Chapter 116 Rumors That the Child Isn't Dorian's

Dorian had a lot on his plate—his model career, company business, and his studies.

But what about Anne?

She used to have her own career, but she quit.

Now, she spends her days at the massive Windsor Manor, doing nothing but eating and sleeping, like a pet in a cage.

Some might envy her lifestyle, but Anne wasn't the type to be content with just being kept.

She found herself opening a website filled with her drawings since she graduated from college.

Drawing was her hobby, and over the years, she had created a ton of works, all posted on her personal page, racking up millions of followers.

After quitting her job as a planner, Anne thought about becoming a full-time artist, focusing on her drawings.

But she worried that once she started making money from her art, she'd have to change her style to meet clients' demands, creating stuff she didn't want to draw.

She didn't want her long-held dream to be tainted by money, so Anne shut the page down.

She called her personal maid and asked, "Is George home?"

"Mr. Windsor went to the company early this morning."

Anne waited all day at Windsor Manor, and it wasn't until after nine in the evening that George came back.

She was sitting in the yard, enjoying the cool breeze and stargazing, when she heard the car horn and immediately stood up.

George got out of the car and was heading inside, looking a bit surprised when he saw Anne standing there with her pregnant belly.

Anne walked up to him with a friendly smile. "Mr. Windsor, I need to talk to you."

George was momentarily stunned. "Let's talk in my study."

"Okay."

Anne followed George to his study. George's mansion was in the back row, with the same elegant exterior but a totally different interior style.

The mansion Anne lived, which belonged to Dorian, had a simple European modern style, much like Dorian's personality—simple and pure.

In the contrast, George's mansion had a classical style from the last century, with a sense of elegance and refinement as you walked in.

George led Anne to the study, which also had this decor.

George had a servant pour Anne a glass of milk, showing his thoughtfulness. Anne held the milk, sitting on the guest sofa, feeling a bit uneasy.

George sat at his desk, pretending to read casually, thinking it might help Anne relax. But when he looked up, he saw she was even more nervous.

So George broke the awkward silence. "Go ahead, what do you need from me?"

Anne quickly put down the milk. "I need your help. It's about my friend, Diana, whom you've met."

George's eyes darkened slightly, remembering Diana as the woman who wouldn't let go of his clothes.

"She's been blacklisted by Sable in the entertainment industry. Her makeup studio can't get any orders, and her partner has pulled out their investment. I was hoping you could help her out."

Anne figured George's company must have tons of makeup needs. If he specified Diana as the makeup artist, Sable's scheme would fall apart.

If George used her, others would naturally want to work with Diana too.

George stayed quiet for a bit, and Anne thought he had concerns. She quickly added, "I get that I can't ask you to help for nothing. Consider it a favor I'll owe you, and I'll repay it when I can."

Hearing about a favor, a glint appeared in George's eyes.

"Helping you isn't out of the question, but I don't help without principles. Have her come to Windsor Group tomorrow. I need to see her makeup skills to make sure she's up to par."

"No problem, nine o'clock tomorrow. I'll call her right away. If there's nothing else, I'll head out now."

Anne left without hesitation, leaving George slightly disappointed. "Well, you really just came for the important talk and nothing else."

Anne had already asked for Dorian to help, but Dorian was away on a business trip, and Diana's issue couldn't wait, so she approached George.

With the business settled, she had no reason to stay longer, keen to avoid any gossip.

Little did she know, despite her efforts to avoid suspicion, rumors still spread among the Windsor family servants.

Initially, they only talked about Anne being in George's study, but soon, the narrative shifted to criticizing Anne.

Especially the young, unmarried maids, who all had dreams of marrying into wealth. Anne's presence shattered half their fantasies, especially since George treated her exceptionally well.

Some said Anne was involved with both men, dragging things out with Dorian while entangling with George.

Others even dug up Anne's past in bars, questioning if the children she carried were even Dorian's.

Unaware of the rumors, Anne called Diana and accompanied her to Windsor Group the next day.

"Anne, does my makeup look okay? Is my lipstick too red? Is my face too pale?" Diana fretted in the car before they even arrived.

Anne smiled helplessly, "You're going to do makeup, not a beauty pageant. Why worry so much about your own makeup?"

"Of course, because I'm about to meet my future fifty-seventh boyfriend! Do you remember?"

Anne recalled Diana's joke about pursuing George as her fifty-seventh boyfriend.

She thought Diana was joking, but it seemed she was serious.

"Alright, good luck." Anne nodded perfunctorily, thinking it was good Diana had ambitions, but she doubted Diana could easily win over George.

At Windsor Group, Luca wanted to accompany them inside, but Anne politely declined.

As soon as they entered the building, the security guard stopped them.

"Who are you here to see?" The guard eyed them suspiciously.

Diana felt the hostility and was about to reveal Anne's identity, but Anne stopped her.

"Hello, we have an appointment with Mr. Windsor at nine."

"An appointment? Please show proof." The guard looked skeptical.

Diana instantly get anxious.
