid that she will get mad at me if she finds out about it, but I had no choice. It was my way of protecting her. I would rather let her get mad at me than put her life at risk. I just made sure that she had an inner power that could help her besides the strength that she acquired during her training.

Asking her to the construction company was something I didn’t want to do, but I needed someone to look after it so I could prepare for the war that the vampire king was waging. Carter was with her, so I knew that she would be fine. Another thing is, I have already asked some of the warriors to look after them every time that she and my gamma leave the pack. The security system in the construction company is also the best, just like what we have in the pack territory. My next project will be the security system of our malls, so what has happened before will not happen again.

Now she was telling me about letting a professional handle the company and I agree with her. Though just like before, it was hard to trust someone. If it was one of my scholars and omegas, I think it would be fine and I liked the idea that she would still visit the company at least once a week. I should have thought about that before.

“When are Reeves and Athena going to come back?” Mica asked,

“They called me and said that they needed more time. But everything was going well and the vampire sightings in the packs were handled well.” I replied,

“How is the lunar Pack?” Hera asked. I know that she wanted to know how her mate was.

“They are fine. As I’ve already said, they were the ones who handled the vampires on sight. Their warriors are very eager to learn, that's why Reeves never had a hard time training them.” I answered and looked at Lexis, who was still quiet. “Are you not going to ask me as well?”

“No, I don’t care about their pack,” she replied, and Hera rolled her eyes at her since she already knew that what our sibling said was not true. “I told you not to read my mind!” she exclaimed at Hera and we all laughed. No matter how much we tell her not to do that, she will still do it. That’s why I decided to be careful with whatever I was thinking in fear that she would find something she shouldn’t from me. I looked at Mica who was still laughing and remembered what Hera had told me.

“Hera, can you still read this woman’s thoughts?” I asked as I held my mate’s hand.

“Why are you calling her woman? Why not call her by her name?” Lexis complained,

“I already answered that and I have no intention of repeating that.” I answered, “Woman, do you have a problem with me calling you that way?” I asked and she shook her head, smiling. Because of that, I was happy so I kissed her.

“Come on you two, stop that!” Lexis exclaimed.

“Wait, what about Hera reading my thoughts?” she asked,

“I can’t read your thoughts anymore,” Hera told her and she looked shocked. She had no idea, so, I looked at Hera.

“How did it happen?” she asked,

“I don’t know either, so even if I want to tell you something or communicate with you, I just can’t.” My sister replied,

“Is there something wrong with you, or is there something wrong with me?” Mica asked, worriedly.

“Definitely nothing wrong with you two,” I told her. I didn't want her to think that she had started to become abnormal. Well, it’s not like we are. But she was not used to that kind of thing and even if she already saw a lot in the pack, she would still need time to make all the information she learned sink in.

“Then why can’t she read my thoughts anymore? Does that mean that I can’t talk to her in our minds as well?”

“I don’t know, why don’t you try talking to me now?” Hera asked and then my mate looked at her. Then Hera laughed, which confused me and Lexis.

“What is it?” Lexis asked,

“She said that Aziz was still the freak alpha she knew,” Hera replied, so I looked at Mica who was also laughing.

“You’re calling me a freak?” I asked her and she nodded. “You’ll see the freak in me later in our bedroom,” I added,

“I can’t wait,” she replied, still smiling.

“So it was clear that you could still communicate with me, but I can’t.”

“Maybe if she knew that you were going to talk, you would be able to.” Lexis comments.

“I guess so,” Hera agreed.

“Why did it suddenly happen?” My mate asked and my two siblings looked at me, worriedly.

“I think I better go,” Lexis said and got up, followed by Hera. So, the time for me to tell her about what I did has come. Though I was feeling worried, I know that this is inevitable. She will eventually find out about it and it was best for me to tell her about it. With that thought, I prepared myself before I took her hand and started to talk.

“I hope you understand me, woman. I know that you hated my kind but it was the only thing that I could think of to add to your protection. I can’t let anything happen to you.” I said, and she was just looking at me. Not talking at all. Never once did she interrupt me and let me talk freely. But her silence scares me. I need to know her reaction or I can’t relax.

“So what now, am I a vampire or something?” she asked, all of a sudden. Her face was stoic, so I was even more scared to answer.

“Sort of,” I replied, and her eyes widened.

“What do you mean, sort of?” she asked and I could see that she was angry. “You did something to me without my permission and you’re telling me, sort of? Not exactly a vampire, but I am sort of a vampire?”

“Woman, it’s just your protection. It wasn’t enough for you to crave for blood. It was only enough for you to be immune to vampire bites.” I explained,

“I don’t know, I think I will have to be alone for a while,” she said and got up.

“Mica,” I called her. She didn’t look at me but I sighed in relief when she replied,

“I’ll be in our bedroom. I am not going anywhere to worry you.” and left my office. I believed her, so I just stayed and gave her the time that she wanted.
