Chapter 149

Chapter 149

"You can take the medicine now?"

Martin's voice was so cold, so cold that Victoria's heart went completely numb.

So all that buildup just now was just to make her take these pills!

Victoria's heart ached so much she could barely breathe. She reached out her bony fingers, touched the various pills and capsules in his palm, and held them in her hand.

She took the glass of water he handed her and took a small sip.

She pressed all the medicine in her palm into her mouth and swallowed some water.

"Swallow it!" Martin frowned, noticing her little trick.

His eyes held a threat.

Victoria knew that if she didn't obey, he would definitely threaten her with Hayden!

Threaten her with the Gonzalez family!

This was her fate. Since she couldn't escape it, she could only accept it!

Her throat moved slightly as she swallowed, and the pills completely slid down her throat into her body.

Martin must have been afraid she would make herself throw up, so he sat there for another two hours before leaving.

Brian called him several times about work, but he didn't leave.

"Just go. Since I promised you, I'll follow the contract." Victoria said mockingly.

Martin looked at her deeply for a long moment, then finally turned and left the living room, going downstairs.

Kaida walked onto the balcony with a small white plate to feed the Gracula religiosa hanging there.

Victoria also stood up, opened the glass door, and asked Kaida to give her the feed so she could do it.

After Kaida gave it to her, she turned and left.

Victoria held the feed and looked at the Gracula religiosa hopping around in the cage. "Talk."

"Wishing you prosperity! Wishing you prosperity!" The Gracula religiosa's eyes kept rolling around as it flapped its wings at Victoria.

Victoria smiled slightly. "You really have no conscience. Give you food and you talk! Don't give you food and you act all aloof!"

"You really have no conscience. Give you food and you talk! Don't give you food and you act all aloof!" It dragged out its tone.

She put the feed in her hand into the box and watched it quickly eat with its head down.

Thinking about how her health was getting worse and worse, thinking about how her days were numbered.

Her gaze followed the Gracula religiosa's eating movements, constantly shifting. "Tell me, if I died, would Martin be sad?"

"No! No!" The Gracula religiosa groomed its feathers and shouted at the top of its lungs.

Victoria went cold. Even it knew he wouldn't?

After feeding the Gracula religiosa.

She had just returned to the living room sofa.

Her liver felt like it was in a meat grinder, the pain making her break out in cold sweat!

Victoria tasted blood in her mouth and quickly ran to the bathroom, locked the door behind her, knelt in front of the toilet, and kept vomiting with her head down.

Mouthfuls of fresh blood stained the entire toilet bowl!

Was this the cancer cells acting up because she took forbidden medication?

Victoria's face was deathly pale, sweat pouring from her forehead, the pain making her whimper softly.

Her trembling fingers pulled out a small unlabeled medicine bottle from her pocket. She struggled to open it, poured out half a bottle of pills, and put them in her mouth.

She swallowed them dry.

The bitter taste filled her entire mouth.

More than ten minutes later, the pain was finally suppressed by the painkillers!

"Mrs. Collins, are you okay?"

A worried voice came from outside the bathroom.

Victoria sat slumped on the floor and looked up to see Kaida's shadow on the bathroom door.

So the only person who cared about her was actually Kaida!

Seeing that she didn't respond, Kaida picked up her phone and went to the balcony to call Martin.

Martin's phone didn't go through.

She could only settle for second best and call Brian.

Brian answered immediately.

The Gonzalez Group, conference room.

Martin and Aaron signed a cooperation agreement, and Aaron got up to leave.

"Officer Hill doesn't look that young anymore. Why haven't you found someone? Doesn't your family pressure you?" Martin suddenly spoke up.

Aaron turned around and saw Martin leaning lazily in his leather chair. He pulled at the corner of his mouth. "Since when did Mr. Collins start playing matchmaker?"

"The main thing is, I'm not afraid of thieves stealing, I'm afraid of thieves watching."

"Ms. Gonzalez is not your property."

"She's still my wife now! And she'll always be my wife! Aaron, do you know how much Victoria likes me? For me, she can give up even her dignity! Do you think you can compete with me?" Martin sneered mockingly.

Aaron didn't get angry either. His amber eyes held a complex light. "Mr. Collins, as your business partner, I'll give you some friendly advice - cherish the person in front of you. Don't wait until you've completely lost her to cry with nowhere to turn!"

"What do you mean?" Martin's expression changed.

Aaron laughed coldly. "Exactly what I said."

With that, he turned and left.

Martin angrily punched the desk, his hand throbbing with pain.

He irritably tugged at his tie.

What did Aaron mean by that?

He still hasn't given up on Victoria?

Victoria now has nothing - no money, no looks, couldn't be more ordinary!

How could she attract Aaron's attention?

Brian walked in cautiously and handed him a cup of coffee. "Mr. Collins, calm down."

Martin took it and placed it on the desk.

"Kaida said she called you but couldn't get through, so she contacted me. She said Mrs. Collins is in a really bad state."

"What's wrong with her now?"

"Mrs. Collins is very upset and locked herself in the bathroom again, crying secretly."

Hearing this, Martin's hand reaching for a cigarette suddenly froze.

She was crying again?

Just asking her to take prenatal vitamins made her this upset?

"Mr. Collins, I think Mrs. Collins has some emotional issues. Mental problems need mental solutions. Why don't you take Mrs. Collins on a trip?"

"A trip?"

"Yes, all girls like to travel. See some mountains and rivers, you accompany her, maybe when she's in a better mood, she won't be so resistant to having a baby. Mr. Collins, sometimes you can't be so stubborn, you need to learn to make your wife happy!"

"Are you telling me what to do?" Martin's cold eyes looked over.

Brian's body trembled under his gaze, realizing he had said the wrong thing.

He quickly said, "I wouldn't dare."

Speaking of travel, Martin remembered that Victoria did like to travel.

When they first started dating, she was always dragging him to climb mountains, to go to different places, to experience different local customs.

They took countless couple photos - he wondered if she still kept them.

The most memorable was a small town called Rainbow Town, where they spent a particularly beautiful time together.

She took artistic photos there and made ceramic crafts with him.

Right, travel! Maybe revisiting old places would bring their relationship back to what it was!

Victoria wouldn't be so resistant to having a baby!

Thinking of this, Martin had Brian book plane tickets to Rainbow Town for tomorrow.

That night, Martin returned to the apartment and saw Victoria leaning on the sofa with a thin blanket over her knees, staring blankly with no expression.

Even when he walked right in front of her, she had no reaction.

"I'll pack for you. Tomorrow we're going to Rainbow Town."
