Chapter 45
Lucas couldn't answer the question his wife asked, his cell phone ringing gave Lucas no reason not to answer it. Lucas then asked permission to go pick up the phone and Clarie was immediately irritated.
"Shit! Turns out it was Marion who kept Lucas from spending time with me on the weekends!"
Clarie then took her cell phone and was about to call Marion, but when she pressed call what appeared was, "The number you have dialed is currently on another call."
Clarie frowned, was Marion on the phone with her husband?
"Are they on the phone? Or not?" Clarie wondered, she decided to call Rebecca, her husband's secretary.
"Hello Bec?" say hello.
"Yes, Clarie, what's wrong?" she asked.
"Oh no, I thought it was you who called Lucas but it wasn't so I hung up Bec."
"You're weird Clarie, well-okay."
Clarie grew even more suspicious, she didn't want Marion to steal her husband-she didn't want to. Clarie was about to call Daniele but Lucas had already returned. Glaring sharply at Lucas, and preparing to interrogate him again.
"Sorry, honey," Lucas said as he sat back down.
"Who called? Why should you go? Was it Marion?"
Lucas' face was pale, but his face didn't look worried, it remained straight. He shoved food into his mouth.
"No, that was one of my clients, honey," he lied, again.
Clarie breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Oh."
Lucas saw it. Lucas felt that Marion was very selfish and that his wife was the victim, he was worried that Marion would be desperate to kill the baby she was carrying. Even though the baby doesn't understand anything, so it should be taken care of properly, even if it's not necessarily his child.
"Are you done, honey?" Lucas asked hesitantly, glancing at Clarie for a moment.
"Why?" Clarie looked up at her husband.
"I have to get to work, honey," Lucas said honestly.
"Yes, go ahead," said Clarie with a sour and disappointed face.
"No, I'll drive you home, Clarie."
"No, I have somewhere to go, so off you go."
"Okay, be careful Honey, take care of yourself I promise I'll hurry home and have dinner at home." Lucas kissed Clarie's forehead, a little longer. Lucas then moved and left his wife.
Clarie snorted, crossing her arms. "Don't make promises if you can't keep them," Clarie sneered.
The sarcasm still sounded in Lucas' ears even though he had taken a few steps away, Clarie then got ready to go somewhere.

"Excuse me, I ask you to check this prescription," Clarie asked one of the women behind a display case full of neatly arranged medicines.
"Oh, yes a moment. Please wait," replied the woman. The woman was carrying prescription paper that was crumpled up by Clarie's crumpled up moments ago. Clarie waited on an available seat, she sent a message to Daniele.
[You will be surprised, Danny. Lucas has been meeting with Marion, if it's true that they are having an affair I won't forgive Lucas and Marion to death!]
Ten minutes of waiting, a woman called Marion's name.
"Mrs. Larsen?" Clarie got up, tucked her cell phone into her bag, then approached the front window.
"Are you Mrs. Larsen?" asked the woman.
"No, what's in the prescription? Can you tell me? What's wrong with her?"
"Sick?" the woman repeated, settling on the friend next to her then turning to Clarie.
"What is written here is not a prescription for an illness, Miss, this is a prescription for pregnant women," she explained casually.
"What? Is that so?!" Clarie asked, she rubbed her temples for a while, sighed and chuckled in annoyance, her eyes started to turn red.
"Yes, that's right, this is a drug to strengthen the content, this is vitamins, and this is for nausea," explained the woman, pointing to the prescription paper.
"Oh, well. Thank you very much."
"No problem, Miss."
Clarie left from there she stood on the terrace of the shop, trying to call Marion, once, twice she didn't pick up but the third time Marion picked up.
"What are you doing calling me this morning?"
"Are you pregnant?!" she shouted. If Marion had been in front of her, she might have clawed at her.
"Hahaha... you already know, it's good that you already know."
"So it's true you're pregnant? You're pregnant with Lucas' child?"
"Corect. Clever girl... hahaha."
"Don't ask Lucas to come to you! Or I'll-"
"I thought you were a sweet and educated girl, but in fact you are nothing but trash. Feel my revenge, you were the first to snatch Lucas from me so... now feel what I have felt!"
Tut!
Clarie hadn't even cursed at Marion yet but the woman had put her phone down.
“Argh! You bastard!"
Clarie then flagged down a taxi, she didn't want to be thought of as a madman for cursing on the side of the road. The girl went to her husband's office. She had to get an explanation from her husband, this was important, very important of all things.
In the taxi she was riding in, Daniele called, Clarie picked it up immediately.
"Yes, Danny?" said Clarie languidly, her world seemed to collapse because of the news from Marion.
"What do you mean Lucas cheated on you, Clarie. Is that true?" asked Danny in a whisper, maybe he was already at work.
"Danny-Marion says she's pregnant with Lucas's child, this is crazy Danny, this is crazy... they're crazy, how could Lucas betray-I hate him-"
"Calm down, Clarie, calm down... that's not necessarily true, there's no proof right?"
"I even found a prescription paper from Lucas' trouser pocket, Danny. They're playing crazy behind me, hu hu...."
Clarie sobbed, she imagined her husband wrestling with his ex-wife, her heart suddenly ached, hurt... Clarie really didn't expect it.
"What? If it's true that Lucas is having an affair, I'll be your supporter, Clarie, I'll help beat Lucas and Marion, don't worry... we'll meet this afternoon, shall we?"
"No promises, Danny. I'm closing, I'm here."
"Okay, be careful, everything will be fine. Let me know later."
"Fine, bye."
Clarie paid the fare and left there, she went straight to her husband's room, the big boss there.
"Hey, Clarie, I'm glad you're here," said Rebecca.
"Yes, is my husband in there?"
"Yes, he's inside, the meeting will start soon," said Rebecca. Before Rebecca finished talking, Clarie had already stepped in, without knocking on the door she went straight in.
"Why don't you knock first, Bec?" Lucas asked, he focused his eyes on the files on the table.
"You got your ex-wife pregnant?!" asked Clarie, she was furious.
"Oh, it's you, honey." Lucas got up after he found out that it was Clarie who had come. "I thought Becca was being rude, why didn't you say when you were going to stop by, did you miss me?" Lucas teased, grabbing his wife by the waist.
"Answer the truth! Did you impregnate your ex, Mr. Henderson?" she demanded.
Lucas asked Clarie to sit down, but the girl pushed Lucas' hand away. She had no interest in sitting down or anything like that. All she wanted now was Lucas' confession.
"Darling, that's not true...."
"Not right ? What is this?" Clarie showed him the prescription he had asked the pharmacy for, Lucas took it from his wife's hand.
"No, Clarie. I can explain all of this, don't get angry yet, everything isn't what you think," Lucas said, taking his wife's hand but again Clarie didn't want to be touched.
"Don't touch me! !" Clarie snapped, growing angrier. "Just answer honestly! Don't beat around the bush! It seems you've been playing pretty behind my back for a long time!"
"No, that's absolutely not true. Marion is indeed pregnant, but I'm not sure it's my child," Lucas replied, he gripped his wife's shoulder tightly, he knew it hurt. But, he also didn't think that Marion could get pregnant.
"So... you really did it with her?!" Clarie shed tears, she wiped the clear tears that escaped from the corners of her eyes.
"Yes, but that was before. It was a long time before he signed the divorce papers," Lucas explained.
Clarie moved away from Lucas, she held her forehead which was suddenly dizzy, her nose turned red.
"Shit! You son of a bitch."
After saying that Clarie came out of her husband's room, walking quickly. Lucas caught up with her calling his wife's name.
"Claire! Honey!"
'What is the hell? Even though the meeting starts in ten minutes,' thought Rebecca.
"The meeting is in ten minutes, sir," Rebecca warned.
"Shut up Bec!" Lucas didn't seem to care, he kept walking after his wife. "Clarie! Hey! C'mon, stop there!"
Becca just stared at the married couple.
Clarie didn't care, tears running down her face. She ran to the curb and hailed a taxi and got into the yellow vehicle.
"Shit! I hate you Marion!" Clarie cursed after being in the taxi.
Lucas failed to get his wife, he had to go back inside for a meeting.
"I'm sorry, Clarie."
