Chapter 46

Clarie called Daniele while packing her clothes at their house.

"Danny, can I ask you a favor?" Clarie asked, she hastily stuffed her clothes into the suitcase, clamping the phone against her ear and shoulder.

"What? Don't ask for anything, Clarie. Have you met your husband yet?"

"Okay, I'm asking you to keep an eye on Marion, please, Danny. Can you do that?" begging Clarie, she stopped packing and sat on the edge of the bed waiting for an answer.

"You mean... spying on her?"

"Yeah, Clarie. Looks like Lucas and Marion have been seeing each other a lot lately, I'd like you to tail her."

"Are you crazy? I don't want to, Marion is crazy... Where are you going anyway?" asked her best friend.

"I have to go first, Danny."

"Hey hey, don't hang up yet, Clarie-"

"No, Danny. I want to go to my mother's house, want to calm down for a moment," said Clarie languidly, completely lacking in enthusiasm.

"Why? Are you gone forever?"

"I don't know, Danny. I haven't decided on anything yet, but I'm too lazy to meet them any time soon."

"Em-well, I'm going to spy on that crazy woman. Don't we see each other this afternoon?"

"I can't, Danny."

"Yes, well then be careful on the road, you will go now?"

"In a moment Danny. Thank you, yes, you're my best friend."

"Yes, Clarie."

Their conversation ended and Clarie immediately finished packing, brought some of her clothes and belongings and ordered a taxi online.

On the other hand Marion felt she had won because firstly she was able to trap Lucas in his game and secondly she succeeded in deceiving Clarie. She plans to go to the club tonight to celebrate, because she rarely goes because she likes to feel nauseous anywhere and suddenly just goes limp, actually she hates having that experience but for the sake of revenge on Clarie, Marion is willing to be in a little pain.

Clarie stared out the window of the taxi she was in, her heart shattered by Lucas' betrayal. Her husband had not contacted her at all since this morning. It turned out that his love for her was all that was limited, Clarie was very disappointed ... it turned out that Lucas was good at lying, and still liked to defend his ex-wife, she was really annoyed why Lucas was so good to his ex.

Could Lucas still be that good if Clarie was in Marion's position?

There are many questions that she really wants to ask her husband, but... it is certain that her tongue is numb when she is face to face with her husband, she will also melt if she is coaxed, seduced continuously, her decision is right not to meet him for a while.

Clarie's tears flooded her white face, her nose was red, her eyes were sore and hot because she kept crying over her fate. She just remembered her cellphone, Clarie deactivated her cell phone so Lucas wouldn't know where she was then put it back in the sling bag and closed her eyes, the journey was still quite far, about half an hour before arriving at her mother's house.

Even though her eyes were closed, in fact, Clarie couldn't sleep, she kept thinking about Lucas, her image was really scary... Lucas hugged Marion intimately, and in the middle of them a boy appeared, Clarie suddenly opened her eyes. She wasn't sleeping but why did that shadow appear? What fate will end tragically?

'No, I'm not going to let Marion take Lucas from me, never!' said Clarie to herself.

"Stop there, sir. I want to go shopping first," Clarie said, pointing to the convenience store in front of her.

"Oh, well, Miss." The taxi driver slowed down then the car pulled over, Clarie got down and the man got out of his car to wait for her to finish shopping.

Clarie went into the convenience store and picked out a few items as gifts for her stepsister and mother. She chose some snacks, also drinks in bottles. Clarie then stood in line at the cashier, and twenty minutes later was out of there. Clarie also stopped by the shop next door to buy fried chicken, her stomach was begging to be filled because she hadn't eaten since noon.

Clarie bought a lot, she also bought two burgers, then got back into the car and continued on with only a few minutes left.

"This is for you, sir." Clarie handed over the plastic containing the burger, she also gave him a can of coffee so he wouldn't fall asleep.

"Thank you miss. Thank you very much, you are very kind." After receiving Clarie's gift, the driver drove the taxi.

"Hehehe...you are exaggerating, I don't want to eat alone sir."

Five minutes later the car arrived in front of her mother's residence, Clarie paid the fare and got out of the taxi, the man then brought Clarie's suitcase and one bag to the front door.

"Thank you sir."

"Fine, I'll take my leave, Miss."

Clarie knocked on the door of the brown house.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

After about three minutes the door opened, her mother appeared from behind the door, they stared at each other for a while, of course her mother was surprised because Clarie didn't say she was going to visit her.

"Clarie..." Her mother immediately hugged her eldest daughter with a happy expression. "Why didn't you say if you wanted to come here, who were you with? Where's your husband?" asked Silvia, she took Clarie's bag and dragged her daughter's suitcase then they entered the house.

"Why are you so quiet, Clarie?" added Silvia, Clarie just shook her head and smiled.

"Mom, I'm hungry, what are you cooking? I bought fried chicken, where's Caitlin I didn't see her," Clarie said after she placed all her groceries on the living room table and sat back on the couch, taking a deep breath.

"Caitlin! Get out, your sister is coming! She bought fried chicken, come here!" shouted Silvia calling for her youngest daughter.

"Why is she in the room, Mom?"

"She continues to study all the time, she said she wants to go to college and work and get a rich husband like her sister," replied Silvia, laughing.

"Hahaha...really?"

"I'm coming!" Caitlin shrieked from inside the room, the sound of her footsteps getting closer. "Hey, Clarie, how long has it been?" she greeted while hugging her older brother, she looked radiant and different from when she caught her with her boyfriend a few months ago.

"You're being a nerd, aren't you? Great... carry on," Clarie sneered. Caitlin scowled, smiled then sat across from her sister.

"You shopped a lot, Clarie," Silvia said as she opened the large plastic bag Clarie had brought. "Then we eat, I'll get plates and glasses," she added, but was prevented by her daughter.

"Just let me, I want to wash my face too," said Clarie, getting up, getting up from her seat and rushing backwards.

"Oh, okay, honey."

Lucas arrived at his residence with Clarie, he deliberately didn't tell Clarie to come home early because he wanted to surprise her, he had bought a bouquet of roses for his wife, but when he got out of the car in the carport, Lucas started to get suspicious because their house was dark, no lights were on. Usually his wife does not forget to turn on the lights.

"It's so dark, did Clarie let it in because she was mad at me?" Lucas muttered wonderingly, he got out of the car and hid the flowers behind his back.

Walk quickly towards the main door of his residence. Lucas pressed the bell, he smiled to himself imagining his wife would melt down and forgive him, but that was just his imagination because up to ten minutes there was no sign of the door being opened. Lucas was nervous, he then pressed the number on the doorknob and it opened. He entered, inside completely pitch black. Lucas couldn't think straight, he took his cellphone and turned on the flash then turned on the lights of his house one by one while calling his wife.

"Clarie?! Where are you? I'm home honey..."

Lucas looked all over the room, but he couldn't find his wife.

"Clarie? Where have you been?! Are you hiding? Come out... I have a surprise for you."
