Chapter 52

The day went by uneventfully after that, that’s is If you didn’t count my superior bugging me each chance she got. I was very well on the way to use the mop stick to beat the shit out of her.

“Hey, are you taking the bus?” the girl from earlier Felicia? Patricia? I felt bad for not remembering her name but it just wasn’t sticking.

“Yeah sure.” I smiled at her. At my old job, only Mila would talk to me. I felt a distant ache remembering her. A lot had been going on in my life and I couldn’t keep in contact with her.

A little side of me also felt sad that she never reached out to me after that. Didn’t she care enough? Was she just talking to me then because she felt obliged to do it?

The thoughts kept circling round my head not letting me think right.

“Okay, I’ll go with let me just get my bag”

Leticia/felicia said. I nodded.

it was a message from Elias.

I felt that warm tingling feeling inside the pits of my stomach. He cared, I chucked down the emotion that was trying to spring up.

I replied with a smirking emoji.

I snorted as I read the message.

“Hey, let’s go” felicia/Patricia said.

“nmm” I nodded. I walked behind her, i replied him immediately, before putting my phone in the bag so it doesn’t get lost.

“so, how do you like working here?” she looked really shy like it took her a great deal to have a conversation.

“so far, it’s good. If only that old w8tch gets off my back.” I rolled my eyes. My body was sore from the amount of work that woman made me do today.

“give her time, she’ll get used to you and shockingly be as nice “

I snorted. “you know, I highly doubt that. I think she would rather bend me over than let me leave

It was silent for a while we were walking to the bus stop at this point and I didn’t want to say anymore, but it was just awkward . I think she felt it to because she quickly went to ask another question. “You know normally, people do what she wants to avoid any more nagging or just to generally suck up to her, I was kind of surprised when I saw that you weren’t removing your sleeves just like she requested. It was super cool”

I clung to the bad that was strapped on my shoulder. It was a defence mechanism “why would I pull it off? Just because she wanted something doesn’t mean I should do it as long as it’s not work related, besides, i don’t think there is any rule that says I must strictly wear the uniform, what if I was cold.”

I made the excuse, ready to leave. I prayed to whoever out there that a bus was to come so that I could stop having this conversation.

“it wasn’t even cold today” she snickered. She didn’t say it in a bad way as to show that she was siding the witch, but she made me feel edgy because I definitely didn’t want to be interrogated.

“Felicia please, could you get off my back? You’re acting like that woman !” i snapped at her.

Finally! I sighed when I saw the bus and immediately entered. It definitely would have been awkward if I had to stand beside her after snapping that way.

I took my spot close to the window.

I always loved the fresh air on my skin. It kind of reminded me of the fact that I was free now. I no longer needed to beg my mum to let me out of the house, I no longer needed to stay cooped up in the house, feeling suffocated.

The feeling was shirt lived when she came to sit beside me “I’m going the same way” she said, she looked like she was walking on thin ice, not wanting to upset Me. I nodded my head. This was the last bus for the night going to our direction and the bus was full with no where else to sit down

After a while sighed and looked at her “look, I’m sorry for how I acted outside. I just, I’m most comfortable with my sleeves , they are a part of me and I wouldn’t be comfortable without them” she nodded, understanding where I was coming from.

There was nothing more to say but at least she sister seem that much edgy around me anymore.

“It’s Patricia” she said out of the blue I looked at her not understanding.

“Sorry?”

‘My name, its not Leticia, its Patricia.” I felt embarrassed. 8f someone had gotten my name wrong I definitely would not have liked it.

“Oh, sorry, I just.... I thought..” I sighed there was no explanation why I was a bad person.

“It’s okay, I get that I can be a lot” she smiled at me. It amused me how she could not have had a bad bone in her. “This is my stop, good night Allison”

I watched her leave last, I felt even worse when she called me by my name to greet me good night.

I definitely had to be a nicer person to her. I massaged my head letting out another sigh.

My stop finally came around and it was a good thing the house wasn’t far from the bus stop. There was no way I could have walked that far inside.

I was about to drop dead from exhaustion

I walked to my front porch bringing out the key from my bag, or at least trying to. My hair seemed to find it the perfect Time to get in my face and the night’s gentle breeze wasn’t helping at all.

I pushed the hair out of my slight, blowing away the ones that had somehow gotten into my mouth.

“aha!” I cried in relief as I found the key just as I reached my door step.

I raised my head to freeze. Right there, on the door step was a guy in a wheel chair, one who I had been desperately trying to avoid.
