"ARIA'S POV"

Kane continued to talk and I enjoyed listening to him.

Derek never spoke too me with so much calmness as we were always either fighting or having an argument.

It was always war with Derek but Kane was different.

The way he spoke to me and the way he looked at me when he spoke to me was just amazing.

He always made sure to made eye contact with me as he talked and I completely loved it.

"Do you have any suggestions?" Kane asked, as he looked at him.

"You haven't said a word since I started talking about the case," He continued.

"What do you have in mind?" He asked.

"I think i have a plan," I said.

I had been thinking about what happened at the last hearing all night and I think I might have arrived at a plan.

"Okay," Kane said, eager to hear what I had to say.

"Spill," He added.

"We could also play the game," I said.

"Game," Kane repeated after ms, looking confused.

"I don't understand what you mean Aria," He continued.

"I meant we could also do what Derek and his lawyers are doing. We could use a bad situation against him to paint him as a bad father to Lily," I said.

"He used a situation with our daughter against me and I will do the same to him," I continued.

"I'm pretty sure this will work," I added.

"Okay, Tell me more," Derek said.

"I divorced Derek because he hardly had for Lily," I said.

"He would always miss our appointments with the doctor and but I particularly got tired the day the day he decided to miss one of the most crucial appointment," I continued.

"His excuse were always that he had work to do. With this situation I think the lawyer should be able to convince the judge that Derek values his job more than his own child," I added.

"That sounds really good Aria," Derek said, smiling.

"You are a genius. We can also emphasize on the fact that Aria needs special care and Derek would not be able to give her that," He continued.

"We can really make a great case out of this," He added.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yes," Kane replied excitedly.

"This is going to change the case around and I am sure it's going to turn things in your favor," He added.

I smiled as I heard Kane talk, I was starting to get excited.

I had completely lost hope but after what I had just heard, my hope was starting to get renewed.

"I'm going to get my daughter Kane," I said.

"Yes Aria," Kane replied, smiling.

"We are surely going to get her and we would let anything stop us," He added.

"But are you sure you want to do this Aria?" Kane asked, looking concerned.

"This is all his fault," I answered.

"I never wanted it to get to this but he started it but I'm going to finish it," I continued.

"Two can play the game," I added, looking determined more ever.

"Okay Aria," Kane said.

"We just need to talk to the lawyer so you can tell him what you just told me," He continued.

"I'm sure he is going to be pleased to hear what you have to say," He added.

Kane seemed really excited and I could tell he was really happy we had finally came up with a solution.

"I'm really sorry you went through all that alone with Derek. I can't believe he did that to you," Kane said.

"He doesn't deserve to get Lily," He added.

"It's fine," I replied.

"I'm over it now," I added.

Kane continued to console me but deep down, I couldn't stop thinking about Derek.

He humiliated me in court and i was about to do the same to him but I didn't understand why I felt pity for him.

He didn't deserve any sympathy from me.

He has hurt me so much and it was time I started to pay him back in his coin.

"I can't wait for all this to be over Kane," I said, looking at him.

"Just a few more weeks," He replied.

"We call all live happily with our daughter then," He added.

Kane has started to refer to Lily as our daughter.

This made me so much happier as I couldn't wait to start our own perfect little family.

We were going to be so happy and it was going to be completely different from what I had gone through in Derek's hands.

"I'm really sorry again about earlier Derek," I said.

"It's fine," Kane said, interrupting me.

"You don't have to be sorry," He continued.

"I completely understand your situation," He added.

I looked into Kane's eyes for some seconds before hugging him tightly.

It was unexpected and I am sure Kane was suprised but he wrapped his hands around me and pulled me in more tightly as he ran his fingers through my hair.

I had not gotten such a warm hug in so long as I closed my eyes and relaxed my nerves.

I felt completely safe with Kane and this was a feeling i was not used to with Derek.

Kane continued to run his fingers through my neck and hair and I just stood there, enjoying the long warm hug.

I didn't want the moment to end and I wished I could stay like that forever.

"Are you okay?" Kane asked, as he noticed I had been quiet.

"Yes," I said, in a low tone.

"I just want to stay and like this and not feel anything," I added.

Kane further tightened his hands around my waist as I smiled softly but our sweet moment was soon interrupted as I heard a knock on the door of the study room.

"What," I said, to myself in a low tone.

"Someone just had to ruin this moment," I thought to myself, before pulling away from Kane.
