Chapter 60
Mica
Why did he just tell me about it now? I hate that there's a vampire in me. Even if he said that it was for my protection, he should have told me about it first. He should have asked for my permission. He knew how much I hated that kind as well as the wolves, but because he is my mate, I decided to set that aside. But it doesn’t mean that I have already forgotten what their kind did to my family. I love Aziz and I like what I am now. The relationship that we have, everything that’s happening, I love them all.
So was it because of the venom he put in me was why I felt different? I thought it was all because of the training I did with Carter that I noticed some changes in me. I thought I was getting faster since our gamma had taught me about agility. And the other thing is my nose. I can smell them already. I never experienced that before. I could tell who was about to come without actually seeing them since I already knew their scents. Wait, is that because of the vampire? Or the markings? I don’t know.
I left his office and just as I told him, I went to our bedroom. I know that I shouldn’t act hastily and go out. I just stayed and thought about what he had told me. It was a relief that I didn't need to worry about suffering that vampire’s bite just like before. It was really painful and I could see how that vampire killed many people. If you ask me, I never wanted that to happen ever again.
Then, Hera, said she couldn’t read my mind anymore. I don’t know if it was a good thing or not. But deep inside, I felt relief that I could hide something from her. It’s not like before that she knew what I was thinking and then I would get worried that she would tell it to Aziz. Though she told me that she never told people about what she had found out, I’m sure that there will come a time when she will tell everyone what needs to be told.
What am I going to do? Will I just let it slide? I listened to Aziz eagerly because I wanted to understand him. I didn’t want to get mad just like that without hearing anything. We are in a relationship right now. We are a couple and a mated one. It was only natural that I should listen to him first. Judging by the way I think, it was obvious that I was thinking like Luna.
Now I am thinking about whether my actions will benefit the pack or not. “Arghhh…” Why do I have to read those books? If I had not, I wouldn’t be able to act like that. Over-thinking things!” I shouted. I must have been crazy.
Five hours, a very long five hours that I keep myself alone in our bedroom and I only end up to a conclusion. And that is, to understand Aziz. I realized I am a part of them now. There was no going back. I am a Luna, their Luna.
With this thought, I got up and went to the door and opened it. But before I could do that, I already smelled my mate. “I’m really sorry, woman,” he said as soon as I opened it. He looks sad and regretful and I hate seeing him like that. What does this mate bond do for me?
“Get in,” I told him, and I went back to our bed and sat down. There was nothing I could do about this anymore, my heart wanted to understand and forgive him. He followed and sat beside me,
“I’m really sorry about what I did. I promise that it will never happen again. If there is something that I will do in the future with you or even with anything, I will make sure to let you know beforehand.” He said continuously. And I sighed, how can I not forgive him?
“Make sure that you will, because the next time, I will make sure to make you suffer for a long time,” I replied and then he nodded and hugged me.
“I promise, woman,” he said. I could feel his sincerity, so I smiled and hugged him back. I didn’t want us to argue and fight, it’s not good for both of us and for the pack. “Oh, I want you to know that Hera being unable to read your thoughts was because of the venom. Some vampires have that ability,” he informed me and I nodded.
“So it was because of the venom that I suddenly felt faster than before?”
“You do?” he asked.
“I started to feel it a week after I started training with Carter. I thought it was because of the intense training that I had been through that made my body feel lighter so I was able to speed up my moves.”
“Did your sense of smell enhance as well?”
“Yes, I know everyone even without seeing them.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I told you!” I exclaimed,
“That was the first time. You said it was faint.”
“Well, I thought that you'd know that it would improve as the days went on.”
“Of course, I know. But you could have at least told me,” he said, pouting, and he is so cute so I couldn’t help but smile.
“I’ll tell you if something new happens to me,” I said and he nodded. “Before I forgot, I had already asked someone to look after the construction company and will be in training under me, of course. I still need to go to the company though.” I said,
“Don’t forget to bring Carter with you,”
“Yes, I know.” I replied, “Even the warriors that had been looking after us need to come too, right?” he laughed and nodded.
“I can’t hide anything from you from now on.”
“As long as you know.”
The days went on and I went to the construction company only to train my replacement, Cecilia. She is good at management and is one of the omegas and one of the Aziz scholars as well. She’s very smart and only needs minimal supervision.
It was my last day of training with Cecilia when an unexpected person came. “Hello my dear step-daughter,”
