"ARIA'S POV"

I stopped halfway as I walked down the stairs, as I sighed.

I knew I needed to pull myself together in order to talk to Kane.

"Go Aria," I said to myself, before walking downstairs.

I walked into the living room as i had expected Kane to be there waiting for me but he was nowhere to be found.

"Kane," I called out to him, looking around.

"Could he have left?" I asked myself, before walking back towards my room.

I then decided to ask Grace where he was as I made my way to her room.

"Grace?" I said, as her knocked on her door.

Grace immediately opened the door, as she looked at me suprisely.

"Aren't you supposed to be with him?" She asked.

"I checked everywhere for him but I did not see him," I answered.

"He is in your study room," Grace said.

"Okay," I said, looking confused.

"Did you tell you what he wanted?" I asked.

"He just told me he was going to be there waiting for you," Grace answered.

"Okay," I said, before walking away.

I trusted Kane but I couldn't help but think why he would be in my study room without me.

What was he looking for?

Kane had never touched any of my things without my presence and i deeply appreciated him for it.

I started to walk towards tne study room and I immediately opened the door as I got there.

"You are here?" Kane said, looking at me before dropping the file he was going through before I entered on the table.

Kane was not only in my study room, he was also going through my files.

"What are you doing Kane?" I asked.

"I went into the living room to look for you but you weren't there," I added.

"I thought you were going to be here so I came looking for you," Kane said, as he walked towards me smiling.

"I'm sorry if I offended you by entering into your study room," He said.

The custody case had drained me so much and I was starting to get paranoid easily.

"No..it's fine," I said.

"I was just suprised to see you in here," I added.

Kane was a perfect gentleman and i wished circumstances were different.

"I'm happy to see you," I said.

"I know," Kane replied, as he held my hands and looked at me lovingly.

"I know you are stressed out about everything that had been going on but trust me everything is going to be fine," He added, looking into my eyes.

Kane words deeply comforted me as I nodded my head as I heard him talk.

He always had a way with words and knew exactly how to make me feel better.

"I was waiting for you when I decided to take a look at some of the files," Kane said.

"It's fine," I replied, nodding my head.

"You do not have to explain anything," I added.

"How are you Aria?" Kane asked.

"I...," I answered stuttering, as I looked away from him.

I didn't know exactly what I was feeling.

Too much was happening at the same time.

"I'm good I guess," I mumbled.

"I know you are still shaken from what had happened at the courtroom but I need you to take it easy," Kane said.

"We just started this and you can't be shaken by what had happened," He continued.

"We will surely find a way to change the situation around with the lawyers," He added.

"Thank you Kane," I said, as I tried hard to fight back my tears.

"You are always welcome," He replied.

"You are going to be my wife and I'm going to be with you at every step of the journey," He continued.

"I will always be here for you Aria," He added.

Kane was just so good, too good that it all feels unreal sometimes.

He was the exact opposite of Derek and deep down I sometimes feared that it might all just be a dream.

"I'm sorry Kane," I said.

"I shouldn't have asked you to give me time alone," I continued.

Kane parted his lips as if he wanted to say something but i asked him not to.

"Please let me talk," I said.

"You have always been there for me and i shouldn't have shut you out like that," I continued.

"You are one of the most important person in my life right now and I'm really sorry for pushing you away when you were just trying to help," I added.

"It's fine Aria," Kane replied.

"You do not have to apologize to me, I completely understand what you were going through," He continued.

"I also understand that everything gets too much sometimes and you need your own space," He added.

I nodded as I listened attentively to Kane talk.

"Oh what a man he is," I thought to myself.

"We are getting married and i just want you to he happy to share all your good and bad moments with you," He added.

"Okay?" He said, as ran his big hands through my hair.

"Okay," I muttered, nodding my head in agreement.

"I came here for to check if there was anything that could help us with the next hearing," Kane said.

"I figured we needed to prepare something very strong to defend our case after what had happened the last time," He added.

I couldn't believe Kane had came all tne way here for that after I had asked him for some alone time.

He was still concerned about me.

"I just wanted to know how I could be of help," He added.

Kane continued to talk about all the ways he felt like we could increase my chances at winning and I just stood there smiling as I watched him talk.

He was so passionate about the case and he even talked about how he had carried out some researches.

"What a perfect gentleman," I thought to myself, staring at him.
