Chapter 117 Were You Trying to Remove My Guest?
"We agreed to meet Mr. Windsor in person. What more proof do you need? Are you saying we're trying to trick you?"
"Sorry, no proof, no entry!"
"I don't think it's about proof. You just look down on us and think we couldn't possibly know Mr. Windsor, right?"
Diana, always blunt, called out the security guard's snobbery.
The guard's face went pale. "Ma'am, please don't cause trouble here. If you keep this up, I'll have to ask you to leave."
Anne and Diana were stuck, while Sable and another woman walked towards them, noticing Anne.
"Sable, isn't that Dorian's girlfriend?"
The woman was Sable's friend, Ondine Morgan.
Among all those socialites who wanted to befriend Sable, Ondine was the best at sucking up to her.
"Let's go check it out."
Seeing Sable approach, the security guard immediately greeted her politely, "Miss Carter."
It seemed Sable was a regular here.
Diana cursed under her breath, thinking how unlucky they were to run into her.
Then she thought, maybe Sable could vouch for Anne. Her tone softened.
"Miss Carter, you're just in time. This security guard wants us to prove our identity. Could you vouch for us? Anne is Dorian's girlfriend and the future mistress of the Windsor family."
Ondine burst out laughing. The security guard, seeing they seemed to know each other, started sweating, wondering if he had really stopped the wrong people.
"What's so funny?" Diana asked, annoyed.
Ondine stifled her laughter. "Nothing, I just think you're dreaming if you think she could become the mistress of the Windsor family."
"Who are you calling a dreamer?"
"Whoever answers, I'm talking about them."
Diana was furious, feeling the urge to fight her. If they were in a bar, she would have done it.
But this was the Windsor Group, and she and Anne had important matters to attend to, so she swallowed her anger. "I won't argue with you. Sable, please vouch for Anne's identity."
"Do we know each other?" Sable rolled her eyes and walked away arrogantly with Ondine.
Diana was about to explode. "Anne, did you see that? She thinks she's so superior. No, I need to stop them and talk."
"Sorry, without proof, you can't go in." The security guard kept blocking them, and a crowd began to gather.
Sable and Ondine didn't leave but stood inside, wanting to see Anne embarrassed.
Ondine kept belittling Anne. "Sable, I don't see anything special about Anne. Besides her pretty face and good figure, there's nothing remarkable. How could Dorian choose her over you? How could he prefer a woman from the lower class?"
Sable felt pleased but still glared at Ondine for hitting a sore spot. "What nonsense are you talking about? I have nothing to do with Dorian. My goal is George, to become his wife."
"Yeah, sure, I spoke out of turn." Ondine quickly patted her mouth, secretly rolling her eyes. Sable claimed to like George, but it was only because Dorian didn't want her, so she set her sights on George.
Sable stood with her arms crossed, eager to see Anne humiliated in front of everyone.
The security, growing impatient, began to force them out.
Ondine sneered. "Sable, look, they're getting kicked out by the security!"
Sable smirked, but just then, Ondine exclaimed, "Oh, it's Mr. Windsor!"
Sable saw George stepping out of the elevator, looking dashing in his suit, exuding a charming and powerful aura.
Her eyes lit up, feeling fortunate for her choice. George was indeed more suitable for her than Dorian.
George walked straight towards them. Ondine excitedly whispered to Sable, "Sable, Mr. Windsor is looking at you. He's coming to get you."
Sable's ego was greatly satisfied. She elegantly brushed her hair, ready to greet George.
But George walked right past her without a glance, heading straight for Anne.
Sable stood frozen, and Ondine awkwardly closed her mouth.
"What's going on?" George walked up to Anne.
The security, upon seeing him, panicked. "Mr. Windsor, someone was trying to trespass, and I was removing them. Sorry to disturb you; it was my mistake."
"Were you trying to remove my guests?"
"Guests?"
The security's face turned black. Glancing at Anne and Diana, he quickly stepped aside and apologized. "I'm sorry, I didn't know you were Mr. Windsor's guests. Truly sorry."
George's face was stern. "From now on, they can come and go as they please. Do not stop them again."
"Understood, Mr. Windsor."
"Come on, I'll take you to my office."
"Thank you, Mr. Windsor." Diana quickly stepped ahead of Anne, batting her eyes sweetly at George.
George ignored her, leading the way. Anne smiled helplessly and followed with Diana into the elevator.
Everyone on the first floor saw George personally come down to greet Anne and Diana, and they began to speculate about their identities.
Those who had attended the Windsor family banquet said Anne was Dorian's girlfriend, and George had come to fetch Dorian's girlfriend.
Everyone realized they were associated with the Windsor family.
Sable's face turned pale. When George passed by with Anne, he ignored her again.
She had been treated like air twice!
The worst part was when Diana passed by, she stuck her tongue out at Sable provocatively.
Sable had never been so humiliated. Since Anne appeared, she had been repeatedly ignored and humiliated by the Windsor family—all because of Anne.
"I made sure Diana was blacklisted, and she still has the nerve to show up so boldly?"
George took them to the top floor and had Orion entertain them while he finished his meeting.
"So, Mr. Windsor paused his meeting and came down to get us after hearing we were stopped by security?"
