"Give him a little time, he is the alpha. He will call us soon."

My wolf told me. I sighed in agreement and watched as my family talked among themselves.

"When are you going to find your mate? You are the only unmated person here."

Leah asked Helaine who smiled shyly and looked away. I smiled. Thank goodness that I wasn't the only one who wanted her to be mated. She has refused to take me up on my cupid mission and I have aborted.

I should probably call Hillan. I haven't heard from him since they left and he wasn't at the press conference with Bernardo so I just assumed that he left already. I will call him later. He did so much for the kingdom and I want to thank him.

"I am not really at a place to find a mate right now."

Helaine answered.

"Why not? There are many eligible males in the kingdom. This is the perfect place to find a mate."

Leah told her.

"That's not what I meant. I mean that I am not ready to find a mate yet. I still have to finish my residency and do my fellowship."

Oh, it will take years if she really wants to do it like that.

"And let me guess, you are not going to stop until you become a professor, right?"

She nodded at Leah's question.

"That's doesn't matter. You might find your mate among the doctors."

Leah looked at me and I smiled.

"You guys look so alike,"

She said, looking from me to Helaine and back to me.

"You look so alike but for some reason, I can tell you guys apart. Maybe because I have twin sisters who are identical too. They are coming back soon. In a day or two."

Leah added. She stood up as she spoke.

"Everyone has worked hard recently, especially you, Luna. You should rest.

She said and took my hand. I stood up and hugged.

"Thank you, Luna. For everything."

She whispered to me. I didn't know why she was thanking me but I just accepted. After we broke the hug, Sophie came and hugged me too.

"I will wait for you in our room, Harry."

Sophie told Harry and walked with her older sister out of the common room. I looked at my siblings when it was just the three of us.

"Will you both be okay on your own?"

Harry asked us.

"Yes, I am so fucking tired, I just want to jump into a soft bed and sleep for five days."

Helaine answered and yawned. Harry looked at me for an answer.

"Yes, we will be fine. I still have to wait for my mate to show up. I will just go wait for him in our room."

I told him.

"Okay, then. Good night. We will talk better tomorrow. I am so glad that you both are safe."

He said and hugged us both before walking away.

"Okay, sis, should we stay here or go watch a movie in my room until the king shows up for you?"

Helaine asked and yawned again.

"We can go to your room but you have to sleep. You look so tired which is understandable. You just got back, then got kidnapped, and then you defeated a big bad villain. You should get that five days' sleep."

I told her as we both walked out of the common room together. Helaine laughed even though I wasn't trying to be funny when I said the words.

"I can play with you until your mate shows up and I will sleep after. I am a resident doctor, I can go days with little to no sleep."

She said and reached for my hand. I didn't know whether to be proud or sad about the fact that she went without sleep. I settled for pride because she was doing it to save people. It took about ten minutes to get to Helaine's room, partly because we were walking very slowly and also because we stopped when she had questions to ask.

I promised to give her a proper tour of the palace after everything settled down. Once we got into her room, she took off her clothes and jumped on the bed like she had said she would.

"Are you sure that you will be okay with me falling asleep on you?"

She asked me. Her eyes were already heavy with sleep. I smiled and nodded.

"Yes, doctor. I will close the door when I leave."

I assured. She yawned and laid back on the bed. Less than three minutes later, I heard her soft snores. I reached for the bed cover and covered her.

"You did so well today, thank you for coming back."

I told her. I left the bed and sat on the couch. I didn't know how long I had to wait for Bernardo to show up. He should be done already at least for tonight. Unless he wants to pull an all-nighter. I sat in silence with no thoughts at all.

I don't even know how long I sat in silence with just Helaine soft snores in the room but it was long enough for me to fall asleep.

"Baby."

I opened my eyes when I heard the word and gasped in shock when I saw him squatting next to me. I blinked to make sure I wasn't dreaming and he was still there and smiling at me. I opened my mouth to speak but he placed a finger over his lips and cocked his head to the side where the bed was and my sister was still sleeping peacefully.

I clammed my lips back together. Bernardo smiled and lifted me into his arms. I wrapped my arms around him and he walked out of Helaine's room as quietly as he could. He closed the door behind him and winked at me.

"How did you know I was there?"

I asked him when we were out of her room.

"I have my ways."

"Huh?"

I asked.

"I asked your wolf."

Oh, she must have been awake and waiting. I snuggled into him.

"You worked hard today."

I whispered to him. He pushed our door open and closed the door with me still in his arms. He stared at me and I couldn't help noticing the emotions that were playing in his eyes. He looked tired and stressed. There was a sadness in his eyes too and I wanted to kiss it away.
