Harlyn

"I should have known, Luna. I should have seen through him. Why didn't I notice? I mean I never liked him but I never thought he would be so evil. How could he do that to them?"

Leah cried, squeezing my hands until it hurt but I didn't flinch. I kind of understood how she felt. Sean's actions stole my family and my childhood, just like his actions did to her. She didn't just lose her father, she had to watch her little brother lose his childhood too.

"It's not your fault. It's no one's fault. No one saw him like that. he played everyone who trusted him."

I croaked. It was hard not to cry when I think about what that man did to our families. He did so much damage and had not thought of stopping. If he wasn't caught, if they weren't caught, they would have done more damage to the royal family and the whole kingdom.

"I know it's not my fault but it's hard to accept that even a year ago, they still took my family member away from me. If you hadn't saved my son, they would have taken him too."

I closed my eyes in sadness. They didn't spare the children. They deserve to die over and over again.

"It's over now. They can't hurt anyone anymore."

I assured her. I opened my eyes when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I let go of Leah when I saw her sister near us. Sophie hugged her big sister and together they cried. Helaine walked to me and pulled me into a hug.

"It's really over, we won."

She assured me. Yes, we won but we also lost. We lost years of our lives. We lost our parents and our childhood. Those can never be recovered and it was the sad truth that we had to accept.

"I hope that they can look at us from above and smile with pride."

I whispered to her. She patted my back reassuringly.

"I am sure they are proud of us. Especially mom and dad. We found each other."

Yeah, I want so much for our parents to be proud of us. We were not aware of each other but we still managed to find our way back to each other's lives. That to me is just great and commendable.

"Who wants champagne?"

Harry's voice made us both pull apart. Men! Why does he have to be so different? We were all having our little moment and here comes the man. Built differently and reacts differently too.

"Why are you both looking at me like that? I just wanted to lift the mood. Stop with the scary eyes sisters."

He said, I looked at Helaine at the same time she looked at me and I understood what Harry met. She mirrored my expression.

"Champagne? Really Harry? We are literally in a sad mood."

His mate scolded him. he looked remorseful for a few seconds before he shrugged his shoulders and lifted the champagne bottle he had with him up. I didn't even know when he left to get the champagne. Again, Men!

"Being sad won't undo what already happened. It's no longer news to us and we have to move on and celebrate our win. I hate to be the one to say this but the past might have been terrible but it brought us all here today and our family that passed away at the hands of the traitors will not want us to remain sad."

He had a point. Leah coughed and cleared her throat. She stretched her hand out to Harry who walked to her.

"I am glad that I approved of you."

She told him. he laughed and handed her the bottle.

"You had no choice. I would have taken my sister with me. Lose-Lose."

Leah chuckled at his words.

"As if the Luna will ever leave her."

Yeah, she was right. I belong here. This is home for me. I won't have gone with him. Maybe six months ago, I would have seen I was a nobody then and unwanted. At least that's what I thought back then. Things changed and now I can't imagine myself anywhere else but here.

"And I would have left with my mate without your approval, sis."

Sophie told her sister.

"I get it. I will go with my mate to the end of the world if he asks me so I understand."

She said and everyone kind of got over the sad mood of earlier. Harry made a good move with the champagne. Too bad I can't have a taste.

One of the palace help turned up with glasses and Leah handed the champagne back to Harry who popped it and poured a glass for everyone. When he looked at me, he filled my glass. I thought he was going to give it to me but he drank everything and gave me an empty glass.

"What was that for?"

I scolded. He shrugged his shoulders and smirked.

"Pregnant."

He whispered. I couldn't even be mad at him with the way he said it so sweetly. My heart swelled with love for him when he patted my hair encouragingly before walking away. I realized at that moment again that the man was really my brother. My twin brother. I had a brother and a sister. It still felt surreal.

"Okay, let's make a toast."

Princess Sophie called out and everyone lifted their glass with champagne while I lifted my empty glass.

"To happiness and family."

Sophie called out and everyone made a toast. While they drank up and talked, I tried to reach my mate through our mind link but he was still unavailable. I wanted to speak to him and know how he is doing. After the press release, I know he must be exhausted and sad. I wanted to reach him not just from my heart but physically too.

I want to hug him and kiss him. Tell him that none of what happened was his fault and that he did a good job. He did so well and I am so proud of him. he took over the kingdom at a very young age and still managed to do well even with so many people against him. I tried again and again but he wasn't there. It was completely empty.
